Our redoubtable former manager

1226

No one on Celtic Quick News ever doubted Gordon Strachan, did they?

It’s been a long 8 years since that dark week but our former manager demonstrated enormous resilience to win three consecutive league titles and twice qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League.  He is perfect for the Scotland role, although, to be frank, I didn’t think his squad had last night’s result in them.  Well done to all.

We have a special Father’s Day offer for the Willie Wallace book.  Order between now and Thursday morning and we’ll include a Father’s Day card, complete with your own message. See the big graphic to the right..

You can choose from two cards, see explanation and choices here, one with Tony Watt after scoring against some Spanish lot, the other with Billy McNeill receiving some trophy or other.

Click on the button below, enter the text you would like to appear in the middle of the card, and Tony will post your book off in time for Father’s Day.

Did you enjoy the latest CQN Magazine?  Good one, isn’t it?

  3. petec,

The board should also be made to act on their responsibilities, they there to protect the interests of the shareholders, while the club are being cheated in a corrupt organisation, every day they are silent is a day they are complicit in corruption, what was that saying about good men being silent ?

It’s been too many years now for me to believe they are good men anymore, they are up to their necks in this their silence has been a deafening defence of the status quo, my biggest problem right now is the PR the support give them, our ethos is not their ethos, to me,that has become very apparent, they are living off our back, they are complicit in this corruption and we are too easy on them because of our loving nature, we are being treated like huns by our board and people need to wake up to that.

  4. THE EXILED TIM – Irvine is playing a blinder here. He doesn’t get to charge those fees for nothing.

Celtic_First – an alternative is required. Wouldn’t they just ignore the magazine too?

Vmhan – books will be there for Willie to sign plus will have some of the Fathers Day cards and have enough CQN Annuals left over from Xmas to give everyone there a free copy to spread the word.

  5. On Dermot Desmond

I’m sure that he is a very astute businessman in a way that Minty would have loved to have been

Like most billionaires I’m sure that he has done a lot of things that could be called in to question

However it should always be remembered that when asked he has put up real money

If all it was was a business call then he probably could have made more out of other deals than CFC

Like many fans I would have liked us to have spent more on better players but the huns tried that and see how it worked out for them!

The way we are now means that there will always be a CFC living within our means

If we get out of Scotland then the whole ball game will change but until then let’s just enjoy things

Has anyone seriously considered the possiblity that this Charlottefakes character may be just that.

A fake, teasing a load of paranoid tims with outlandish tales of masonic cabals and dark doings etc

    Just a thought

    I dont know myself,

How genuine are these documents/tapes etc that he/she purports to have

  8. What is the Stars – fake they are not. 100% the real thing.

On Rod – I have spoken to his PA several times and she said that regardless of where he is in the world, first thing each morning he will check BBC website for the news and then head over to CQN for his Celtic fix. So he is a lurker!

Yes, they would ignore the magazine too, but the magazine, as a publication covering Scottish football, is entitled to call the SFA et cetera and put the questions to them. A private citizen cannot do that. If the SFA fudges, prevaricates, obfuscates and dodges, this too is a story.

There are CQN people qualified to prepare and put the questions, professionally. What they lack at the moment is any editor who would print the answers or non-answers. And this is the gap that CQN Magazine can fill.

I’ve read a few emails on here tonight about, what our club should or should not do regarding the ongoing revelations from the artist formerly known as.

    Personally, I would rather we

    1) went about securing our transfer targets

    2) sat back, and to quote our host, didn’t interrupt our enemy whilst they were making a mistake

Yes, but there is injustice crying out. Why should we ignore it? When have Celtic fans ever ignored it?

  16. 16 roads - Neil Lennon walks on water. on

Roy Croppie – I know what you are saying mate.

A good friend of mine is engaged to a girl from Airdrie.

Even more Celtic mad than he is,and that’s saying something.

The issue of the UEFA licence is covered in depth at

    http://www.celticunderground.net/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=787:did-the-sfa-deny-celtic-a-place-in-the-champions-league&catid=47:season-2011-2012&Itemid=83

If anyone cares to plough through it they will note lack of clarity in Regan’s response as commented on in the lower part of the article.

That he was talking to Rangers re the SFA position and in his suggested response fails to state UEFA position accurately tells us all we need to know about the skullduggery that was afoot.

You have lost me on Irvine.

he is doing what he is for the benefit of them…..no

I have yet to see anything that is to our benefit.

Could you please expand, I am maybes not seeing the woods for the trees.

On C1st’s question about the CQN mag.

Maybes someone out there might just read the mag, and see that some sort of injustice is going down in scotland, and maybes they will bring this injustice to the attention of someone who will do something about it…..worth a try, otherwise we are pissin in the wind.

  19. Croppybhoy,

Must admit I’ve seen that argument rolled out a few times and I’m becoming less and less convinced every time I see it, he blocked supporters buying a bigger share why ?

He knows a sure thing that why, there was never any risk so stop making out like he is anything other than a slightly more astute Murray.

His nationality means nothing he’d sell his granny, in fact I heard he did and made a tidy wee profit, the kids were a but upset but soon got over it

We should only be bringing in 1 or 2, if we keep all of our Young players.

I think Fraser will be bought, for a fortune, as Kojo jibber jabbered about a wee while ago, he elaborates a lot about things but he does talk sense, no matter what anyone says.

It would be very easy for me to just start attacking Kojo to get somewhere. That is where Establishments happen though, I’d think, Shirley.

    …………..

No I’m sorry but thats the CFC board line, IMO we are Celtic football club and we have been shafted for over £100 million just going by the cheats getting into CL at OUR expense.

Your route is to do nothing and let them get away with it if I read you correctly?

I respect your view of course but the guilty need to be punished IMO

If Paul says it’s all right, I’m happy to try. He would need to confirm that it’s all right though because it’s his name that’s in the public domain.

  23. Don@t listen to a lot of music these days beyond ambient, classical etc…

But I must say up the loft I have plenty rockumentries, but if I’ve seen a better one than that Eagles one I can’t remember.

Brilliant, although like all good documentries it leaves you asking questions.

    Like…

Was Joe Walsh a casualty, and why didn’t I stick to Plan A and marry Linda Ronstadt.

The point isn’t to make anyone in the MSM take notice. The point is to be able to put the questions to the SFA et al. At the moment, the SFA will ignore any emails we send them. If you are commissioned to write about the matter for a publication, you are entitled to phone them up and put your questions to them. You might get nothing back, but you are entitled to ask.

  25. Clashcitybhoy on

    Celtic_first

I am not suggesting we ignore it, however, I personally wouldn’t want to divert resources to it, because

    1) it would be costly, and we would probably need to employ a lawyer, accountant and a spin doctor at £100k each pa, which would be costly, and, I would rather the £300k was put into youth development/ stadium upgrades / signing someone like McFadden etc whom I reckon you would get for that sort of wage

    2) last year they imploded without our assistance, and, my personal view is they are doing a fine job of replicating last year’s success :-)

I agree with you on the resources. Let the bampots do it. Also known as crowdsourcing. However, if I were a bampot trying to untangle some of these knots and Celtic had key information that might help, I’d be very glad to receive it, even if indirectly.
