Nomme Kaljur biggest game of the week is tonight

449

In a little over five hours, Nomme Kalju are in domestic league action, their 20th game of the season.  2018’s champions are level in the battle for third place with tonight’s opponents, Paide, so this will be a competitive encounter.  All things considered, the forthcoming games against Celtic are less important than finishing third and qualifying for Europe next season.

They are five points off second and 10 from the top of the table.  It has been a disappointing campaign for the two-time Estonian champions, the most significant positive being this week’s Champions League qualification win in Macedonia over Shkendija.

Like Kilmarnock, who went down to the other CQN last night, Shkendija are preseason, and having won away, should comfortably have taken care of business in the second leg, but weakness in the other kind of legs is likely to have been their downfall.  Both teams were clearly drained from their first competitive action of the season, leading to bizarre results.

Nomme probably have the lowest economic footprint of any club Celtic have faced in European football (Lincoln Red Imps may just edge them).  Wednesday’s game at Celtic Park will certainly contribute more to the economy than their entire 2018 exploits.  This tie is a fairy tale for Nomme Kalju, who will transform their 2019 economic footprint with TV rights for the home game, and a gift to Celtic, who had the far tougher task of overcoming Rosenborg at the same stage a year ago.

The European draw gods were unkind last season, let’s hope they continue to pitch softly to us for another few rounds.

I think someone will pay £4-5m. Of course that’s a helluva drop from the £25m the Orcs had in mind. It won’t be the English but some southern european mob. They’ll have doubled their money but have already paid in advance for the big swedish fella.

The rest of their window is all about selling. Candeias will be a loss, Morelos’s goals will be a loss and Kent’s absence for them will be a loss.

Their usual hubris, having won the pre-season cup, will be their biggest downfall as we head towards 9IAR…..

That will be a laugh Big Wavy if that cheating mob fall into melt down mode

I hope you are right & I hope we go on to do ten in a row COYBIG

I s we the line on candeilas is he doesn’t fancy the competition for places.

Sevco having to sell anything they can seems the more likely scenario.

  3. BIG WAVY,

Morelos will be an undoubted loss for the Huns.To lose 30 goals from your team is very difficult to replace.I thought this Hun team would run us close this season,as I think they will win more games, than last. For all the hype from Huns and SMSM,regards Kent, when you look at the figures, its just hype.I said earlier,I had thought they would run us closer, but without Morelos, they wont.

Paying 23-35 quid for European opposition doesn’t bother me as it is cheaper than the average cost per game on my season ticket for games against mediocre scottish opposition. Particularly when I am being charged 50 quid for games against sevco.

I preferred it when they weren’t in the league and my ticket was £100 cheaper.

Your right we are seeing better matches than the normal run of the mill SPL

however it is an added expense on top of what our fellow supporters pay on

top of their Season Card renewal & as for Sevco charging £50 last Season which

will probably be increased to £55 this Season @ Rent A Midden we will probably

only get 700 tickets for the match on the 1st of September 2019 which is

ridiculous we should inform them to stick their ticket prices up their ass &

not give them any tickets when we play them on Sunday midday on the

29th of December 2019 back @ Paradise end of cause they are more

trouble than what it’s worth & yes they will sell anyone to try & balance

    their dodgy books

Ii see where you are coming from about other supporters.

I don’t go to ibrox. My gripe about th £50 comes from the in increases out £100 on season tickets the year servo came into the top league.

That suggested to me that we were being charged 50 to watch a game v them. I asked at the time if I could have hun games removed from our tickets but was told i would need to move seats to do this.

Is it just me,or are there more adverts on Sky during The Open than before? Should never have been allowed to come off cooncil telly.

You are also right about the extra £100 on our Season Cards to watch us playing Sevco while

they are still around & one would have to move their seat to avoid said matches also PL was

not a happy chappy when they where around for a few Seasons saying that our Club was losing

nearly two million pounds however we are not gaining extra revenue either by allocating them

800 tickets due to dodgy Dave’s stupid idea which was because he along with the hordes of

zombies was fed up in watching our all singing & dancing end celebrating when we where

whooping them @ their rent a midden hence the reduced allocation idea from them what

a shower of numpties they really are

  10. By the by……Nomme Kaljur’s biggest game of the week (allegedly) ended in a 1-1 home draw, if anyone is interested.

    Back to the Efes

  11. I knew Celtic would win the league when I heard last summer Kyle Lafferty was ‘the number one striking target,’ this summer they can’t get rid of him, or Morelos and have no money to buy another striker.

Morelos will probably get a desperate buyer before deadline day Level5 have worked tirelessly since they faked the £11M Chinese bid many moons ago, my guess is still the Championship, I think the players problem goes beyond the realms of indiscipline.

The key was playing Jermaine Defoe and telling their fans he was better, when he’s clearly done, Morelos is about soft loan payback and short term survival, they cannot jettison him fast enough and the goals he scores, if he stays, will not compensate for the money they need in selling him.

    IMO CSC

  12. Celtic should try and sign Moreles and Tavernier.

Zombie club are desperate for money, and both players would enhance and improve our team.

Bargains there in my humble opinion.

Too true. It does seem to put Newco in a dilemma.

Do they stickto their guns and leave McGegor in the squad AND insist they’re still the mighty club with 54 titles?

    OR

Do they quietly drop Greegsie from their Uefa squad and hope no one notices that they’ve just agreed with Uefa – that they are a separate club entirely?

For those complaining about the Open coverage & the heavy advertising..

In the USA, according to the coverage we’re getting at this moment – it seems that there are only USA men competing in this event.

Rahm gets a nod because he’s known over here.

Terrestrial TV is almost unwatchable though & that is where we have the coverage – NBC.

We used to take the BBC/Peter Alliss & co for granted but bhoy how we miss them.

Since we don;t have the Golf Channel we had NO live coverage during those first two days. So, at the end of days one & two Mrs FTW & watched the highlights on YouTube.

Mercifully, it was the UK commentators and we heard Dougie Donnelly & perhaps someone who sounded like Sam Torrance??

That commentary team had time for every player – the famous & the overachieveing unknown and wherever they hailed from was of no consequence.

I will wait aptiently for the YouTube version tonight and go a play with my grandchildren.

Andrew Bertolacci due to speak with Celtic this week.

Bertolacci allegedly being offered a 2 year deal from Celtic. Florentina are trying to nip in and keep him in Italy, as he had a previous loan spell at Genoa, but fear they may have missed their opportunity.

  17. Tommy Smith scores for Stoke against the mighty Tranmere (who are better than Connah’s Quay)

  19. BBC should have at least bid for live Golf ,but I don’t think they ever made a bid,for me they are overloaded with people,I said many times on here it’s a gravy train, people picking up good money ,doing nothing.
