KRIS AJER OPEN TO JANUARY LOAN OFFERS

1

KRISTOFFER AJER has revealed that he may have to go out on loan in January to get more first team match time.

The young Norwegian was speaking to Aftenposten, the Oslo-based newspaper, ahead of his return to Lennoxtown to meet up with his team-mates as they prepare for Saturday morning’s match in Dingwall against Ross County.

Ajer is obviously aware of Brendan Rodgers’ intention of recruiting an additional central defender in January with Reading’s Liam Moore apparently top of his shopping list.

Rodgers has also looked to converted midfielder Nir Bitton ahead of the young Norwegian for central defensive cover in recent matches, including the recent Champions League game against Bayern Munich.

“The window opens on 1 January, so I’ll talk to Rodgers and hear what the plan is. It’s clear there are many good international players here, who I compete with, but I have played several good games already so Celtic are very positive,” Ajer stated.

Last season he enjoyed a successful loan period at Kilmarnock with Rodgers insisting that the then manager Lee McCulloch play the young Norwegian as a central defender rather than in midfield.
