Newco choose innuendo instead of action

904

Newco did not disappoint with last night’s statement, it was as incoherent, angry and contradictory as you would expect.  They claim:

“We are extremely concerned that member clubs were not provided with enough information, or time, to allow them to make fully informed decisions”.

They were allowed 28 days to ask for as much information as they wanted before voting!  Newco and most others were able to respond within two days – by choice.

“We are aware several club directors claimed they were being bullied”.

Several people we are not naming were bullied by someone we are not naming.  This is like the evidence of wrongdoing they say they have but would rather not show anyone.  To quote their founding manager, “Who are these people?”

They want to sound hard but have chosen to shut up instead of revealing anything – nice one.

“Addressing the [financial hardship of many of our clubs]was one of our primary objectives and the resolution we presented could and should have been progressed”.

“The SPFL chose to obstruct our resolution”.

“The fact that this solution was not afforded sufficient consideration defies belief”.

An independent QC was employed to examine their resolution and found it was not competent and could not be put to members.  They claim to want independent oversight but completely ignore independent oversight has happened.

“There is precedent within Scottish football that a league must not be compromised by changing the rules during the course of the competition.”

Again, a claim shrouded in innuendo, this time an unexplained precedent.  If I was a betting man, I would say they forgot the league schedule was extended in 2008 to accommodate Oldco (I regularly hear of this amnesia), and are referring to the fact that it was not extended as long as they wanted.

“The anger of our fans is understood and shared by our Board, who continue to examine all legal options available.”  Newco do so well in court, the SPFL board must be terrified.

The statement confirms they have a problem accepting rules.  An independent QC explained to Newco MD Stewart Robertson and the rest of the SPFL board why Newco’s resolution could not be pursued.  Robertson was asked if there was anything more he wanted to ask and if he felt the matter had been given sufficient consideration by the SPFL board.

It was not the SPFL board, the chief exec, a retained solicitor or any other malign foe who stopped their resolution, it was an independent QC.  These are the rules, they were independently enforced, accept them.

Remember this SPFL vote did not end the Premiership season, all it did was ensure the season will not be voided, all other options remain on the table.  It’s not much of a hill to stand and fight on in these difficult times.

Our pursuit of ever cheaper clothing has resulted in our capacity to make clothes being severely reduced – if one thing comes out of this is hopefully looking at what is really important in our various supply chains.

I think you inadvertently give our govt credit if you think they actually have any plan.

  3. AULDHEID,

My mum said that when she worked in Singers during WW2 she was involved in making artillery shells as well as hand grenades, rifle parts and horseshoes.

“appears so, apparently CQN fully supports the Chinese did it conspiracy, can’t challenge that.”

once you watch a couple of youtube video’s regarding coronavirus your suggestion list becomes inundated with “China did it” video’s. therefore very easy to be of that opinion

Coincidence that Carnivorous and Coronavirus are anagrams of each other, I think.

A while back there was a post on here from I think was Brogan,Rogan about the blitz on Clydebank and the Singers factory.

It’s was about the Bombers flew from Germany and bombed where they wanted to. Not Singers or John Browns that could be rebuilt but the people of Clydebank who could not be replaced. Good article and the reason many factory were making armaments

PS my wife works in a private hospital in Dublin (now commandeered by the government system) and they have lost loads of PPE through theft.

    Gene,

Capitalists always make time to plan the undermining of public sector assets, generally they hire consultants and charge them against that asset as providing guidance on improving performance.

They are very meticulous and expensive when making and implementing such plans. So don’t be fooled by apparent bumbling, the current disarray in the English & Welsh HNS is the fruit of a well thought out and implemented plan. As are the number of deaths.

  18. My wife is currently getting over the virus which she picked up while working in a COVID-19 ward at the GRI. She had only done 4 full shifts before falling to it, thankfully, hopefully, it’s minor symptoms, but most of the nurses she worked with over those shifts have now gone down as well. If this is happening throughout hospitals in the UK, which I think it must be, as the vast majority will have the same PPE that my wife had, then the latest statement by Hancok about PPE being a “challenge” this weekend doesn’t bear thinking about. por cierto

WDH- Absolutely a great idea,I’m wary of the NHS ‘Charities ‘ that have appeared, they have even hijacked the Thursday night applause now.Reminds me of the huns legend games….

  21. The Huns are an embarrassment. How the MSM journalists can continue to support their half arsed arguments is beyond me. The best thing to come out of this carry on, is the evidence that they have alienated most of the other clubs.

Their is evidence that the Huns had received brotherly support in the past and Celtic struggled to get any support, however, between the 2012 debackle and this SPFL argument, the Huns have blown it.

The current crew with their DUP orange spokesman will have no support in future.

  23. If the league is played to a finish (hopefully but unlikely) Hearts are favourites to be relegated.

If they are relegated then their new league will benefit greatly due to the large Hearts’ support.

If there is reconstruction and Hearts are saved, then that league will be penalised due to Hearts not being in their rightful position. Surely Ann Budge doesn’t want anyone to be penalised.

  24. Meanwhile……back at the ranch.

  25. Happy Friday evening friends! And, remember,m only 5 hours till the original and best CQN Quiz. I understand that CRC goes to a lot of effort when preparing this so hopefully there’s a decent number of us willing to put our reputations (what reputations?) on the line and take part by guessing mostly wrong answers. And if log on issues are a problem, now might be the time to ‘practice’ accessing via DuckDuckGo (never tried it myself!). Alternatively I managed to find this post of mine from November 2018 which has worked for me since then!

    *** AD-FREE, POP-UP FREE CQN! ***

“For anyone using Windows 10 on their laptop/tablet, etc that’s still having issues with ads and slow loading pages, etc then what I learned was how to switch off Javascript solely on the CQN page. The only downside is that with certain links that are posted you sometimes need to turn Javascript back on before the link will open . Although, right clicking on the link and choosing the ‘open link in new tab’ option often works fine.

So, to turn off Javascript on CQN (if using Chrome as your browser) then it’s –

    > Click on the 3 wee vertical dots at the top right corner of the screen

    > Click on Settings

    > Under ‘Privacy and Security’ click on Site Settings >

    > Click on Javascript

    > Where it says “Block” click the “Add” button

In the pop up box where it says ‘Add a site’ type in htpps://www.celticqwuicknews.co.uk and then click ‘add’

[THIS IS PROBABLY WHERE A MOD DELETES THIS POST!!!]

And that’s it – simples! My limited understanding is that Javascript is then disabled – but only on the CQN site.

The original advice came from Emerald Bee so thank you to that man/woman!

Enjoy the quiz!!! I’ll be there unless I now get red carded.

  26. Ann Budge insists Hearts should be saved from drop because they made ‘substantial investments to try to avoid relegation’

Tynecastle chief says her club should be recognised the same as Dundee United….

    …………..

That may be so Mrs Budgie… but making ” investments” doesnt gaurantee success in any Sport, if you dont get things right ON the field and also with bringing in the right Managers and Coaching Staff….and poor choices in bringing players in via transfers etc !
