So we really think spending more money on mature oven ready players (as our domestic rivals did) who would be playing motherwell or st Mirren with 2 banks of 5 each week will then transfer us into contenders in euro groups where we play 6 games against teams who really do try to play football and have the ability to do it. It is 2 different sports. Poles apart. Just have a look and see how many non top 5 league teams qualify for last 16 or even get into Europa this next few weeks. Maybe 1 Dutch and maybe 1 Portuguese for last 16. Both bigger TV markets than us and where there is more competition. Pissing money away on expensive ‘proven’ players has cost us dearly over the years with no better returns in CL.
