IT’S OFFICIAL! CELTIC 3pm SUNDAY IBROX DATE

THE SFA have confirmed Celtic’s Scottish Cup fourth round tie at Ibrox will be played on Sunday with a 3pm kick-off.

It had been suggested earlier today it would be a noon start for the tie that had originally been scheduled for Saturday with a 4pm commencement. However, after discussions with the Hampden bosses, Premier Sports who are broadcasting the action live, both clubs and the police authorities, they have settled on a 3pm start.

The tie has been forced to move from its original date because of a clash with the funeral procession for the Duke of Edinburgh which will begin at 3pm on Saturday.

Celtic are looking to win their fifth successive Scottish Cup. They completed the phenomenal quadruple treble against Hearts five days before Christmas in a dramatic penalty-kick shoot-out following a 3-3 draw in extra-time.

Meanwhile, all of Saturday’s SPFL fixtures originally planned to kick-off at 3pm have now been moved to 12pm starts.

This affects nine fixtures across the Scottish Championship, League One and League Two.
