Newco did not disappoint with last night’s statement, it was as incoherent, angry and contradictory as you would expect. They claim:
“We are extremely concerned that member clubs were not provided with enough information, or time, to allow them to make fully informed decisions”.
They were allowed 28 days to ask for as much information as they wanted before voting! Newco and most others were able to respond within two days – by choice.
“We are aware several club directors claimed they were being bullied”.
Several people we are not naming were bullied by someone we are not naming. This is like the evidence of wrongdoing they say they have but would rather not show anyone. To quote their founding manager, “Who are these people?”
They want to sound hard but have chosen to shut up instead of revealing anything – nice one.
“Addressing the [financial hardship of many of our clubs]was one of our primary objectives and the resolution we presented could and should have been progressed”.
“The SPFL chose to obstruct our resolution”.
“The fact that this solution was not afforded sufficient consideration defies belief”.
An independent QC was employed to examine their resolution and found it was not competent and could not be put to members. They claim to want independent oversight but completely ignore independent oversight has happened.
“There is precedent within Scottish football that a league must not be compromised by changing the rules during the course of the competition.”
Again, a claim shrouded in innuendo, this time an unexplained precedent. If I was a betting man, I would say they forgot the league schedule was extended in 2008 to accommodate Oldco (I regularly hear of this amnesia), and are referring to the fact that it was not extended as long as they wanted.
“The anger of our fans is understood and shared by our Board, who continue to examine all legal options available.” Newco do so well in court, the SPFL board must be terrified.
The statement confirms they have a problem accepting rules. An independent QC explained to Newco MD Stewart Robertson and the rest of the SPFL board why Newco’s resolution could not be pursued. Robertson was asked if there was anything more he wanted to ask and if he felt the matter had been given sufficient consideration by the SPFL board.
It was not the SPFL board, the chief exec, a retained solicitor or any other malign foe who stopped their resolution, it was an independent QC. These are the rules, they were independently enforced, accept them.
Remember this SPFL vote did not end the Premiership season, all it did was ensure the season will not be voided, all other options remain on the table. It’s not much of a hill to stand and fight on in these difficult times.

Martin Keown thinks we’ve an unfair advantage because we’ve more money than anyone else is Scotland.
Martin obviously hasn’t familiarised himself with Nimmo Smith’s findings…
Anyone out there have a childhood memory of blowing up a wasps nest with some bangers, fleeing, and then being caught by the angry residents? Or of a daft pal opening your budgie cage then watching in astonishment as said budgie went straight to an open window and flew away never to be seen again? asking for a pal.

He’ll be calling for a levelling of the financial playing field in England – not
AAN DUN
In every professional football league one team will have more money than the rest.
Obviously not apparent to the thicko.

Have you never read THE BARD O’WISHAW on here.
Wonder what he thinks about 4th team in EPL going straight into the CL when we have X amount of qualifying rounds and their bottom side getting £100m against our £3.50?
Go do one
Are we just deleting posts at random now,
2 posts with nothing controversial deleted,
getting beyond a joke.

Which posts please?
Philboy,
one post asking Macjay what the Queen and her brood were contributing,
the other a reply to you saying i asked him the question previously and he had not replied.

