News doesn’t pay anymore

801

At the start of the week our man in Poland sent me a link to the Croatian outlet who interviewed Nikica Jelavic.  I mentioned the player in an article yesterday and recalled his earlier comments, which I referenced as background information.    This ‘news’ was subsequently carried by today’s radio and print outlets in Scotland.

It’s maybe a low blow to bring out the ‘Lazy journalism’ point on the day Scotland’s formerly-largest newspaper shed journalists, although the point is perfectly illustrated, but lazy journalism always found its place in the past.  The real problem has little to do with the standard of journalism on offer, it’s about business models in the old media.  News doesn’t pay unless you can tax consumers or bundle it with paid-for football channels, which is not a good thing.

Was in Assam’s for works Christmas doo.

Arrived 30 minutes early as i had a couple of Sparkly Rosies from Sainsbury’s for the ladies (as requested) and asked then to take care of it for me.

Joined the rest of the crew in the wee pub on the corner for a swift refresher and was back prompt at 8.00pm for wur dinner. No sparkly on table in ice as one would imagine but sitting rather forlornly – and warm – on the bar where i was asked to leave it. Not impressed.

That aside, the food was indeed magic.

Staying in Aberdeen on Saturday night before going through to Peterhead on Sunday. I would imagine that our accommodation will be in the city centre but would you happen to know the nearest Catholic church mate?

  13. pauloantony & BOBBY MURDOCH’S CURLED-UP WINKLEPICKERS

Farid’s scored 20 goals for Falkirk this season – that’s more than their other 4 top scorers combined, and far more than any other SFL1 player. Morton’s Jackson is closest on 12 goals.

Not sure if worth a look, but wouldn’t chortle too much if he went to Rangers.

  14. Re Indian food.

Just over a year ago I found myself in Essex, Thurrock, not the nicest place I have ever been, but has the best Indian meal I have ever had, and I can’t for the life of me remember the name, I could through a process of elimination work it out, but I couldn’t be bothered as it will be long enough before I am back there.

Played my 5s league last night and was humiliated by a team of guys who were bigger, better and critically at least 25 years younger – but they could all use their left feet – gives a massive advantage – taking the ball , taking shots with both feet gave them a yard advantage…they didn’t even need..

Any player coming through boy’s club football should at least be able to use both feet by age of 12 imo..

Was in Cafe India on Albion Street at start of November and not one complaint from 6 of us except for the tables which looked a bit like that shitty formica and a bit small.

The Wee Curry shop on Buccleuch St. has never disappointed but is better for, well, wee groups of 2 or 4. I go about once a fortnight.

Thanks for that I had found all the churches in the Diocese but couldn’t find any map to show how close they were to the city centre.

Will say a wee prayer for your pal’s son while I’m there.

Funny how injuries appear with some players when things start going sour….. : )

I’d rather see KL fit – he is no real threat in most games. Every time he pulls on a Hun top his value drops….I suspect he knows that…hence ‘injuries’..?

I watched L/pool the other night against City, and their RB Glen Johnstone cost them silly money, don’t know how much but it was a few mill, Adam is ten times the player GJ will ever be, 20 mill, not a penny less.
