McCoist at odds with hero Whyte

979

We all know Craig Whyte doesn’t get nearly enough credit for the wonderful job he is doing for Scottish football but his cause was not helped by rookie manager, Ally McCoist, who when asked today if Nikica Jelavic asked to leave Rangers said, “No he didn’t, not at all. I have a wonderful relationship with Nikica. He never said that.”

The Rangers manager then passed the buck onto the unfairly beleaguered club owner, telling STV, “We received a bid from Everton which Craig [Whyte] found acceptable. Therefore business was done.”

McCoist refused to take a manager’s responsibility for deciding who leaves the football club.  Craig Whyte made it clear to all concerned yesterday that Nikica Jelavic wanted to leave Rangers and there was no point keeping a player who didn’t want to be there.  Whyte needs the backing of everyone with the best interests of Scottish football at heart, including his manager.  The intrusive scrutiny he has been placed under in recent months will not help him achieve his objectives.

Whyte hasn’t put a foot wrong so far, we should all mind our own business and let him get on with his job. Eye on the prize, Craig.

Is that a lump in your cheek or are you simply pleased to see me? :-)

Interesting Sally’s comment,”The welfare of the club is the most important thing, even more than results”.

I can’t see thems being happy with that statement!

I agree and I’ll post this until the cows come home or until justice, in my mind, is served.

“Sir” David Murray was knighted for his business service, Rangers were a huge part of his business and without doubt the largest part of his business in the public eye, I’m as convinced of the following fact as I am about anything, the person or persons who proposed his name for knighthood did so on the back of the success Rangers had, that being so then if the HMRC case is proven then not only should he never been have knighted he very possibly could/should have been taken to task for this tax evasion scheme.

  3. Keevins tonight: “I never said Celtic needed a strong Rangers..”

Actually Hugh, if you’re reading, and I know you are, that’s EXACTLY what you said to me two weeks ago!

  4. Dalziel wanting to brush anything topical under the carpet. “Lets talk about football” says he “not about Jelavic leaving, that’s done and dusted.” “That is football” says Keevins . . . cue adverts.

Normally when a manager comes out and openly contradicts what the owner of the club has already said publicly, the owner is entitled to ask the manager to resign or in the absence of his refusal to do that, give the said manager his P45. Do you think McCoist is trying to engineer such a scenario. This would then allow him to say that he refused to tell lies about the Jelavic sale and was forced out. He would then escape further scrutiny of his dismal managerial record and would probably receive sympathy from the gullible RFC supporters and toadying laptop loyal.

Agreed, rarely listen to SSB but caller put across his points very eloquently.

I find it very amusing that when NOTW closed, their rivals all tried to grab their readers and increase their circulation without expressing any sympathy, but , in another industry (football) we are supposed to help the failed competitor.

    Hypocrites or what ?

Every day of life, being a Celtic supporter is wonderful.. I m grateful..

This week has been wonderful .. In terms of enjoyment..

Like those long lost carefree summer holidays of childhood when the sun was always out and you played all day ..

As a Celtic supporter waking every day this week has been like a sunny summers day…

Apologies if im calling it wrong but my first reaction on reading your post was

    – that’s an attempt by an imposter to drum up a controversy on a Celtic website about refs.

    Maybe I’m wrong.

Either way there’s been no discussion because the role of the ref whoever it might be in those tragedies is irrelevant.

  10. I get this feeling that too many folk are writing-off McCoist.

I have lived through sneaky’s career when he was darling of, S(hun)cotland all the way right through to today and, I still have the fear that he will jump out the cupboard and, mug us!

Having witnessed how the MSM end up relying on blogs like CQN , RTC and Phil Mac for their more educated pieces , can one of you talented guys please post a link to an image of RFC cracked and broken club crest.

I’m sure the guys at the Sun and Record would love to put it on the back page , but quite clearly they don’t employ anyone with the know how , and are silently, patiently waiting to lift it from here.

Like others on CQN I see the main culprit in the Poundland teams current situation is without a doubt Sir David Murray the man who said for every fiver Celtic spend he would spend a tenner. The man whp brought in top English players the man who paid 12 million for Flo the man appears happy now to let Craig Whyte take all the flak.If it was correct to take the knighthood off Fred Goodwin who ran the RBS aground surely it must be right to take the knighthood off Sir David Murray for running the great Scottish institution that was Rangers Football club aground.I have no respect for the bumptious Murray one day the Orcs will wake up and see who is to blame for there clubs downfall.H.H.

‘Ally McCoist leaving Ibrox, the picture on his face tells a story’

‘Why didn’t Rangers have somebody sitting and waiting’ (after the Jelavic sale)

    Keevins is a disgrace!!!!

His arguement is: poker table, Dave’s caught cheating but Dave’s always first in and Dave always calls, forcing other, less wealthy players to borrow in order to stay at the table. Shuggie thinks that Dave should still get a seat even when he’s skint, has no visible means of income and owes a bundle on his previous earnings.

The logic? everyone wants to see Dave throwing money that’s not his into the game!

Please ask him the specific Rule/s from The Rules and Regulations of the SPL and/or the particular article/s of The Article of Association of The SPL that clarify the position that Newco Rangers would be granted the oldco’s share in the SPL in the event of Oldco liquidating?

The Man Comes Around – Johnny Cash

The lyrics could not be more appropriate.

One of my favourite features of the NTV fanzine was the Book Of Tim (and lo the timmites looked upon their ragged soldiers and there was much wailing and gnashing of teeth in the face of the rejoicing hunnites…[cont’d in page 1994])

This delightful orange FUBAR reminds me of that Book Of Tim feature, and how the great Old Testament themes of suffering and vengeance lend themselves to what’s happening. Do the Huns have New Testament atonement and redemption in them?