Only joshing with you. The present crisis has shown that whatever happened back in 2011-2013, it has not resolved the damage done to Scottish Football, first by David Murray, and by everybody else trying to pretend that it didn’t happen or if it did we’ll just go along as if didn’t.
ORDYBHOY64
Strange indeed!
Don’t think either was worth a deletion.
GORDYBHOY64 sorry.
‘The WalkWithShay Legacy Fund’
Good evening CQN, as Jobo posted earlier our very own CRC is going to have our Friday night quiz at 21:00; this will hopefully be the norm for the foreseeable future. Please refer to Jobo’s earlier post today that may help you.
As you all know these are desperate times for lots of families and individuals. We want to do something to help, that is a legacy in memory of Wee Shay, Wee Oscar, Vanessa Riddle, Niamh Curry, Stephen Houston and various others close to our hearts.
Small change to some makes a big difference to others this is not about charity it is about compassion.
‘The WalkWithShay Legacy Fund’ will have some raffles, some auctions
You will be able to purchase services.
you will be able to purchase tickets to some great ‘events’.
We will be looking for donations of prizes or even services that we can use to help our beneficiaries.
We will be seeking information on families or individuals who may need help and maybe would never ask for it (if we don’t know – we cannot help).
Essentially, we are a group of individuals who are extremely fortunate who are not currently impacted by the Coronavirus pandemic.
We simply want to help as many who have. Our group have many years’ experience in supporting good causes and what better cause is there today than financial support for people, through absolutely no fault of their own, need it now and not in a few months when it may be too late.
We cannot do it alone and we do need the help of anybody who is still in a fortunate position to help.
We have already had quite a substantial number of people contact us with offers of help, of which we are extremely grateful. We have also had financial donations of over £400 within a week without proactively seeking donations.
With your help those that need our support now will not walk alone.
CQN we ask to join in the Friday quiz, pass on our story to as many people you think will help.
The CQN family are second to none and always rise to the challenge, I as always have faith in you all.
Watch this space for details of raffles, auctions and the chance to win, not just bid for to events, prizes and services…you will not be disappointed. And remember if you have anything you wish to donate for prizes or details of anyone you think is in need e-mail us walkwithshay@yahoo.co.uk
We will provide details in due course how you can donate financially.
Thank you in advance CQN…
Until we meet again…
Keep the Faith!
Hail Hail!
Keown will be another English pundit saying ‘he’s doing such a good job up there….’
Philboy,
at least the Mod used to post a reason for posts being removed.
Lennybhoy
I can help you with questions and answers when this is over
gordybhoy64
Before you know it we will be setting up a Committee of Public Safety.
Actually that is not a bad idea in these troubled times, now that I come to think about it.
“Sprung from cages out on Highway 9
Chrome-wheeled, fuel-injected, and steppin’ out over the line
Oh, baby, this town rips the bones from your back
It’s a death trap, it’s a suicide rap
We gotta get out while we’re young
‘Cause tramps like us
Baby, we were born to run
Yes, girl ( and Bhoys), we were …..”
………..born to take part in the Friday nite fitba quiz at 9.
See you then . Hopefully we can negotiate in between the 1967 adverts scattered around the screen :-)

“It’s nice to be remembered, especially being a Celtic supporter. To score goals on that day was great. I was jumping through hoops – it was a good day for me and even more so because Celtic won the league.”

Cheers. The current uproar is just a symptom of a game that continues to be a living lie.
There was a time when it looked like Celtic were adopting the right attitude and that was conveyed by blogs.
However there came a point in May 2018 as documented in the new Res12 put to the 2019 AGM, where it became a abundantly clear Celtic were paying lip service to pursuing SFA and it was about then that on line sources who had apparently been supportive just went quiet.
On looking back their support had contradictions which have subsequently been clarified and lead to the conclusion it was not real.

Jobo/anyone, you can also switch off JavaScript for specific sites, so switch it off for cqn only and other links should still work.
_________________________________________________________
Yes, that’s exactly what happens with these stps, here they are again with the correct spelling!
So, to turn off Javascript on CQN (if using Chrome as your browser) then it’s –
> Click on the 3 wee vertical dots at the top right corner of the screen
> Click on Settings
> Under ‘Privacy and Security’ click on Site Settings >
> Click on Javascript
> Where it says “Block” click the “Add” button
In the pop up box where it says ‘Add a site’ type in htpps://www.celticquicknews.co.uk and then click ‘add’
[THIS IS PROBABLY WHERE A MOD DELETES THIS POST!!!]
And that’s it – simples! My limited understanding is that Javascript is then disabled – but only on the CQN site.
So, hopefully that works and we then get a good crowd playing the 9pm quiz.
