Murray’s ego surely not this dysfunctional?

272

The most interesting thing about news (cough) that David Murray is considering investing in Newco Rangers, is that the club, chaired by Dave King, is in such a dark place that it will countenance doing business with a man King has so publicly vilified.

You can imagine a whole list of people they would rather approach for money before getting to Zsa Zsa himself.  You now know all you need to know about the response they got from those more palatable than Murray.

My principle concern at this story is that Dave King’s enormously important work at Ibrox will soon come to an end.  It is difficult to overstate how important King has been to the corporate health of this football club.  From the club’s inception in June 2012 he campaigned relentlessly to usurp several iterations of owners, invoking internecine strife at the heart of the club.

Now, three years after taking control, the harsh realities of what he has done and what lies ahead – having to compete with Celtic and what will be close to a £100m turnover, with a club that will turnover in the region of £30m this season, will be evident.  Even to King!

Due to his past form, David Murray will not get near an official position at Newco, but things can happen in the shadows.  It is not beyond the possibility that he will find a few million of conscience money, but for all I think of Murray’s ego, it is surely not dysfunctional enough to see him move into this firing line.  Surely?

“Long live the King!”  Oh how we laughed.

    From today’s Scotsman,

“While there is still a chance the former Norwich stopper….”

Isn’t he still a Norwich player, in which case

    – Has he moved position to somewhere else on the field?

-Has he given up stopping? (I guess we’ll know on Sunday as he’ll probably be playing)

Last trip to their website for me as even this is just wrong, but why let facts get in the way of a “story.” I won’t even rely on their non football stuff as to quote George Orwell.

“The first thing that we ask of a writer is that he shan’t tell lies”

Even in this trivial matter, they can’t be wholly truthful.

Re that last long post — bad spellers of the world untie!

I know a bad tradesman blames his tools but I wear out a laptop every four years and this one is at the end of its cycle.

Running very slowly and the words only appearing sometime after I have finished typing so spell checking in a hurry is impossible.

As an aside, many will have seen the latest print figures for newspapers in Scotland and these show an alarming slide although many now read the news online via the same papers.

Given that many papers have been effectively boycotted by Celtic fans and others for failing to comment on the corrupt practices of the SFA and those in charge at Ibrox, I wonder if there is any significance in the fact that Angela Haggerty, who took dogs abuse for being the editor of Phil MacG’s Downfall, was yesterday announced as the new News Editor at the Herald?

BTW a couple of well known journalists are coming to the One Night in Lisbon dinner just as fans and bringing their friends and family.

If anyone still wants tickets then e-mail me at jjoe88@hotmail.co.uk but they are going fast so be quick.

  5. Murray’s coming back because,

the Celtic supporting £49 Same Club Lie Merchants

have told him, that, no matter how many

Hundreds of £££millions in tax that he swindles

or, how many mibberried trophies by the score

that he steals or robbs from us…..we don’t mind

because, we’re the best fans in the wurld and you’ll

never take that away from us. Mr Bankier told us so!

    So there!

    Should be .com

    So it’s – laurahmccabe@icloud.com

Any support greatly appreciated, and thanks to those who have already responded :-)

Ok Thanks for the prompt CRC

Had intended holding off until “mymhatemick” was sorted

    Here goes

Many of you will be aware of my daughter Laura, and her very special Heart of Gold for those in desperate need of help.

CQN in the past has been very kind to Laura in supporting her charitable drives

Be that HCPT, and paying to take 2 very special kids to Lourdes, or through feeding and clothing for several months an orphanage in Kenya.

This year (Laura claims will be her last as she gets married next year) Laura is doing something totally different, but awesome and will make a Huge, no Gigantic difference to many hundreds of less fortunate girls.

This year Laura will be heading to a special Girls school in Ghana, which is supported by a charity called “Let us Shine” https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=gU9sx_kjRX8

This girls school is run in my view very similar to Mary’s Meals, and the charity/ school was set up by a local Stirling Doctor, Mary Higgins in memory of her Doctor husband.

St Mary’s primary school in Bannockburn have this school as it’s chosen charity, and the school is also sponsored by St Margaret’s Cowie and St Mary’s Raploch, plus the local Stirling churches.

Mary and her husband were very well known in the Stirling school/church community.

    Anyway

This July Laura is heading to Ghana to teach at this girls school for a month

Laura will be only the 2nd fully qualified teacher to teach at the school in its 5 year existence.

We are paying for Laura’s visit, but she is looking to raise £3000 for the school, to feed and cloth the girls.

St Mary’s Bannockburn, where Laura is a teacher are fully supporting and fundraising for this event, with the kids at school all doing wonderful things in supporting The fundraising.

One of the events Laura is looking for support.

On Friday March 23rd the school has arranged a Race Night ( adults only) to be held in the school hall, it’s a BYOB event.

Laura would be extremely grateful if any of the CQN brigade could join us at the race night £5 per ticket- join CRC at his table :-))

Also, very kindly donated by the Walk with Shay team, we have a few very special prizes on offer if CQN’rs were to be kind enough to sponsor the jockeys of the races on the night – again £5 per jockey (CRC will inform on the prizes)

We are also looking for some prizes for the raffle on the night

Thanks for you time and no doubt great support : contact

As discussed, we would like to donate you 8 prizes for each jockey that wins each race

This will be a high quality A3 print and the winner can choose from:

    (2) An awesome pic of the Lisbon Lions holding the Big Cup back home

    (3) A visually “green tainted” print of Cesar holding the BIg Cup

    (4) A superb signed print from a painting of TOHG hanging off the crossbar after winning the 1965 cup final painted by our very own Celtic Rose.

I will try and get a link up tomorrow so everybody can see the pics, They are quality

If you manage to sell all 64 jockeys and decide to move onto selling trainers, we will also donate a further 8 prints.

I hope this helps your daughter’s amazing fund raising cause

  11. Fantastic post ( again) by BRTH.

Agree thta every commercial opportunity has to be explored and ther Museum and Hotel are ambitious and should be supported, I’d also like to explore opportunities for sponsorship of varying scales for everything from Stadium, Lennoxtown to Celtic Tv to programmes and back of socks. Nothing should be ruled out – but accept that the hoops have to be preserved.

At board level, I’d like to see less accountacy and banking types attracted and some more visionary figures approached to take us to the next level.
