    The report on the tax seminar in the DR putting common sense at the top of the legal interpretation list sounds like the death knell on the myth ebts as RFC used them were a legitimate means of paying players open to all clubs.

     

     

    Apart from the LNS Commission already being irrelevant in legitimacy terms because of the SFA skullduggery covered in the latest TJN report, there can be no reason to let the LNS Commission stand if the final decision is based on common sense and not some literal interpretation to suit a particular argument.

     

     

    Celtic know this and realise the issue will have to be revisited. The issue of the SFA not providing the SPL of the required documents is another serious matter, arguably more than the final ebt decision.

     

     

    It’s like a bent copper fitting up a case to produce a desired outcome.

     

     

    If he/they are still in football they should be dismissed. If no longer in football then named and shamed.

    I see last night’s attendance was just under 11K – I am sure someone said the Celtic allocation was 8k if so then only 3k home supporters. Regardless of this with the capacity of 18k I am sure Celtic could have sold more.

    Apropos your mention of the Norwich variations of green, white and yellow and why can’t we do something similar, I have often thought exactly that myself, although I would prefer if we would go back to the white jersey with green sleeves and green shamrock.

    DB, from watching on my pc, looked far better than he did when he first played for us. He made some dodgy passes but, in the main , performed well defensively .

     

    Also, when I first saw him play for us, he looked overwhelmed and nervous , he looked much more confident last night.

    He was rusty after being out for so long but I said a long time ago he has the attributes to be a good centre half, he’s quick and reads the game well, good in the air too, prone to poor passing from defence but I think Brendan can coach that out of him.

     

     

    The worst way if he improves we get a decent fee for him if we move him on.

    Well that TJN report is a truly interesting development. Of course it was obvious at the time the SFA wanted to bury some (many) things to do with an Inquiry into Rangers.

     

     

    I remember asking at the time why this was a SPL Commission, Rangers had players with EBTs and side letters playing in…

    The SPL could not investigate accross the Board their remit would have been limited from the get go.

     

     

    No, the SFA were the only organisation with the remit to investigate all aspects of Rangers wrong doing. Which is why it was foisted off to the SPL and an independent commission, the scope, remit and timelines of the Commission could be controlled and managed.

     

     

    The SFA would have been able to investigate ALL aspects of Rangers wrongdoing and impose fines, penalties and sanctions to the Club and individuals. Which is exactly why they didn’t want to do it.

     

     

    Persistence is exposing them, bits at a time but keep hacking away and the facade will collapse around them.

    Erskine – be fair, it’s probably a diagnosable ‘special’ educational need the poor lad has. He did after all sign a two contracts with Sevco. They have a proud record of employing footballers who are intellectually challenged.

    Few good things to take from yesterday.

     

     

    3 points, seeing my tribute: “Kenny in the Green” in print (page 233 of the Kenny Of The Celtic book (thanks Winning Captains) – it had it’s first live airing today, in my living room, 7 year old daughter says it needs work…) and having control of the bus CD player, which saw the stone roses being played…..

     

     

    Downsides? miscounting the tickets, ending up two short, being late into the game and taking the CSC on a magical mystery tour round kilmarnock in freezing temperatures after the bus had been moved……

     

     

    Still, had worse Friday nights……
