Mariners confirm Rogic deal

963

Tomas Rogic’s club, Central Coast Mariners, formally announced they had agreed terms to transfer the player to Celtic a few hours ago.  The Australian attacking midfielder, who turned 20 last month, will require a work permit before the transfer is concluded, but should be a formality.

After having an extensive look at the player, Neil Lennon will think there is an excellent chance he will be a successful addition to the team, but it’s worth remembering that Victor Wanyama joined at the beginning of last season at the same age as Tomas and took six months before securing a regular starting place in the team.
[calameo code=000390171cc0c3617c8cc lang=en page=80 hidelinks=1 width=100% height=500] I have avoided all YouTube clips of the player (which are notoriously misleading) but by all accounts he is an excellent prospect, however, he will need our support and encouragement as he settles into life in Scotland – especially if he acclimatises to the Scottish game.

    Thanks for correcting me .

    My main point stands however.

We don’t need over 200,000 season ticket holders to take up the slack.

  11. tinytim,

I just think that, like every club, there are always more people who want tickets for this kind of game… The Hertz and Killies of this world can get an extra 10,000 tickets and, when they do, we complain that our large regular support are denied the chance to attend.

I don’t see much difference. I do have sympathy for anybody who wants to go and can’t . I could hardly afford to go for a good few years myself.

I managed to get 2 tickets online today (going to long time Celtic fans who currently can’t afford season tickets). I think the club should have given an indication of how many briefs would be available through the website, over the phone and in person – highly unfair that supporters queued for five hours to be advised tickets were sold out

  16. Most of the 3 match packages for the group games were sold as additions to season books. Club could have got expressions of interest from those who bought more than one package and used this to get an indicator of interest levels. Could have avoided some of the chaos today. Seems they totally underestimated this
