Mariners confirm Rogic deal

963

Tomas Rogic’s club, Central Coast Mariners, formally announced they had agreed terms to transfer the player to Celtic a few hours ago.  The Australian attacking midfielder, who turned 20 last month, will require a work permit before the transfer is concluded, but should be a formality.

After having an extensive look at the player, Neil Lennon will think there is an excellent chance he will be a successful addition to the team, but it’s worth remembering that Victor Wanyama joined at the beginning of last season at the same age as Tomas and took six months before securing a regular starting place in the team.
[calameo code=000390171cc0c3617c8cc lang=en page=80 hidelinks=1 width=100% height=500] I have avoided all YouTube clips of the player (which are notoriously misleading) but by all accounts he is an excellent prospect, however, he will need our support and encouragement as he settles into life in Scotland – especially if he acclimatises to the Scottish game.

Can’t see how being allowed to give 2 of your mates the chance to buy tickets is an incentive to buy a season ticket. You’re the mug to buy a season ticket while 2 of your mates don’t bother and get big game tickets on the back of your annual outlay. The whole thing today showed up very poorly on the part of the club.

The ‘ticket’ problem is a good one to have…..!!!! ……. What I want to know is ……. how do the tribute act distribute their 10,000 free tickets every fortnight.? ……. I know, I’ll ask SSB …… na, I’ll just get cut off……

  8. You can still go and see The Four Tops. Really. Their personnel must’ve changed at least 4 or 5 times.

I think it was a well intentioned scheme but shows that despite recent successes on and off the park … Celtic are still not run as well as we would have wished

However … If it was a public sale at cp today it would have probably have been an even bigger rami ;)

I like the look of this boy, through balls from central midfield? Wow, that would be great to see.

Going by YouTubes I like his footwork, vision and passing, doesn’t seem to be a ball winner, wouldn’t expect it but that might not help him with the over cautious manager who struggles to find a place for creativity.

This fella is a great purchase though, very much like the Ki signing, hope we can fit him in. I dream that an older wiser No. 10/25 is still coming in to open up Juventus, entertain fans and teach young Tom and others. We cant task a 20 year old Oztralian with being the main play maker for a CL last 16 team on arrival in a new country.

Ive thought the same, the languid style, YooToobe of him playing No.10, through baws and lobs over defence, he even looks similar, I like the look of.

Not wanting to cause a traditional January fuss, I dont think we are allowed to air them now… but we need a play maker, fully developed one at that. If we end this month with a 20 year old one from Oztralia its moneyball business before football, just my opinion as I believe Juventus are there to be taken if we have a bit of creation and experience in that team.

It was a public sale today. The only difference was that you had to phone a friend, go and pick up their tickets, pretend you actually were the season ticket holder and get up early enough to get any tickets that hadn’t been grabbed by ‘season ticket holders’ buying 6 at a time.

Our problems with UEFA coefficients have been discussed before. I was just checking through Bert Kassies site where the points for all countries and teams are shown. I noticed a remarkable fact:

Celtic (partly due to 2 qualifying rounds) have collected more coefficient points than any other team this season (20 points).

However the 4 other Scottish teams collected 1.5 points between them. So our collective score is (20+1.5)/5 = 4.3.

The next 8 countries above us have no-one left in the CL. Including Croatia Norway and Sweden who have no-one left in any competition.

Frustrating because the rankings down there are so tight that if a couple of Scottish clubs could pick up 2 points we could fly up the rankings.

  25. Apologise if what I am about to say upsets or angers anyone.

I live in Ipswich and until this season had 2 books which I had since the North stand was erected. Now due to financial commitments I can no longer afford that luxury especially when I could only attend around 6-8 games a season due to work and family commitments.

I have no close family in Scotland now and therefore have no one to hand the SB to for the games I could not attend.

The good Celtic folk who still stump the money for SB are to be applauded as they are indeed the lifeblood of the team. However I have listened to many of these folk complain about not getting their seat or not being able to access extra tickets. In my eyes your SB entitles you to one and one only ticket for all cup games including CL. You should not be given the right to your own seat for these games and tickets should be sold starting from the lower tier and gradually working up if numbers allow to the top tier. This would create a better atmosphere and look better when the low cup attendances occur (wonder where all the SB holders are when we play Arbroath etc in the cup). It will also give fans like myself the opportunity in a ballot system or FCFS to attend a champions league game.

As I said I am sick to death of the attack on the club and the ticket office. Let me give you one glaring example, a woman called one of the phone ins (SSB I believe) and stated that she was disgusted that her two children could not sit with her and her husband at the Juve game she said the club issued her two kids tickets away from their own seats. The panel all agreed that it was ridiculous even though she went on to say that only her and her husband were in the cup scheme to get their own seats and she did not know why she forgot to add the teenagers to that scheme, wtf does she expect does she think the Ticket Office should remeber that her kids should always sit with the parents.

Lastly I am trying to get agreement with some others to share in 2 SB’s next season as I miss watching the Bhoys so much.
