Mulgrew’s magnificent delivery

1279

I watched Scotland play a more accomplished Wales last night.  No one in blue played particularly well but when Charlie Mulgrew prepared to take a corner from the right in first half stoppage time we knew Wales were in danger.

The pace, low trajectory and movement Charlie gets on the ball negates the natural advantage the defending team has.  The goal had little to do with the young lad who got on the end of the cross, just as Celtic’s remarkable success from corners has little to do with their ability to attack the ball.

The Wee Oscar 4 Life team have asked me to pass on this message:

Wee Oscar 4 Life are delighted to be offering you the chance to win a fantastic and very unique auction prize.

We have been donated a very special bottle of 8 year old Bowmore, which has come straight from the cask. The Whisky is 59.4%, unlike a normal malt whisky which is cut to 40% proof.

The whisky was distilled on 13 March 2001, and bottled on 26 June 2009.  It has been donated by a very kind CQNer. However, not content with already donating 3 bottles from his share of the cask to raise funds for Wee Oscar , we now have his prized possession:

Bottle no 1 of 251.  A very special prize in aid of a very special wee bhoy.

  2. Just trying to get my head around this ‘Charlotte18’ twitter storm involving Gavin Masterton (ex HBOS), Dunfermline AFC, and (possibly) Minty Moonbeams.

Was Masterton at DAFC when they ‘lay down’ to Rangers on the last day of the season, prompting the ‘infamous’ outburst from Chris Sutton?

I had hoped not to join in the ‘fearty’argument

The Banks had long left Scotland behind – it is very convenient for the Unionists to roll out the failure of the gamblers- I suggest you take a walk to Canary Wharfe and ‘the City’ to see where the real issue lies.

According to this video in 2008 a bailout of 66billion was required and Scotland’s GDP was 145Billion.

If that is true then it would have been possible to deal with it.

    Everyone should watch this video

We weren’t. Both the RBS and the BOS were regulated from London, although I use the word “regulated” lightly. Labour Government, the Bank of England and the Financial Services Authority all had oversight. I read recently that RBS despite its’ huge losses has an underlying profit of some £6 billion pa. Not sure how true that is but what is does mean is that it would be very saleable. Mervyn King wants the Tories to sell it off a a knock down price to his friends in the City. There will be plenty of takers for his “good” bank. The British taxpayer, we will get left with the bad debt.

I was pointing out to Doc the reasonss plod lets protests go ahead in george sqr, in reply to his question will plod try and stop a peaceful demo.

  13. Just read an article in the SOS sports section about DAFC’s plight and noticed an accompanying photo of a good crowd of protesting fans “marching” from the town’s Old Inn to East End Park with one solitary plod in the distance. They obviously gave 28 days notice – aye right.

  14. Hi, just a basic question. What’s Paul’s email address or is there another way of contacting him directly. Football strips / Africa related…

I know. On December 11, just after the decision by the Belfast City Council to restrict the number of days on which the flag flew, Glasgow Police facilitated an unlicensed protest at George Square. To the untutored mind it looked like a BNP rally. So you are right.

Apols to others for dragging on this political debate, but I’ve been biting my tongue all day (and now it’s bleeding) :)

I find it astonishing that those of us expressing concerns about the SNP and independence are being labelled bigots and fearties.

A vote for independence at the moment is a vote for Salmond.

A vote for Salmond is a vote for Mintyism and his control of the MSM.

This is not paranoia FF style, P8ddy, thank you very much.

During the review chaired by Christine Graham in the lead up to the bill, it was followed closely every day by many of us here. Going by your reaction today to the Bhould’s link to it, I gather you didn’t follow it – it seemed new to you going by your post? Yet you still argue that it was a rushed mistake. It wasn’t. And as I said before, she ignored the recommendations of many experts, and instead followed the recommendation of the Strathy rozzers, Daryl Broadhood and Pat Nevin.

Regardng Salmond and Minty, are you aware of the land deals between these two? Or of the land deals between Minty and Glasgow Council?

Regarding Strathy rozzers, it’s also worth pointing out that after their collusion with this bill and its subsequent “policing”, not only were they awarded additional budget for it, but leader of the Strathy rozzers, House, has been given oversight of the Scottish Rozzer Service when it commences shortly.

I’d call this new rozzer service, Salmond’s Praetorian Guard.

Meeja and polis under a rather corrupt control system. This is what you’d be voting for. Need I go into the Scottish banking system. The Scottish legal system. To break away from the temperance afforded to these “institutions” by union with England, would give them free reign to take us even further into corruption and a rozzer/ Salmond state.

That doesn’t strike me as a healthy climate in which to be for an independent state.

Had on the other hand, Salmond had the integrity to deal with some of these issues in Scotland, rather than exacerbate them, I might well have been voting yes. But as it stands, these issues are rapidly getting worse under his command, with his Praetorian Guard there to protect his concerns, and an MSM happy to hop into bed with Minty’s pal.

You ignore those issues at your peril.

  17. Did anyone notice the adverts on Sevco’s electronic boards yesterday?. From the Indian carryout shop in Croftfoot road, cash for gold and a hand carwash to name but a few.

Made me chortle a few times.

I apologise if watching the newclub offends anyone, but I needed a good laugh…

It is not about Alex Salmond at all – another of the unionist myths in that video.

It is about the people of Scotland rejecting policies cooked in London and forced on Scotland and all of its people like the Bedroom tax.

Alex Salmond and indeed the SNP are more likely to become an irrelevance in an Independent Scotland as the political map changes. It might take another 5 years but they won’t be in power forever.

This so called moderating influence of the UK is another myth.
