It’s good to be back. A power outage at our datacentre on Saturday caused servers to crash and subsequent database problems. Our thanks to Andrew in Belfast for his invaluable help, again…
Trying hard to ignore speculation of various players coming our way, plenty of time for that later in the month, although I will add a note of caution. The fact that a journalist gets confirmation from Neil Lennon that he is able to sign a £6m player does not constitute a promise to do so. It’s little more than bait, for those who still read such sources.
I’ve heard nothing but good things over the years about Georgios Samaras. He is a player who flourishes on confidence, and support, and does so most often at the highest level. In Europe he is Celtic’s out-ball, a player capable of bringing others into the game, turning defence into attack. It is at this rarefied atmosphere that his goal-scoring has also been most effective. Ironically his style is less effective in the SPFL, where Celtic spend far less time 80 yards from goal.
A considerable reason for the low return in the Champions League this season was that everyone knew how reliant we’d become on Georgios. He was heavily marked; by the time the ball got to his feet, three opponents triangulated around him.
It’s no surprise he has offers from Spain, and no doubt elsewhere, to consider. If he leaves I hope his lasting memories will be cheers of support, not his harsher experiences.
Definition of poor IT planning: datacentres who host their Status page at their own datacentre. “We’re down, but you can’t read this, because we’re down.”

That’s a blessing HH
Ryecatcher:
Honestly, from a neutral’s vantage he has put your club to the sword. So much so that I think Liverpool (a club I like) will be a winner in memory only. Like Leeds in the 70’s or Wolves or Burnley….

Nice to hear from you.Happy New Year to you and yours.
You`re probably right about the standard of play at Easter Rd. V Hearts.
Perhaps the perceived lack of quality may be related to the passion of both sides.
I just thoroughly enjoyed the contest and,I`m ashamed to say, the undercurrent of nastiness which reminded me of ,let me think now……..
Must say,I also enjoyed the well deserved result.:-)

In a Man U v Liverpool contest, I am in the Mersey cause I like Everton and Liverpool, in that order. Spent time in Wavertree. There are loads of scouse hating mancs, but also the reverse. I heard a joint company of Everton Liverpool fans sing the Munich song in a club in Liverpool in the 80s. I was a bit shocked at their mutual Man U hatred.
Boys plz ignore previous post & petition from me.
This is the correct one.

totally agree, on trinkets alone, you would have to say the most successful and probably the best manager this country has seen. His regeneration of teams over the years has been remarkable.
Not popular on here but a great man, great manager and a great Scot.
Back tae lurkin.

CRC, Hope you are well, thats great news on Wee Oscar a tonic for us all this evening :-)
Big Cup Winners….
First and foremost Celtic is my club and have been since I was a wean at the front of the jungle, dodging ELD bottles, and watching mesmerised when Jinky got the ball.First love and last love.
Geography and free time dictate I watch Liverpool play more than Celtic these days….always liked them as soon as my boyhood hero Kenny signed for them in 1977.There is a lot of affection for Celtic on Merseyside.I see and hear this for myself.
Unfortunately, the company I work for do a lot of our corporate customer entertaining at Old Trafford….I suffer in silence at times, but the prawn sandwiches are good.Man United fans hate every other club apart from their own and are never magnanimous in defeat.I believe this is a personality defect they copied from their last manager.
He didn’t put Dalglish to the sword and was lucky Kenny left the first time.
Brendan Rogers will wipe the floor with David Moyes…..wait and see.

Billy was a good manager, but building a team in a year that dominated for a while after he left, never realised how good he was :-0 HH

Hunskelper….
The point I am trying to make is that most ManUre fans I know, actually HATE all other teams.
They are the worst losers I have ever encountered in all my years bar none.
Magnanimous is not in their vocabulary.
W W C
Maybe…
Think its odd when someone says his best times at CP are based on events in the stands rather than the glory on the park!

Just my opinion about Liverpool’s future, nothing else. Club’s tend not to be perennially at the top in England eh ? Where were Chelsea a few years back ? Or even Man U ?
It’s only 4 hours up the Mway to Glasgow. I’d miss the M62 turn off and watch a perennially great club, our club, Glasgow Celtic. :-)

And I was wrong about Mastorovic, I ment Hooiveld.

I hate all other teams, don’t get the 2nd team or favorite English team mentality.
If there bad losers that a good thing in my book as the saying goes ….
Show me a good loser
And I’ll show you a loser(or Liverpool fan) :-) HH
