O’CONNELL RECALLED FROM CORK CITY

CELTIC have recalled Eoghan O’Connell early from his loan spell with Cork City.
The 20-year-old centre-half sustained a groin problem after playing only five games for the Irish outfit.
Cork boss John Caulfield confirmed the news after his side’s 2-0 win over Shamrock Rovers on Monday.

He admitted: “Eoghan went back to Glasgow earlier today after Celtic pulled the plug on his loan deal.

“They have recalled him and he’s their player, so we have to accept the decision.
“Celtic were unhappy with his groin injury and we had no call on that and it’s hard to know if we will get him back.”
This the second time a temporary transfer concerning O’Connell has been cut short in what has been an injury jinxed season for Celtic’s central defenders.
Eoghan had just two months at League One Oldham Athletic last year before being told to go back to Parkhead.
Celtic also recalled Ryan Christie from his loan spell at Inverness after the talented playmaker picked up a knee injury.
