Sorry G I had to get to my bed.

Celtic under Brendan are developing that great ability to pick up the 3 points even when not playing at their best.

A lot of comments regarding Boyata. He actually had some very timely interceptions in the second half and dominated our penalty box in the air.

The problem lay in his distribution when in possession. Observers can highlight the poor surface or the fact that it’s his first start of the season. However, that doesn’t hide the obvious. These are the same glaring errors that he’s been guilty of previously. Boyata has attributes: he’s good in the air; he has pace and his positional sense as a central defender is quite good. Despite this, if he doesn’t learn to pass the ball out of defence to a team mate, it’ll always be a risk if he plays.

  11. Good morning friends from a dry, pretty clear skied, cold and frosty East Kilbride. Subject to a course inspction it’s back to the Pollock ParkRun for me this weekend (Strathclyde cancelled due to the M74 works). See you all there?

  12. Anyway,….enough positivity…

Brendan got it wrong wi McGregor in the team

and, Sinky who has shades of Henrik….imho.

Sinky shouldny be risked on a pitch like that coz,

my prediction is that – we’ll draw one and, win one

of our 2 remaining CL games but – not without Sinky.

    So,….Brendan,….tune in son.

  13. …oot tae watch – Still Game – and avoid yon mad Jobo guy and his mad running on a morning like that.

    Ejjjit :-)

    ..oot…

  14. HT agree with most of your summary but – there is always a but – our ball retention and distribution was poor. I always worry when we revert to back passes as an almost default position. I’m on a rant so I ‘ll continue, players who receive the ball and instinctively return it from whence it cake without turning and having a look to see if a forward pass is on. Saying that happy with the 3 points and where we are at the moment. Hail Hail Hebcelt

  15. blantyretim is praying for the Knox family on

Picking up on last nights topic re the pitch, what really annoys me is the fact that Kilmarnock had 1 of the best playing surfaces in Scotland

Teams in the top flight should be required to have a grass park and keep it in reasonable condition. After all we managed to give them a financial bonus when we made the CL group stages

Thought big Erik did ok last night considering he had another 2 new defensive partners and if Calum had squared the ball at the start of 2nd half we would have cruzed to an easy victory

Nice to see the Ruglen roasters is PV last night☘️

  16. I agree with BT

The loss of the grass at Rugby Park -a pitch where good football can be played, leads to standards of play like last night.

And we will get the same at Hamilton on Christmas Eve.

It is on pitches like those that I expect our unbeaten run to come to an end.

I have never seen a good game of football on a plastic pitch. I see games where the result has come about by a defensive error or a fortunate bounce of the ball- even our goal last night had a couple of touches of fortune- James F getting the rebound and Moussa’s pass getting through to Stuart.

    Bring back the grass

  17. Hebcelt

Off out to men’s breakfast at the Church, I’ll reply when I get back.

    I hope you’re well.

  18. Goooooood morning CQN

    Delighted with 3pts

HT your right with Boyata, he had quite a few good interventions – it’s shouldn’t be all negative with him

Every single player last night had a poor pass somewhere during the game,

I was dissapointed with Scott Browns performance, I thought he gave up possession more than any other Celtic player

Watch Tom Rogic, his first 4 touches and he losses possession

We, as in our players need to improve in this area to be able to improve in Europe

    Hail Hail

PS – Winning Captain, is there issues with CQN, I am having this re-occurring reload message again, being thrown of web page etc, only having this on CQN page ? iPad IOS 10 ?

  19. Not a bad performance last night, but we really tailed off in the second half.

Think 2 things are abundantly clear:

    1. We need a strong central midfielder. Brown, Stuart, and Tam are good, but someone in there (McCarthy? Gerrard??!!) with a bit more oomph and box-to-box prowess would really help, especially against the better teams.

    2. Boyatta is no good. Far too sloppy in position and always liable to give away a free kick, he is a glaring weakness and looks to be miles behind Kolo, Jozo and Erik.

I didn’t think we helped ourselves by passing backward, and to the keeper, in our own half so often. It struck me as needless and dangerous. I think BR was probably trying a new tactic, but until our back four and keeper are totally comfortable with the ball at their feet we won’t profit from this.

Finally – we really missed Kieran…

Finally finally – to be unbeaten domestically at this stage of the season is a tremendous achievement by BR and the lads.

  20. Hebcelt, was typing response to HT when you posted your note

    100% agree :

Does the ball react /move worse on that Astro turf in freezing weather ?

Time toget wrapped up and take the dugs ooot

    Hail Hail

Hope one if the bhoys puts up Cqn coupon at work as that Santa guy needs paying !

HT – I don’t disagree with you on Boyata and at times his distribution but hope he comes in a bit under Brendan like 95% of the impostors from Ronnys team :-)

Back to the coal face teabreak over

  23. Hebcelt 8.24.

Firstly I hope your health matters are improving. On the point about returning a pass from where it came rather than looking or turning. One word. Communication. A simple shout from a teammate of time or turn is all that’s required.

I agree with most poster’s saying that a return to grass would be preferable. The issue is economics. Astroturf makes and saves cash. For Killie , I’m afraid, money talks.

Catch any replies later. Dug to walk. Horses to pick. Coupon to put on. Fitba on a Friday is strange.com.

  26. How come Killie don’t turn up against Sevco? What about the Ally Mitchell game that stopped ra mighty bestest ever Scottish fitba team from the coveted 10 in a row? OH, wait a minute, I hear you say…..that was the old Rangers, I said Sevco ! Are they not the same? On another note, don’t know if it’s been mentioned earlier, was away seeing some friends in Ayrshire, has anyone heard anything of John James? Nothing has been posted on his site since early Thursday, and I think he was a little apprehensive about his safety. I’m sure an awful lot of peepul would like to inflict some harm on him. Anyway, Celtic THIRTEEN points clear? Thirteen is unlucky. Look over your shoulders, bhoyos Thr Rangers are coming!!

  27. Angelgabriel Doing fine thanks, the back passing does my head in, I understand sometimes there is no option but with Bitton it is almost a must do, I remember early days he could make a telling forward pass. Naka and Lubo were masters of the defence splitting pass, oh for one of these two today! Despite my observations/moans I’m a happy chappy. Hail Hail Hebcelt
