Mariners confirm Rogic deal

963

Tomas Rogic’s club, Central Coast Mariners, formally announced they had agreed terms to transfer the player to Celtic a few hours ago.  The Australian attacking midfielder, who turned 20 last month, will require a work permit before the transfer is concluded, but should be a formality.

After having an extensive look at the player, Neil Lennon will think there is an excellent chance he will be a successful addition to the team, but it’s worth remembering that Victor Wanyama joined at the beginning of last season at the same age as Tomas and took six months before securing a regular starting place in the team.
[calameo code=000390171cc0c3617c8cc lang=en page=80 hidelinks=1 width=100% height=500] I have avoided all YouTube clips of the player (which are notoriously misleading) but by all accounts he is an excellent prospect, however, he will need our support and encouragement as he settles into life in Scotland – especially if he acclimatises to the Scottish game.

  2. If Celtic have 30,000 season ticket holders and each is allowed to buy

6 other tickets for the Juve game, Celtic would need 210,000 seats

if every one bought the full compliment!

This makes me think that season ticket holders are not allowed to buy

    six extra tickets.

Apologies if this has already been covered.

He is quite right. Everyone does know where they belong. They belong with Rangers. They do not belong with Sevco.

Of course, if it is proved that Rangers cheated to “win” some of those titles, then every fair-minded person knows that those titles should be removed.

i think celtics plan was to allow season ticket holders to buy extra ones then any left over after that went to those who bought the three match package. i reckon they got that the wrong way round.

also, i wonder how many people who bought 2 tickets today dont have 2 people 100% lined up to buy them and just bought them anyway.

I think the story was that somebody went in with 2 other member numbers to got 2 tickets for each member number he had. So all the tickets are linked to sb holders.

So ultimately is there any real difference between 1 guy getting his 2 tickets plus 2 each for 2 mates that couldn’t queue (6 total), and if those 2 guys had somehow got the time off and they’d all queued together to pick up the tickets?

    The answer is no.

Listen I’m no stranger to shambolic ticketing (I used to work at the TO hahaha) as I tried to get Kraftwerk tickets recently, and that was so badly handled it made the front page of the BBC site, but a limited number of tickets had to be distributed and in a way that might limit touting a little. Hopefully all the tickets will end up in the hands of people that won’t seek to profit from Celtic fans.

  19. Re tickets:

Celtic were in a no-win situation as demand was always going to outstrip supply. To further complicate matters UEFA actually host the match, so some ST holders will be moved. The club have no control over that.

Sure, the distribution could have been arranged in a different manner. Different people would then be complaining that they couldn’t get a ticket…

I got one ticket each for the two STs I have. I couldn’t get through online or on the phone to get extras. I wanted to treat one friend and one relative, neither of whom are able to attend on a regular basis. They will miss out, which is as unfortunate as it is for anybody else.

I suspect that, when I am lucky enough to take my seat for the Juve match, I’ll be surrounded by the same people I see at the other home games all year. I also suspect that the minority of non-regulars who always seem to appear will, as is always the case, be more critical f the team than those who go regularly.

I’m just glad that the club will get extra dough to help avoid the disastrous fate of some other clubs and be able to keep buying players. I will also be glad to see the Bhoys get the support their efforts deserve.

I remember missing big games from the sixties on… It has little to do with PL or the board and everything to do with over-demand…

D’ye think they’ll have one in Merchant City like they did for the Barça game?

Even coming from down here I’d be happy with that.

It looked good back in November.

Neither bitter or disappointed, me. We should celebrate the fact that we are such a red-hot ticket.

Maybe the club made mistakes, but I think, after the coverage the Barça game got, that the Juve game could’ve been sold several times over.

We have such respect and love from so far and wide: it makes ye proud to be part of that, no matter how near or far.

That may sound sentimental, and it is, but it’s also real and it’s true, too. Wherever you go on this planet you’ll find someone in Hoops, happy to see you.

Who wouldn’t want a ticket for that?

    All,

Wee bit of help please .

Is there any provision for disabled parking near CP ?

Don’t know if its an official car park, but see a lot of cars with disabled badges using the new parking area behind the Celtic Superstore, alternatively can park behind the visiting end stand, as long as there an hour before kick off

    I luv the Calton.

You haven’t thought today’s ticket situation through.

I was sent an email yesterday telling me that there were still tickets available for the Juve match.

That as a season ticket holder I would be able to purchase additional tickets, up to a maximum of 6 tickets per season ticket.

Lets say there were 18,000 tickets left unsold.

If every fan took advantage of the ability to purchase an additional 6 tickets.

It would only need 3,000 current existing season ticket holders to take up the 18,000 tickets.

It without question that this is close to what will have happened today.

    No, what was that?

Anyway the fact that they said there was to be no sales in person at Tate Modern, then not only did they do that, but sold them at the desks in Tate Britain where there hadn’t even been a queue was preposterous.
