McCoist at odds with hero Whyte

979

We all know Craig Whyte doesn’t get nearly enough credit for the wonderful job he is doing for Scottish football but his cause was not helped by rookie manager, Ally McCoist, who when asked today if Nikica Jelavic asked to leave Rangers said, “No he didn’t, not at all. I have a wonderful relationship with Nikica. He never said that.”

The Rangers manager then passed the buck onto the unfairly beleaguered club owner, telling STV, “We received a bid from Everton which Craig [Whyte] found acceptable. Therefore business was done.”

McCoist refused to take a manager’s responsibility for deciding who leaves the football club.  Craig Whyte made it clear to all concerned yesterday that Nikica Jelavic wanted to leave Rangers and there was no point keeping a player who didn’t want to be there.  Whyte needs the backing of everyone with the best interests of Scottish football at heart, including his manager.  The intrusive scrutiny he has been placed under in recent months will not help him achieve his objectives.

Whyte hasn’t put a foot wrong so far, we should all mind our own business and let him get on with his job. Eye on the prize, Craig.

Interesting that you should mention those 2 players in particular.

Weir was allowed to kick and foul with astonishing impunity. He could commit a dozen fouls per game, halting possible attacks from the opposition, and still not receive a card.

Jellyfish numerous matches for them by a single goal or the odd goal. His strikes in the last 2 months of the season won them the title.

It is significant that both are now long gone. Celtic will win this league!!

Another thing to ask is, how is so sure that there will be a newco Rangers and what will happen if no-one comes in to set one up. Surely then the 12th share will have to go to someone.

I think whenever that infamous quote by David Murray is written we should correct the quote to read:

“For every fiver Celtic spend HMRC will spend a tenner”

    _____

    correct again to read:

‘For every fiver Celtic spend, the taxpayer will spend a tenner’

You don’t even need as extreme circumstances as those. If Rangers finish in the bottom 6 there would be only 3 derbies in the season and this would break the terms of the TV deal.

Therefore should Rangers be kept in the top 6 to preserve the current, entirely replaceable, TV deal.

RFC problems started prior to Mintys investment in RFC. Holmes & the Beast plotted their downfall with the capture of the GK & CH for Engurland and subsequent signings. This also brought Scottish football to the brink with every other topflight club investing in players their income streams could not afford. Teams like Murderwell, DFC went into Admin the sheeps have just about broke Milne the arabs have just about taken every penny from the thomson family and the board before them and but for the man with the bunnett our club could have went to the wall with a board that was not up to the task.

As much as I would love to see RFC who are currently trading whilst insolvent liquadatedand andsent back to the bottom division of Scotland league structure. I beleive that the SFA/SPL and SFL will conspire to league reconstuction back to 2 divisions so Newco have the chance to be absent from the top division for 1 season whilst the serve out their punishment.

We do not need RFC we do not need the current SPL tv deal that is dependant on 4 Celtic v RFC games per season. It would give us the chance to sell our own media rights

    I hope your right but….

I feel that, mibbery will become more pronounced now!

Just look at our last two games v’s St Mirren and Falkirk and, you’ll see the type of honest mistakes that could be a taste of whats to come. And probably will be! IMO!

  11. The long wait is over,

apology accepted. No offence taken, I’ve actually been posting on here (infrequently) for a good few years and I’m certainly not an imposter.

If I were trying to drum up a controversy about refs i can’t imagine I’d need to look far.

I would like to make it clear that the refs I mentioned were not actually officiating during the recent disaster, but the fact that they’ve been over there in the past has only come to my attention because they were both offering soundbites on their past experience refereeing club football in Egypt, in the light of the aforementioned tragedy.

I was just looking for some feedback as to wether or not this was common knowledge that we hire referees out to foreign FAs to officiate over their most volatile games.

Rangers to join the 4th league in Engerland?? They deserve each other. They play G S T Q every game down there!!

Inverness, is not a game of football.

Never has been at this venue against this side in any competition, due to three reasons.

Firstly, Inverness are not a football side, they are a team of spoilers, always with a physical edge, to their game, and doubly so with ex Rager, Butcher in charge. The brand of ‘football’ they play is mimicked widely in every city, and town in Gt Britain in any league through necessity, and financial impoverishes.

They will pack the midfield, and punt the ball high to the Celtic defence, and feed of scraps through fast slight, but very limited running players.

Secondly, the pitch is green but thats where it’s resemblance ends with a football pitch, reasonable on camera, but largely due to the climate, it’s grass but not as we know it Jim, and you only have to walk on it, to see that rolling round ball football, just isn’t an option.

Thirdly, the stadium barely makes the description of such, and if ever there were humbling undistinguished unwelcoming surroundings here we have it. If Barcelona walked onto the pitch they wouldn’t even look like Barcelona, and most definatley wouldn’t be able, or allowed to play like them.

For Celtic this is match very similar to Paisley a fortnight ago, and I expect NL will continue learning his trade, by avoiding retracing unwanted footsteps, of falling foul of brawn, hoof and break. Celtic will play ICT wisely with the benefit of hindsight, they won’t know what to do if Celtic play correctly and give them the ball, and draw them out, of their subordinate style and status.

    Score Forecast ICT 0 – Celtic – 3

    Hail Hail

  14. Neil Lennon has said on SSN that he doesn’t think Celtic need the huns (there’s a clip of it on KDS).

How about the Board coming out and backing the manager on this?

The Celtic board need to let the other clubs in the SPL know exactly where they stand on this.

There’s a sustained media onslaught to let the newco huns straight into the SPL.

We have to kill that campaign before it gains any more momentum.

  20. Great caller on Snyde there, told it exactly the way it is, and Delahunt cuts him off, why oh why do we bother with this shower.
