Mulgrew’s magnificent delivery

1279

I watched Scotland play a more accomplished Wales last night.  No one in blue played particularly well but when Charlie Mulgrew prepared to take a corner from the right in first half stoppage time we knew Wales were in danger.

The pace, low trajectory and movement Charlie gets on the ball negates the natural advantage the defending team has.  The goal had little to do with the young lad who got on the end of the cross, just as Celtic’s remarkable success from corners has little to do with their ability to attack the ball.

The Wee Oscar 4 Life team have asked me to pass on this message:

Wee Oscar 4 Life are delighted to be offering you the chance to win a fantastic and very unique auction prize.

We have been donated a very special bottle of 8 year old Bowmore, which has come straight from the cask. The Whisky is 59.4%, unlike a normal malt whisky which is cut to 40% proof.

The whisky was distilled on 13 March 2001, and bottled on 26 June 2009.  It has been donated by a very kind CQNer. However, not content with already donating 3 bottles from his share of the cask to raise funds for Wee Oscar , we now have his prized possession:

Bottle no 1 of 251.  A very special prize in aid of a very special wee bhoy.

What aspect of the huns’ behaviour does the act criminalise that wasn’t already illegal?

I was just highlighting that you had got information direct from source rather than any rumours of score.

I mean, it’s not like the Official website to get things wrong, is it? :-)

No wish to debate the matter, no time for it Im afraid, just thought I would point you to the video of the remarks she made. It seemed to me and most at the time though that she meant, ‘ it’s not even and we can’t have that, can we now…’

As an addendum…..The online communications part of the bill doesn’t seem to have made the least bit of difference. Does Folgen Folgen or Zombiemedia look any different prior to the legislation?

  6. Donegal lost in Mayo earlier this afternoon by 1:10 to 0:9.

Wins for Derry, Cavan, Monaghan, Fermanagh and Tyrone (beating Kildare) meant a good day for Ulster with only Donegal and Armagh losing.

As it was a good day for Ulster teams, I am sure they’ll be celebrating this over on FF

How about this Ernie – when you answer ANY of the questions I put to you, I’ll reply.

You’re not simply going to move on, failing to answer any of the points you’ve been caught out on as if they didn’t happen. You might be able to bludgeon your way through other arguments, not going work with me.

I’ve indulged you repeatedly. Every time I see you on CQN I’m going to chase you for the answers. Every time, on any subject you respond to.

So, to begin – “There has never been a Catholic in the SNP cabinet or shadow cabinet”. That’s what you said. Has there been?

Had a quick look at Scotland on Sunday at the supermarket and there was a bit from the fat one about his lack of resources at the bigotdome, honest!

Someone should point out that Stirling brought on a 17 year old school boy, thta’s right not a plumber or brickie but a school boy!!

  11. Afternoon bhoys!

The big number 5 for Stirling yesterday is an old friend from my university days, Jamie Bishop! I have congratulated him on his performance yesterday at the bigotdome! Although I felt he could have been a bit stronger with the shoulder when defending corners ;0)

That’s a terrible bit of diving – and a blatant attempt to get the opposition player sent off. It’s right up there with McCann’s successful attempt to get Alan Thompson sent off.

Still, good to know McCulloch is as incompetant at cheating as he is at football.

There’s never been a Catholic in an SNP cabinet I’m pretty sure of that.

I think Rosanna Cunningham may briefly have been a member of the shadow cabinet.

You seem to think that’s something to crow about.

I suppose by SNP standards it is.

  26. Paul67 et al

I must admit that I did not know that Denis Canavan was Chairman of the Organising Committee for the Yes campaign in Scotland, but I am more than pleasantly surprised. He actually addressed the SNP Conference yesterday. For those that do not know him, he is a man of real integrity, former schoolteacher, MP and MSP, and, when he was younger a good footballer, as many of the Westminster Press will tell you. Sidelined by the Labour Party he was more than good enough to get elected as an Independent, in Falkirk, though not to be confused with Eric Joyce. If anyone can help deliver the votes of those that have traditionally voted Scottish Labour, it is Dennis.

I read assorted commentators today observing that Ally McCoist’s new team lacks a spark.

He should just have asked Stirling Albion. They had 3. Plus a joiner and 2 plumbers.

There’s never been a Catholic in an SNP cabinet I’m pretty sure of that.

How so? Do you *know* the religions of the ministers beyond looking at what school they went to? Serious question.

I think Rosanna Cunningham may briefly have been a member of the shadow cabinet.

She was both a member of the shadow cabinet and deputy leader.

You seem to think that’s something to crow about.

No, I don’t. I don’t care about religion to be perfectly honest. I haven’t made any issue about Catholics in any profession or position. The only person crowing, wrongly, about the religious makeup of the SNP was your good self.

I simply believe in being even handed. As I said from the outset, the SNP are a party of pragmatism for me. On two points, firstly because through independence I beleive that we’ll all be able to make a *meaningful* contribution to a democracy, and secondly because I believe the SNP are the leftmost of all the mainstream parties. Mabye the best of a bad lot, but I’d rather have some form of socialism than none at all. The SNP are, in my view, the least corrupt of the main parties.

    My political philosophy is anacho-socialist/anarcho-communist.
