Mulgrew’s magnificent delivery

1279

I watched Scotland play a more accomplished Wales last night.  No one in blue played particularly well but when Charlie Mulgrew prepared to take a corner from the right in first half stoppage time we knew Wales were in danger.

The pace, low trajectory and movement Charlie gets on the ball negates the natural advantage the defending team has.  The goal had little to do with the young lad who got on the end of the cross, just as Celtic’s remarkable success from corners has little to do with their ability to attack the ball.

The Wee Oscar 4 Life team have asked me to pass on this message:

Wee Oscar 4 Life are delighted to be offering you the chance to win a fantastic and very unique auction prize.

We have been donated a very special bottle of 8 year old Bowmore, which has come straight from the cask. The Whisky is 59.4%, unlike a normal malt whisky which is cut to 40% proof.

The whisky was distilled on 13 March 2001, and bottled on 26 June 2009.  It has been donated by a very kind CQNer. However, not content with already donating 3 bottles from his share of the cask to raise funds for Wee Oscar , we now have his prized possession:

Bottle no 1 of 251.  A very special prize in aid of a very special wee bhoy.

My point is exactly that, it IS about Salmond, and the SNP. I’d vote for independence if the SSP were at the helm though :)

To grant him an independent state (where he would unavoidably be in charge at inception) is the folly here. The proof is there: re-construction of the rozzers, involvement with land deals and tax evasion with Minty and other bankers, courting of the meeja, appeasement of money men such as Trump. Any news on what happened to Christine Graham’s PA who published a blog on her former employer’s anti-Catholic sentiments?

whilst i dont agree with your statement I can at least understand it to an extent, however these people are in my opinion going to the checks and balance for any percieved SNP whitewash should a Yes vote be achieved.

this a collective of people who in the main will have more in common with the SSP than Blair, Cameron, Milliband etc. Lets face it if the no vote wins these are the punters who will be dictating what happens in Scotland. I fail to see how this circumstance improves the chance of a more equal and socialist country.

The words “run of the mill” and “Celtic fan” are mutually exclusive – you are part of the fabulous Celtic family –

    Cheers mi amigo.

I have been checking them out since I came into their possession today, shocked at how much they cost.

I have at least a hundred of them, all brand new unopened, some are very rare as well.

I liked N’Guemo in midfield, great ball winner, and tough with it. Seem to remember him playing well in the first match against Arsenal at Celtic Park, as did Aiden, and he was missed in the second. Thought Kayal a more than capable replacement when he came in, but seems to be in and out at the moment. Even so, if Victor goes I still want to sign Exodus, from Mansfield. Maybe I will need to get Kojo to give him a favourable review.

3 or 4 of those checks & balances were from the Green Party. The BBC said this about thir 2007 manifesto and I don’t know if they’ve backtracked at all from there:-

“The party manifesto was wide-ranging and controversially included a pledge on integrating state-funded religious schools into nondenominational education, with the party moving to deny it was a move to “abolish” Catholic education.”

  6. Celtic Mac

N’Guemo was an enthusiastic ball winner and vry limited ball user. My point is that he is not getting a game at mid-table Bordeaux. He does not seem to have kicked on at all.

Apols to others for dragging on this political debate, but I’ve been biting my tongue all day (and now it’s bleeding) :)

I find it astonishing that those of us expressing concerns about the SNP and independence are being labelled bigots and fearties.

A vote for independence at the moment is a vote for Salmond.

A vote for Salmond is a vote for Mintyism and his control of the MSM.

This is not paranoia FF style, P8ddy, thank you very much.

During the review chaired by Christine Graham in the lead up to the bill, it was followed closely every day by many of us here. Going by your reaction today to the Bhould’s link to it, I gather you didn’t follow it – it seemed new to you going by your post? Yet you still argue that it was a rushed mistake. It wasn’t. And as I said before, she ignored the recommendations of many experts, and instead followed the recommendation of the Strathy rozzers, Daryl Broadhood and Pat Nevin.

Regardng Salmond and Minty, are you aware of the land deals between these two? Or of the land deals between Minty and Glasgow Council?

Regarding Strathy rozzers, it’s also worth pointing out that after their collusion with this bill and its subsequent “policing”, not only were they awarded additional budget for it, but leader of the Strathy rozzers, House, has been given oversight of the Scottish Rozzer Service when it commences shortly.

I’d call this new rozzer service, Salmond’s Praetorian Guard.

Meeja and polis under a rather corrupt control system. This is what you’d be voting for. Need I go into the Scottish banking system. The Scottish legal system. To break away from the temperance afforded to these “institutions” by union with England, would give them free reign to take us even further into corruption and a rozzer/ Salmond state.

That doesn’t strike me as a healthy climate in which to be for an independent state.

Had on the other hand, Salmond had the integrity to deal with some of these issues in Scotland, rather than exacerbate them, I might well have been voting yes. But as it stands, these issues are rapidly getting worse under his command, with his Praetorian Guard there to protect his concerns, and an MSM happy to hop into bed with Minty’s pal.

You ignore those issues at your peril.

    My addition

Careful what you ask for think of the football bill the SNP brought in that lead to what happened at the Gallowgate last week

Trust these people at your peril!

  8. I prefer it when Celtic sign players we have never heard off. Seems to work.

    Would love McCarthy though !

  9. Beram Kayal and Landry N’Guemo are very similar, especially when faced with the opportunity to pass the ball forward, or shoot, and hit the target.

Kayal has scored two goals for Celtic, N’Guemo none.

    Godfather Film4 ………….Just starting

  10. SFTB

it would be a very rare thing indeed to find a political party to which you agree with all the policies 100%.

you will also notice there are a few socialists.

  11. Trophybhoy I respect John McAllion and Iain Banks but I think including the student leaders as influential was stretching it a bit.

Anyways there are over 540 days of this to go and I must stop getting sucked in to this.

How will Scotland fare in Serbia? Anyone???

  12. The independence debate shouldn’t be about party policies. The UK can change government and so can Scotland – under devolution or as an independent country.

It makes no sense to argue: don’t like the UK government so go independent – so what would I then do if I don’t like the new independent Scottish government’s policies? Fight for independence for my city/ county?

But the debate has to be about the SNP. They are the party who are leading this. And if Scotland did vote yes, then they would be the ones negotiating the set up of a new state with the UK government. They would be the ones leading the country until the first general election. So the people involved has to be a factor when thinking about which way to vote.

  13. On the SNP

Anyone who thinks an independent Scotland would be a socialist paradise is sadly mistaken

The biggest backers of Salmond are a group of very wealthy individuals like the Soutars and Murrays. Wee Eck knows exactly where his bread is buttered and he wouldn’t be antagonising these people any time soon

Just ask yourself one simple question – do you think we would have heard anything about the Huns tax cases if we had been living in an independent Scotland?

It would have been swept under the carpet so fast we wouldn’t have had time to blink

The whole Micky mouse parliament should be closed down IMHO

I even had the misfortune of hearing one fairly well known MSP addressing a group of S2 pupils – without a thought she proudly told them all that she was a Nationalist first and a Socialist second!

Don’t think this combination worked too well in Germany!

Yesterday I noticed that even their new slogan “Forwards” seemed to be copied from somewhere familiar!

I notice you got your wish re Celtic playing in Dublin, albeit against Liverpool. Funny that, given we turned down the chance to play them at Anfield for Stephen Gerrard’s testimonial. What is the difference between Dublin and Liverpool? About half a million euros! See Dublin! See Boston a couple of years back!
