Tomas Rogic’s club, Central Coast Mariners, formally announced they had agreed terms to transfer the player to Celtic a few hours ago. The Australian attacking midfielder, who turned 20 last month, will require a work permit before the transfer is concluded, but should be a formality.
After having an extensive look at the player, Neil Lennon will think there is an excellent chance he will be a successful addition to the team, but it’s worth remembering that Victor Wanyama joined at the beginning of last season at the same age as Tomas and took six months before securing a regular starting place in the team.

I have avoided all YouTube clips of the player (which are notoriously misleading) but by all accounts he is an excellent prospect, however, he will need our support and encouragement as he settles into life in Scotland – especially if he acclimatises to the Scottish game.

A sorry state and the beginning of the end for that blog, unfortunately, I think.

There is a picture, posted on here before, possibly by Bournesouprecipe, of the queues outside the old stand side for tickets for the Leeds game back in 1970. One of the only times Celtic supporters got a chance to run across the pitch without getting arrested. Or in other words, it was a long way back to rejoin the queue. The demand for the Juve game, and for a more flexible capacity at the Park, supports the idea of playing games of this stature on a Saturday evening. Weekend European matches. Wouldn’t work of course if Celtic, or any equivalent champions get knocked out in the first qualifying round. We need to find a way to combine both domestic and European football, and don’t tell me any EPL game could take precedence over Manchester United versus Real Madrid. Or Celtic versus Juventus.
