Jack-of-all-trades

1699

I was initially surprised to hear we’re tracking a Jack-of-all-trades defensive midfielder-cum-central defender.  Neil Lennon’s clear preference in central defence is Efe Ambrose and Virgil van Dijk, both of whom have been in excellent form this season, but he has backup in the form of Charlie Mulgrew, or even Mikael Lustig, who has played there before.

Defensive midfield, along with striker, is one of the key positions Celtic should be looking to strengthen; so a dedicated specialist would seem the better option, but our last outstanding specialist in that area arrived with exactly the same CV.  I remember the disputes here when Neil Lennon talked about Victor Wanyama being able to play centre half.  He could, but he didn’t.

It’s more important that we do our recon well than utilise everything in a player’s locker.  Buying from England is usually expensive, but at least if affords you the opportunity to solicit plenty of reliable opinion on a player.

    Bloody Fantastic!!

Re the GB — what many in the support outwith the GB can’t understand is their reluctance — and I will put it no higher than that — to take any cognisance of the views of the rest of the support including other supporter’s association.

It is their way or the high way.

I agree with a lot of what the Green Brigade look to do as a collective but there are certain things I think the get badly wrong in my own opinion.

Many of them knew that the banner at the Milan game would bring the wrath of many down upon their head — but they voted and so stood together under the chosen banner.

Personally, I would have gone down another road that night and left the admittedly clever and thought provoking banner for another day.

Serious question to you, no agenda, just wanting to know what you think.

As far as I am aware, Celtic are open to all, politics, religion, colour, creed or whatever.

Question is….why are those who you disagree with not welcome when the ethos of the club says different ?

    HH

You are right what you posted Celtic are open to all, as in players, staff, supporters, and anything celtic minded, but if you are, and you are coming at me on my opinions then all I can say is it’s my opinion, as in the club and the way it is being ran I am over the moon, BUT, If anyone comes in with a rant at my club, my board, my manager, I’m all over you, what part of me being a Tim the way I see it is my business don’t you get? if you see it different then so be it.

I have to disagree, the GB do not see it as ‘their way or the high way’.

In fact they see themselves as the bearers of the traditions of the Celtic support. Their actions are merely a modern manifestation of our traditional rebellious nature.

Did those who gave out red cards at the Scottish Cup Final in 1988 ask the permission of their fellow supporters beforehand?

No, they assumed that the ethos of our club would result in overwhelming support.

    They got it.

It’s not the GB who are out of step with our club’s traditions, it’s those in opposition who are.

Yes I saw that, let me put the ball back in your court, and show me some thing nice she has said about the board and PL, YOU PROB. BE A WHILE LOOKING.

    —–

All she wants is a seat on the board, all she does is slag the Celtic (the board) it’s not happening, someone should put this person down and talk to her, and let her know how the club are doing, we are doing that well she or anyone else is not needed, do they really need that match attention?

Being a Ghirl I was always rubbish at ball games! You keep the ball and answer my question when and where have you heard her speak?

    T4, how you doing buddy?

There’s nae lumps in my onesie, I keep it in top order. I’ll need it for the Barcelona games next season:-)

  21. Reading some of the stuff regarding the GB earlier on. My view is get the GB to give Celtic their bank details (and make sure there’s more than 100 grand in the account) and if the GB feel the need to unfurl a banner which I’m sure everyone on this site knows UEFA will hammer Celtic for then let them go right ahead. When the money runs out then disband them. Do you see it happening. Me neither.

  22. Talking of cold tea when I go on holiday, I lock my twenty or so bottles of whisky in the boot of my car just in case my son’s pals like whisky, drink my supply and replace it with a cheeky wee Tetleys!

I don’t know why but I also put my aftershave and cufflinks in there too!!

Then when I get back trying to remember where I planked the car key!!

Gemmell’s Twitter account, which was later closed, read: “McCoist is a *****, game against Stenny should be midweek?… Why, so we are ****** after working all day whilst your boys can lie and get a massage for three days before checking their £5k a week wages are in? Away and ****off #Embarrassing.

This young footballer nailed not only the fat sleakit bawbag, he was a Sevco ST holder who tweeted the truth, I’m sending a £10 cheque to ‘Stenny’ to help pay for his appeal/fine.

Any one else want to show support against SFA/Sevco and send support to Stenny.

  24. tommytwiststommyturns on

ht – as BRTH said, the banner on another day, i.e. SPFL game wouldn’t have caused the same reaction and certainly no fine!

The GB guys knew what they were doing, baiting UEFA and sticking two fingers up to any previous agreements reached with the club/SLO. They put their egos before the good of the club.

Who gave them a mandate to do that and waste my/your season card money? They form a tiny fraction of the overall Hoops support, but think that they can speak for the many.

It’s also true that many fans used to feel the same about the Celtic Trust, but I’m not aware of them costing the club money in fines!

A wee aside…if the ‘bored’ were really that cynical, then they could have said they would have liked to provide financial backing to the Amsterdam fans on trial, but they had to pay £40K to UEFA instead!! Oooosht!

I’m defo off now. Good night peeps.
