    Looking at the teams put out for the last two games — has RD got a death wish?

     

     

    Is he trying to prove a point?

     

    Shaming KC into putting in a shift?

     

    Hoping game time will fix SB?

     

     

    At times we were playing with two disappearing artists and two fan dancers in the midfield.

     

    Plus all the weaknesses we have in the team and the squad that are not getting any better.

    As an old guy I think Big Billy’s winner in the 1965 Scottish Cup Final, set us up for fabulous years. We all knew then that the Kelly Babes had grown up and Big Jock would do some great things with them.

    My favourite Celtic goal is probably a strange one to many. It was Henrik’s first goal in Seville.

     

     

    I’d never been on this earth when Celtic had been in a European final and I was just so, so desperate to see us score a goal in one.

     

     

    I’ve celebrated more at other goals but that one stands out as something really, really special

    Very surprised that KC keeps starting.

     

    He does nothing when he is on the park that would suggest he should have started in the first place.

     

     

    Add in CMcG who is both lazy and limited in equal measure.

     

    SB looking well of the pace and needing a rest to rebuild.

     

    NB who is phoning it in waiting for the summer.

     

     

    Those are the imposters on the park.

    HT, I completely agree with that one because I was right there, looking over his shoulder as he climbed and sort of hung in the air to head it over the keeper.

     

    Great goal on a great day that could have been better with a different result. Support was incredible and even some Porto fans were commiserating with us after the game. The diving and play acting was dreadful though.

    A mate of mine met one of the Vojvodina players in Oz. in the `90s.

     

     

    He claimed that their goalkeeper was impeded as he came out for the cross .

     

    In fact you can see one of their players with arm raised immediately after Billy`s header.

     

     

    Interesting thought.

    I Was in the enclosure for that game just a wee bit along from where Charlie took the corner.

     

    My oddest memory is of the DJ playing Cliff Richards’ song Congratulations after the game.

     

    What a come down that was after the euphoria of a last minute goal.

    A bit of a sore point. :-(

     

    However, the result was so overwhelming that all was forgotten.

     

    Some years later,I heard that Vojvodina had a superb side that year which included many Yugoslav internationals.

     

    The Yugoslav national team were no mugs.

     

     

    Old Cliff was cheated by Franco of a win in Eurovision with that song.

     

    Apparently.
