I’ve loved the coverage Jack Hendry and Kris Ajer received for their international appearances over the break. The situation in central defence is fluid, with Jozo Simunovic, Dedryck Boyata and (on loan) Erik Sviatchenko each with questions to answer, Jack and Kris have to be considered as having an equal chance of starting the Scottish Cup semi-final.
The thing I’m most looking forward to is seeing Marvin Compper fully fit. There can be no doubt that Brendan sees Marvin as a crucial element in developing younger players around him, in particular with an eye on the Champions League qualifiers.
Saturday’s home game against Ross County is a perfect opportunity to give Marvin a start, while resting one of the international travellers. Let’s hope he plays.

Talking about new strips when we were weans .
I remember getting a new Leeds Utd strip and as my birthday was bonfire night, I got thrown in the fire by some of the bigger boys, ( fire was nearly out) and I was meant to jump it, but I tripped and burnt my strip. I was fine but my maw went berserk, she probably worked her 3 jobs along wi Ma dads and saved for weeks to get me that strip.
Anyway she fired doon tae the bonfire and got tore into the bigger lads. I didnae know whether to greet for My burnt strip or with embarrassment ..
Loved Ma maw.

I did think that was the clue, my St Tams education kicking in there (heard it)
Will be sticking round for the foreseeable, god willing H H
I hear the Lying King has made a share offer.
Some skills from Mickey Johnston
All that I can remember about Argentina 78, was that, the junky antics of, Wullie “bud” Johnston, anybody refered to as “bud” reminds me of those days, anywye the “bud” antics were used by the SMSM to sweep the “real” scandal under the carpet!
The scandal of Scotland’s top referee being sent home from Argentina, for being caught in receipt of match bungs / bribes.
The satanic MiB of his time, JP Gordon, the worst MiB from a nest of satanic anti Celtic MIBs, a regal MiB from the nest of satanic West of Scotland Masonic Orange mibbery, caught wi his drawers doon!
Guid!
Anywye,…..HH
…….oot.
This place is gullible city,in my opinion with big smiley things:-))

Tontine My dad was mates wi two Scottish pro fitba players. Tony Green and Archie Gemmill. Tony and my dad’s nickname for Archie was Wee Scabbyneck. Archie loved his Rangers scarf. :)
*He worked as an apprentice electrician with a Paisley company on the Dalmuir Flats, had the rag on all the time, sometimes a hun flat cap and even a hun casual. Incidentally that was about the same time that I got huckled at Dalmuir station.
He played for Drumchapel and an acquaintance of mine who knew him from there said he had a clause in his St Mirren contract that if deidco came in for him they’d let him go, widnae need that clause while with that mob.
Heard a wee story that he was an unused sub at hades and when the huns scored he allegedly jumped up saying “ya beauty”. The Buddies were relegated that season and he signed for Preston no long after that.

Apart from my beloved cotton hoops strips, I loved it when I got the man utd adidas kit, came in a big tube, a yellow leeds utd kit with full trackie but my favourite was an Argentina kit, le coq sportif, with number 10 on the back, memories, but feck them all, hoops all the time since about 14 right up till now at 52

I have been watching Lewis Morgan closely these last few months. I have not seen a more two footed player since Lubo. I am unsure which is his sronger foot nor which side of the pitch he is stronger on. High Hopes.
His two goals against Dumbarton were sublime.
A snip at £300k.

Aye you are right. All hoops tops are the business although we have had some dodgy away taps.

Dae ye think JP Gordon was a beelzebub boy? ;)
Hope ye are well. Will be in my seat in North Stand on Saturday, near the place I grew up in Celtic in the Jungle.
It is a different place now, in a different time Kev, but my view forward is still the same. 11 Bhoys in Green n White on a pitch.
HH
Will be in my seat with my dad next to me in LL,416:-)))))))))
Kevjungle,
Can you expand on that…paraphrase…
“Scottish referee….guilty of bribe taking at 78 World Cup.”
No heard this one before.
Tontine
The huns punted him for being too small to bully the Celtic U16s team. So he went tae the Paisley Saints to get educated in fitba properly. Hun loss, our gain. The bhoy is a special talent.
Was 16 at the time….so obviously affected and interested. Although getting increasingly vaguer…

FB cherish the days you get to go to the games with your dad, I used to go to the games with mine until his health got the better of him… I am so thankful to have been able to take him as he took me when I was a wee Bhoy and to spend some quality time together chatting in the pub before hand. I miss him and my mother every day.
That’s why I try and get to the games and get out for a pint with my Bhoy, he doesn’t know it yet, but I would hope in years to come He will cherish the time spent with his daft auld Da…

DD,
Going away from my duties, I’m heading for Belfast on Saturday morning instead of supporting my team at Celtic Park.
Gonna go easy on us?
Cheers,
Al.
David 66
Loved your dad to bits, he told me so many stories when I met him in betfred knightswood shopping centre, often made me late for the next collection, as if I cared though, great memories although his tips were shit lol
Alasdair
I will have more of an eye on Marcus, than any Celtic player on Saturday. I will be wishing he is man of the match, but on the losing side. ;)
Who’d have thought a few years ago….best, quickest and cheapest weekend away from Inverness would be Belfast?
First time back since thumbing from Edinburgh for the (0-0?) draw in Oct 1982 for Scotland to qualify for Spain 82.
DD,
I’m worried for Marcus.
It’ll take some character to come through what he’s been through.
Through no fault of his..
Just hope things come together.
Alasdair
Aye mate. Enjoy Belfast. 3 years since I was there. Great City.
I’m talking strictly in a footballing sense of course.
DD,
Cheers.
Me and wife and daughter and mate.
Marcus knows the “kids”!
Not sure who will be looking after who.
