Jetsam, flotsam and aggregated insight

752

Great to see so many names from years ago back on the blog yesterday.  As well as the jetsam and flotsam of life at Celtic, there have been times when the blog has had real value to the few, and occasionally, to the many.  Once or twice, we’ve made a real difference to our club.

Our ability to add value correlates directly with the great contributions which appear here; sometimes when people offer remarkable insight, sometimes when many aggregate their thoughts to analyse an issue.

My guess is that there will be moments in the next decade when that insight and aggregation will be needed, so thanks to everyone who keeps the place sane through the flotsam days, before the biggies emerge.  Thanks also for yesterday’s enormous support.  The untold stories of acts of kindness and generosity from the community over the decade are so numerous they are no longer exceptional.  It’s a great place to be a part of.

There are changes ahead.  A new blog design is on the way and the Quick News section will retire this summer.  Canajunbhoy has exclusively posted the section in the wee small hours for the best part of the decade, so he more than deserves peace to hang up his keyboard.  My sincere thanks for all his help.

CQteN was an enormous success and built three school kitchens in Malawi for Mary’s Meals (photos from the last two are on the way).  It was also enormous fun.  We’re going to do it again, although I’m not sure yet if it has the legs to be an annual event/bi-annual or other.  Open to ideas.

    Hail Hail

No been near the blog for a while(matter of days)

    Skimming

    From what I’ve read

    Paul 67

    Amazing

    Congrats

    Happy anniversary

Some place you set up in the Celtic universe

    Absolutely wonderful

I found this site one night at a low ebb

    Really down

    Laid it on the line

The reaction from my bhrothers and ghirls was trendous

    Lead to more

    Stuff and revelations

    And respect

Cos that’s what I got from this blog

    When I went too far

    And felt ten times better

    Cos I did

I know I’ll always have support here

And might not post much more

    Cos this blog has brought

    Me and my wife closer

    Seperated for 3 year

    Never spoke for 2 year

    Spoke a fortnight

    And

    Love never dies

    Dying for the same love

And might have found it with your help with the Celtic spirit

Never forget the ghuys and ghirls

    Who took time out

To talk to me on Xmas day

On a special day of their life’s

    With their families

    I’m probably out

    But

Will always lurk for the real stuff

    The real low down

    And thanks for the compliments

    About my writing and revelations

    Honest it’s given me confidence

    To write my life

    And I will be keeping

    An eye on developments

    Establishmentwise

And see where that plays out

And I’ll never stop fighting for my

    Family

    One day

    It’s been an absolute privilege

    I love you all

    Thank you

    For straightening my legs

    Hail Hail

    We’re magic

    We’re magic

    Yeah I’m drunk

  18. Weather forecast for Edinburgh today, sunny until 8.00pm then cloudy, intermittent sunshine and dry, No rain forecast for today.

Edinburgh will be a good place to be today, meeting up with a few friends, a few drinks, and to round it all off, a good result.

Any idea on how many tickets were sold ?

Hopefully its an entertaining game with good result.

  20. Good morning friends and a Big Happy Road to Berlin Day (stage 2) from a dry warm and either cloudy or heat haze covered (depending on whether you’re a mineshafter or happy clapper) East Kilbride. If oldtim67’s prediction (pah!) is correct it could be an ole shorts and new Celtic top evening for Jobo.

  21. Paul

Belated Happy Anniversary from all at Singapore CSC ( Singtims). We look forward to the new design. Keep up the great work.

  22. Oldtim67 Countless times tried to catch you on the phone in your home since Friday last week.

  23. proudbhoy.

I haven’t the foggiest idea, but I will be doing something I have always wanted to do since it was built, was to visit Murrayfield Stadium, but it will be a double pleasure tonight, My beloved Celtic will grace that field this evening, and we will win the game.

  24. Ladies and Gentlemen. I don’t know if we will beat St. Pats tomorrow or not. If we are out at this stage it will be probably our darkest day in Europe of all times. If we will beat St. Pats and will play against Celtic, I would be very happy to see as many Celtic supported as possible. If you have hesitations regarding the journey, you better make it, Yes. If the prospect comes true, I will be here tomorrow night with my advises, answering the questions. I will be here assist you with everything possible.

  25. Zbyszek.

MY home phone is working but maybe I have it in the wrong room, I put it beside my computer on Friday, and if I’m in that room I’ll hear it fine, but if I’m elsewhere in the house I don’t think I’d hear it. I’ll put it back to where it usually lies.

It’s a shame that if we meet in the next round that one of us will go out,but if we do meet in the next round, I’ll meet you in Warsaw for a few days.

  26. Okay Oldtim67, I will try to phone you again after 8 pm. You can leave your phone where it’s now, but at least ask your hairdresser to hear if the telephone is not ringing. I he she hears it.
