Oscar Knox Paving Stone

1523

Last year at BMCUWP’s hootenanny in McChuills, many CQNers clubbed together and raised funds to buy something appropriate in memory of Wee Oscar. A fantastic amount was raised and we are delighted to announce a paving stone was purchased at very, very, favourable rates from Celtic, and now has its pride and place very close to the statue of Big Jock.

The tribute reads, Wee Oscar Knox, Heart of a lion, Courage of a champion.

Make sure you look out for it next time you are at Celtic Park.

Broonie and possibly Lustig won’t play against Dundee. Charlie will need to step up and earn the plaudits he gets when playing for Scotland

    Broonie and lustig

You hear that from a bloke in a chippie in Dalry where an agent had been in for a steak pie supper?!?!

(mildly) seriously. Have you heard anything ref Broonie or just wisely surmising.

Sadly I’d expect lustig to miss several games given how he described his hammy strain.

“Charlie Mulgrew, now there’s an enigma – lackadaisical and anonymous in a Celtic jersey under Ronny Delia”

I strongly disagree with your assessment of Charlie in a Celtic jersey.

PS AND it was our first victory there since 2013, apparently.

I take it there will be queues around the sheriff court this morning

  6. Charlie Mulgrew was drafted in from nowhere for the 2-0 Sammi game, he did a great job wide left, a couple of weeks later we had no cover at CH for a game against the Lites, he did an outstanding job that night and has never looked back.

Charlie’s performance on Friday didn’t surprise me, if he had a right foot he would be an unbelievable player :-)

  7. Completely forgot the red against the reds!

    What a doughball I am!

Think it got lost in the euphoria of vvd’s winner (that a guy in a Smokie shop just told me about!) and the fact that the 2nd yellow was do laughably soft!

Right. Just for fun. Strangest places you’ve heard significant celtic news…..

1 Cadette was leaving – DR headline seen on newspaper stand while on holiday in a wee village called Afitos in Greece.

2 Lubo helping to put 5 in against the FOD. In Sydney. Picked up the paper, hollered a GIRUY that TD would have been proud of. And then almost got punched by the girl behind the counter who happened to be from Norn Ireland…..!

My sources are as reliable as Chic Young’s and he’s a pro(can’t put smiley as it truncates the post!)

    PS

Broonie caused a similar debate a couple of years ago.

I think there is more time in international football as they play prosaic tactics due to unfamiliarity of the squad.

Also, if you view Fri through the opposition lens, Ireland play 2 wingers and 2 wide(1st at least) which left 2 in mid being bossed by our 2 with at least one other tucked in.

Easy night for Broonie and Charlie based on how we view say Aberdeen when we set up that way

Some do. They all stop at Stirling.

It’s Aberdeen I don’t like. One of the few places in scotland I just don’t take to. Contrast with Aberdeenshire which is stunning.

“Mulgrew was excellent on Friday night but he has been very far from excellent for Celtic this season. Any idea why?”

As I said earlier, I see Charlie`s performances for Celtic differently from others, it would seem. I think he has been very effective and influential.

Nevertheless, Coneybhoy makes good points about the different nature of an International game .

  15. Think a player only automatically misses the next match if it is a straight red.

Broonie got 2 yellows to earn the red.

  16. Anyway dentist for me in 5 minutes.

Two yellow cards incur disciplinary points for each, along with an automatic one-match ban.

I think copper wire was invented by 2 loons fighting over a penny.

One loon asks to borrow 50 quid.

    The other says:

40 quid? What do you need 30 quid for? I’ve only got 20 quid, here’s 10.

  21. FFin’ legal minds deep in contemplation:

“As far as I remember the judge instructed a full enquiry and BDO had untold powers through the courts. The Oldco was not to be “totally” liquidised until a full report was provided.”

    ——

“I think you’re correct in saying that.”

    ——

“The prospect of the whole thing being declared illegal and the oldco receiving significant damages to make it solvent with a significant liquid asset base is high. All creditors may be paid 100% with millions still in the Oldco.

In fact there is even a possibility that everything could be returned to SDM in time. it is going to get interesting in a while but it will still take some years..”

    ——

“Is it not only a few non football people the EBT appeal is around”

    ——

“I think the best we can hope for is that the crooks that have partaken in the systematic pillaging of our club find themselves sharing a cell with Bubba in the Bar-L and that the naked truth comes to light about the Whyte deal”

    ——

“I’d love to hear from a Statistician what the chances are of the two guys in charge after and before the Liquidation event, being called Green and Whyte.”

    ——

“I’ve never heard of anyone…. especially victims of a crime being asked to stay away from Court.

    Why are we different?”

    ——

“The Rangers Con unfolding at last.

There’s a Hollywood blockbuster in there somewhere.”

    ——

The one about millions being left over for Rangers after 100% payment to creditors, well, that will take some beating.

But the last sentence succeeded beyond my wildest dreams.

  24. Just looking at the Co-efficient ranking our score 5 years ago of 2.2 was by far our worse year . That will be dropped next year, I think we have 7.5 pts this year so far plus 20% of National co-efficiency. If the National team continue to do well that will help Scottish Clubs plus another few Europa Cup wins will see a very good boost to figures. After that bit of early morning work, I’m off ooot to Golf. See ye later.
