Jack, Kris and Marvin

412

I’ve loved the coverage Jack Hendry and Kris Ajer received for their international appearances over the break.  The situation in central defence is fluid, with Jozo Simunovic, Dedryck Boyata and (on loan) Erik Sviatchenko each with questions to answer, Jack and Kris have to be considered as having an equal chance of starting the Scottish Cup semi-final.

The thing I’m most looking forward to is seeing Marvin Compper fully fit.  There can be no doubt that Brendan sees Marvin as a crucial element in developing younger players around him, in particular with an eye on the Champions League qualifiers.

Saturday’s home game against Ross County is a perfect opportunity to give Marvin a start, while resting one of the international travellers.  Let’s hope he plays.

Saw them with Ian Gillan and later David Coverdale. If course, Gillan is the Deep Purple singer, albeit Rod Evans was the first vocalist. He was on their first album, Book of Taliesyn. In same era, I’m not a big Queen fan but I saw them as a support act for Mott the Hoople. The good old days :)

  2. Watchin the Blackburn game….have they got rid of the space behind the touchline where they all marched along when were pumpin them :)

    That’s good mate.

I had a wee scare on Monday I heard a pop in my leg, anyway went to hospital yesterday and after an X-ray they said it was probably a muscle or ligament popping around the joint. So I have some pain just now but not much.

How long after operation were you back to normal.

    D :)

  10. D66 that’s 6 weeks for me and apart from that new pain it’s going well.

  12. I was listening to Radio Clyde at 11AM today.

During the news they had this sports item. This, by the way, was the TOP sports story of the day!

And in sport, Celtic MAY be heading for 7 in a row…..

(I feel a “but” coming up here)

BUT the gap between the OLD FIRM…..

    (Sigh!)

……is definitely closing according to ex-Rangers manager Ally McOist.

“That’s absolutely true, there’s no doubt about it. Even Brendan would concede that. Now don’t get me wrong, there’s still a bit of a gap but it’s nowhere…..

    (Radio turned aff!)

I turned to my wife and said “Well, they got one thing right. Ally McOist is definitely the ex-manager of Rangers”.

I wonder if they would still have led with that if the three imminent announcements about King, UEFA and EBT’ s had been released?

    Yeah, I think so too!

  13. Gooooooood Evening CQN

Thank God, getting nearer to Celtic on a Saturday and a 3 o’clock kick off :-))

Big Packy – wee Hector not getting a hip replacement just now, Vet wanting another few months to assess, and see if he grows stronger around his hips as he matures ( he is only 15 month)

I dutifully did my rehab exercises the day I left hospital, drove the car for first time after about six weeks still a bit painful but was walking great after twelve weeks.

  16. D66

That sounds like me, I have an 8 week line for work and will see how I feel.

    Every day getting stronger .

My 13th birthday was at the first game in Argentina. I got my best present ever. The new boxed full Umbro Scotland kit. My first official strip. Umbro diamonds of white down the navy sleeve. Wi an official stitched badge.

I was on a high for us to win the world cup. Sadly it lasted a week.

  18. As difficult as it is to watch Steve Smith’s mea culpa interview tonight he is the personification of a nation ill at ease with itself after its favourite team was found guilty of cheating. Compare the Australians reaction to being caught cheating at their national sport to the reaction in Scotland where the entire establishment went out of its way to do everything in its power to deny it ever happened. Hh

The naivety of youth,eh? I was 14,had my fingers crossed until I went to Hampden for the England game. Suddenly I wasn’t so hopeful.

To paraphrase his press appearance,if you’re gonna do something that might not look good, that you know is wrong, make sure there are no cameras about.

  27. BMCUWP Why would the best cricket team in the world need to cheat ? Why did the oldco cheat even when it already had every advantage going its favour ? The answer in both cases imo is entitlement and arrogance, and a belief their respective establishments would always protect them. Hh
