Oscar Knox Paving Stone

1523

Last year at BMCUWP’s hootenanny in McChuills, many CQNers clubbed together and raised funds to buy something appropriate in memory of Wee Oscar. A fantastic amount was raised and we are delighted to announce a paving stone was purchased at very, very, favourable rates from Celtic, and now has its pride and place very close to the statue of Big Jock.

The tribute reads, Wee Oscar Knox, Heart of a lion, Courage of a champion.

Make sure you look out for it next time you are at Celtic Park.

  1. Hi Guys.

    On a totally different subject.

The other half is an avid fan of Passenger who is appearing at the O2 on the 25th.

I’ve blotted my copybook, and am in the dog house, for not getting tickets on time as it’s a now a sell out!

By any chance, does any unfortunate CQNer have a couple of tickets they are unable to

    use?

Will gladly pay the full amount (and a bottle of nice malt) to get back in the good books!

    Hail! Hail!

  2. As Phil McG has been telling everyone since the new club started, they are spending more than they are earning and they do not have a credit line. The monthly O/D is between £600k and £1m.Hence the need for bailouts.

Ashley has subbed them £3m till April and his man Llambas is scouring the books. IMO, the arrests etc. have killed off any prospect of another public share issue. They probably need another £6m to see out the season. MA seems to be the only source of funds. He can’t increase his shareholding since that would take him over the 10% limit HE agreed with the SFA. There are no further assets to securitise, except the stadium.

Will he, won’t he? I doubt it.

Thanks for that info re the wee German team

memory is fading as the years pass but i’m

forever amazed at the time and effort our bhoys

put in to support the team, and that sight of them

marching up towards the park will live with me

    always.

  4. Hi Mick,

guess I should answer since it’s my paranoid line. No expert but will the 3 years not be up end of this season? Published accounts a big problem for second rangers at the mo. Isn’t that reported to be due to contingent liabilites? So we’re back to the deeds?

I sincerely hope and pray that Sevco FC officially die a death before the Cup Semi.

The whole of Scotland can truly do without that particular ‘spectacle’.

I’d love to see him squirm under cross examination from a decent QC. (Donald Findlay??) Now that would be good bear on bear action.

*Isn’t it ironic that Findlay has just come out and said that they are deid

  7. ger57,

But isn’t this what Ashley does….he buys up faded distressed sporting brands that have lost their lustre, that are on their backside, on the brink of well, not liquidation OBVS, not dignified enough. Lonsdale, Donnay, Dunlop, Slazenger all had their brand-leader years.

*I have no idea…mibbees I’ll go on a Vale/Renton list and ask why….I have a Renton acquaintance out here but he’s in the early stags of dementia so that’s nae good.

  10. I am praying every day that the scum die before the semi final. I never want to share a pitch or stadium with The Beelzebub X1 ever again. For my children and grandchildren’s sake. I like the hun free sanitised Scottish Premier League.

  11. Tontine Tim

SD stocks those former top brands but they sell at discount prices, junk prices even. These brands may have a “cult” following and have steady, but unspectacular sales.

The reformed Rangers is well on the way to becoming such a brand and they already have a “cult” following. (No sniggering at the back now.)

Hope you get the tix. Passenger always puts on a great show. Follow him on Facebook/ twitter, one thing he always does is busk somewhere before the official gig. You should be able to surprise the Mrs with an unofficial close encounter.

  14. Mags

We had joy we had fun,

    When we saw their liquidation,

    But the zombie upstart,

Needs the bullet in the heart.

  15. Yes, MA might have made his billions from rescuing dying companies but I wonder how many had an equivalent ‘baggage’.

RFC/Sevco legal proceedings will take many, many years to play out.

I can’t see MA wanting in on that.

  16. ger57,

Right yes. I’ve read that SD use their bulk buyer leverage to entice you in with cheap Nike and Adidas shoes in the hope that you fill your basket with his junk brands whilst searching for the exit.

I really hope your analysis is spot-on. I am certainly no expert and won’t become a squeaky wheel on the topic. Just keep coming back to a fundamental – his spend to get a competent team in the SPFL title race and possibly the CL qualifiers is – let’s agree on £20-50m as a range?

And he gets another junk brand for the ole portfolio.

  17. The Comfortable Collective on

The rangers fans will be in ‘argumentative’ mood when they play Celtic due in no small part to the fact their previous club, Rangers, are deid, and they are still smarting, albeit in a cognitive dissonance, way about it.

I think Celtic supporters should approach this game dressed as clowns, waving jelly and ice cream, etc, etc, etc. Similar to the atmosphere at the league game at ibroke, with beach balls, etc before Seville.

The main reason being, that rangers supporters will be causing major trouble the weekend of the Celtic – the rangers league cup game.

To make sure the “both sides are as bad as each other” shite doesn’t get spouted, the Celtic supporters should dress en masse as clowns, to re-enforce the fun attitude Celtic supporters are taking for that fixture, and lay the blaim to the predictable agro at the hands of the (perma)ragers.

wouldn’t fancy having to deal with some of those rabid dogs, in a clown suit and armed with a custard pie lol.
