Oscar Knox Paving Stone

1523

Last year at BMCUWP’s hootenanny in McChuills, many CQNers clubbed together and raised funds to buy something appropriate in memory of Wee Oscar. A fantastic amount was raised and we are delighted to announce a paving stone was purchased at very, very, favourable rates from Celtic, and now has its pride and place very close to the statue of Big Jock.

The tribute reads, Wee Oscar Knox, Heart of a lion, Courage of a champion.

Make sure you look out for it next time you are at Celtic Park.

I posted last week about Mash giving up the naming rights co he prob found out they were not his.

A pound down the drain, I would wager that would piss him off more than losing a million.

I would doubt the polis would have acted that quickly on anything his team has said tho, they have been after them for some time.

I will be shocked and well surprised if minty is ever in the frame for anything tho.

IMO, he should be the one who they go after, but it’s scotland, the cabal need their scapegoat, and there are a few to choose from.

The only hope I can see is some of them singing their hearts out, even then, who knows what lengths the will got to to protect those and such as those.

  14. 7th December 2011 to 15 December 2011. Stewart Regan prepared a statement that used the “ongoing discussions between HMRC and Ranger” line as the reason for awarding the license back in May 2011 and not questioning it thereafter. This caused consternation in the Rangers camp to whom it was rather strangely forwarded for approval. The last thing they wanted was public attention placed back on a bill that was still outstanding in December 2011 and for which they were still in dispute with HMRC, not agreement of any kind. Indeed such was the consternation it caused it was said that if the SFA put the suggested statement out it would only cause as much issues for the SFA as Rangers. It so transpired that on the back of the consternation in December a dinner date was arranged for 20th December with Mr Regan and Mr Ogilvie to talk various larger matters over although the DOS tax bill no doubt got a mention. http://www.scribd.com/doc/146504920/Licence-Issues

Note. This bizarre episode suggests that pressure for clarification as a result of an on line petition created this series of events including Tweets from Mr Regan on 17 Jan 2012 that the bill in question had not crystallised when licence granted

http://i.imgur.com/mZfLJ7t.jpg and as reported by Phil Mac Giolla Bhain here in Jan 2012 http://www.philmacgiollabhain.ie/the-need-to-be-crystal-clear-about-the-uefa-licence-story

Evidence suggests that it had crystallised in March or by 31st May and it was an overdue payable at both 30 June and 30 September and questions should have been asked by SFA to prove the conditions in Annex VIII applied to deem the item as not being an overdue payable. Rangers had to provide proof that the item was not an overdue payable and “ongoing discussions” does not constitute proof against the criteria.

  15. Mags,

Yep, initially thems will attend in droves.

When they are getting pumped every week due to no financial input in their team, thems will disappear in droves as history shows.

My only regret is that….we should have strengthened our team to ensure we keep thems in their place…

  16. Been lurking for ages and thought has just occurred to me, (apologies if asked before)

If Ashley is going to invest in servco and use them to get free publicity through Europe, then

how do servco qualify as they don’t have published accounts AND can’t play for three years?

    Superb.

  19. I watched the Celtic Derby in the pub last night. It was what I had expected. Lots of effort and little quality.

I wasn’t sure who I wanted to win – even when the goal was scored. I was so hopelessly compromised I felt like an SFA President. I consider myself Celtic (Keltic) rather than Scottish or British. My hope is that one of the two will qualify (as both can’t with Germany in the group). So, I was hoping one of them would take 6 points rather than 3/3 as that would probably eliminate both. I suspect it will be Germany & Poland though.

I’ve been really saddened at the tone of the blog over the weekend due to the antagonism from both sides. It was nice therefore to see such a positive blog from Paul today. And it got me thinking.

Perhaps it is time that we set up a CQN fund to build on the great work that has been done over the last few years. It seems to me that the same motley crew constantly put their hands in their pockets for every cause that is taken up.

We’ve already got the Kano Foundation. What about a Wee Oscar Fighting Fund (because the wee man WAS a fighter). If everyone who posts or lurks on here was willing to set up a Direct Debit of say £1 or £2 per month (no more – to make it all inclusive) we could have a considerable fund readily available to cover events like Oscars paving stone and the Herald Ad ETC.

We appear to already have a unofficlal “CQN committee” of willing and trustworthy guys in place and it wouldn’t take too much organisation to formalise that a wee bit.

While I’ve got the mike….I propose treble winning captain Tom Boyd as President.

OK, Paul, BRTH etc I’ve done all the spadework. Just get on with it :-)

    What do you all think?

Can I claim a lift to the Saltzburg game? Or should we have a swally and let the train take the strain? :)

  21. TET

I agree that minty is well in with the Edinburgh elite, and he probably “has the pictures” for a number of bankers, brokers etc and that he will be afforded protection.

However, his family company seems to have indulged in some sharp practices re purchasing MIH assets and shafting MIH pensioners. When such Maxwellesque behaviour comes into the public domain, which it will in due course, the establishment will drop him like a hot brick.

I am confident that he will be called to account. I’d love to see him squirm under cross examination from a decent QC. (Donald Findlay??) Now that would be good bear on bear action.

  22. Weakened teams expected at scot v England game……fans cheated again…..even worse talk of wonder boy lewis macleod of sevco expected to play…..all being done to get the huns back into the fold…..just wonder if its Strachan who is picking the team…..strange them Dundee utd and Aberdeen teams don’t play with a centre forward ?????

  23. TET

While I tend to agree with you that Minty is unlikely to be collared for anything – a lot will depend upon CW and Grier

White as we know had a habit of recording conversations and if he had meetings with Minty he might have been taping it – just in case !

Grier is the key – since he had links to Minty and Ticketus – how convenient!

If he is prepared to take the rap and keep stum – then the trail goes cold

    Will he or won’t he?

As others have stated – the much bigger scandal is the whole Edinburgh based cabal of people like Minty, Souter etc and the bankers like GM and others

Perhaps in that grander scandal Minty might have to play the Grier role?

    How funny would that be?

  25. I sincerely hope and pray that Sevco FC officially die a death before the Cup Semi.

The whole of Scotland can truly do without that particular ‘spectacle’.

As my old man says, there are 3 years+ of pent up rage inside what is now the worst element of the Ibrox ‘faithful’.

Despite all that has happened, despite all the clear evidence of who is responsible for the death of their club (hopefully soon to be clubs), Celtic FC and fans remain the focus of their rage. The Cup Semi will see that unleashed as never before.

If these legal proceedings trigger MA to do a runner leaving Sevco to rot and die, many 1000s of Celtic fans and many others besides will be eternally grateful.

    There are numerous examples of this, Maxwell was not of Brit stock, minty is, and don’t mention Jeffery Archer >}

I like the idea of hun on hun, sadly I just can’t see it happening.

Had too much insight into how the cabal works to believe anything like that will ever happen.

I hope to god you are proven right and me wrong, but I won’t be holding my breath.

The overriding factor is that it’s scotland, the english msm really don’t give a toss, C4 and Alex Thomo did a bit, but ever he-they were warned off.

I posted on his blog for some time, got a few replies from him, till I mentioned the cabal, never got another post published.

All I asked was why there are no progs about the brotherhood and their dodgy dealings, it makes you wonder so it does.
