Our redoubtable former manager

1226

No one on Celtic Quick News ever doubted Gordon Strachan, did they?

It’s been a long 8 years since that dark week but our former manager demonstrated enormous resilience to win three consecutive league titles and twice qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League.  He is perfect for the Scotland role, although, to be frank, I didn’t think his squad had last night’s result in them.  Well done to all.

We have a special Father’s Day offer for the Willie Wallace book.  Order between now and Thursday morning and we’ll include a Father’s Day card, complete with your own message. See the big graphic to the right..

You can choose from two cards, see explanation and choices here, one with Tony Watt after scoring against some Spanish lot, the other with Billy McNeill receiving some trophy or other.

Click on the button below, enter the text you would like to appear in the middle of the card, and Tony will post your book off in time for Father’s Day.

  1. Scandalous and contemptible that a fat ugly hun Director like Mclelland is looking to dig up dirt on Celtic’s majority shareholder & his son, get the gloves off Dermot!!

One thing for sure. Moonbeams is still heavily involved at the time of these releases.

Why should I need to remind people who are supposed to be some of the best financial brains In the game, according to many on here, about their responsibilities to their own investors ?

    Really, why ?

Why should this need to be raised by a supporter and minority shareholder ?

We have supposedly the best CEO in the country who is responsible for all share holders interests, yet appears to be working in the interest of a few individuals, it’s not my responsibility, yet if I raise it as an issue, I am the problem, how does that work ?

I won’t tug my lock to a banker, ever

Why are you so defensive about it?

It was just a suggestion. Forget it if it’s such a big deal.

  5. Is it not bad enough they cheated us?

Is it not bad enough they have pumped the British taxpayers for £millions?

Is it not enough they are doomed to oblivion ?

Is it not enough they have pumped creditors for £millions?

Is it not enough that the SFA has colluded with them in order to preserve them?

Is it not enough they are all pot ugly?

But to cap it all they are having a pop at Sally?

    Evening Bhoys & Ghirls

Had a great day today at Pollok Park at the Giffnock 2nd Youth Soccer Festival. This year girl teams were involved. Caityrollercoaster made her debut for Giffnock U13s girls who were also making their competitive debut as a team. Girls tried hard but were up against some experienced and competitive teams, and were well beaten. Hopefully they will stick with it and will improve as the team develops.

Saw Celtic U13s girl play 3 times, and they had some very very good girl players who could easily play in the bhoys team. Amazing to see vision, touch and ability at this tender age.

Finally well done to CQNer gscbhoy who is heavily involved with this. I know he puts an incredible about of time into this. A unsung hero.

Done accept their apology’s Demand cash for the travel, stress, and the worry they have caused you.

  9. Wonder if the Great Desmondo, PL, and others, are lurking?!

    What do they care?

    We’re all just malcontents anyway.

Remember – DD thinks that R*****s are a great historical club. No mention of them cheating their way to success, and defrauding other clubs, the taxpayer and hundreds of small creditors out of hundreds of millions of pounds. Not to mention Ogilvie and the cabal at Hampdump.

  12. Evening all

Another fine day by the shore. Barby done guests gone. I was busyva bit earlier on tsfm making the following points.

The CF info is real, not made up and is not from CW.

It was obtained by dubious means that render it totally toxic to msm. That from two respected journalists who on past experience would be more than happy to use it but cannot.

That applies to the rest of msm, some of whom might be happy to hide behind the toxicity but not all, hence its as if the “evidence” does not exist in the “real” world although it does in cyberspace. Tamrabam’s excellent analogy sums it up colourfully well.

This issue now is how to get it out of cyberspace into the real world without the message carriers becoming toxic themselves. The thinking is MPs can use parliamentary privilege to enable the messages to cross from one dimension into another.

Now I’m not sure of the detail of how PP works and cannot do the necessary research but if someone else knows please post.

There are a number of issues that could be raised but the first hurdle is to get what CF has leaked admissable. This suggests writing to your MP telling them of grave concerns with regard what might amount to criminal activity in Scottish football and ask your MP and MSP to table a question at Parliaments asking if the SG or UKG is aware of the damning information being leaked, is it taking any steps to establish the veracity of the information in order to either put minds at rest or set up an enquiry if investigations prove the information to be true.

Until and unless the CF info becomes “real” it might as well not exist but the parliamentary route might be the way to make it real and usable.

  13. Stein…,

    Defensive ?

Is that another way of deflecting the blame

Have I been in control of the club while the minority shareholders were/are cheated out of improved stake holding and premiums/dividends ?

Have I been silent while the governing body cheat my club ?

Is it me who is responsible to protect all the clubs shareholders interests ?

Am I picking up a major remuneration package to ensure our interests are protected ?

Then again, going by all our previous discourse it’s all my fault, I should never think of asking such questions, after all who in the world could possibly suspect a Plc board of taking advantage of loyal supporters eh ?

You need to stop and think about the discussion, this should be beyond personalities.

This is our club we are talking about, should we be happy to accept over £100M lost revenue on the off chance we might make it up if we play along with the corruption of the game we love ?

Fundamentally that is exactly what this board are telling us, bullcrap about trying to get out of Scotland and keeping the SFA on board so they won’t object is just the biggest pile of Richard the third I’ve ever had to listen too, and would quite happily accept a story issued by the same liars who are not properly representing the Celtic minority shareholders, so there.

Craig Whyte tugs and pulls away a shiny green curtain drape that covers a small booth, revealing, unmasking and exposing a white-haired, ordinary man who is furiously and frantically pulling levers, dials, switches and levers on an elaborate machine to control all the Wizard’s special technological effects in the projected image. The fraudulent man suddenly looks over his shoulder and sees Dorothy and the others. After being found out for his fraudulent manipulations, he tries to distract them but then sheepishly identifies himself:

The Wizard (covering up with the curtain): The Great Oz has spoken. Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain….the…Great…er…Oz has spoken. Dorothy (pulling aside the curtain and reprimanding): Who are you?The Wizard: (stuttering) I, I, I am the Great and Powerful Wizard of Oz. Dorothy: You are! I don’t believe you. The Wizard: I’m afraid it’s true. There’s no other Wizard except me. Scarecrow: You humbug. Tin Man: Yeah. The Wizard: Yes. That’s exactly so. I’m a humbug. Dorothy: (scolding) Oh, you’re a very bad man! The Wizard (sadly): Oh, no, my dear, I…I’m a very good man -I’m just a very bad Wizard. Scarecrow (angrily): What about the heart that you promised Tin Man, and the courage that you promised Cowardly Lion… Lion: And Scarecrow’s brain?

Why are some decrying Celtic for not acting ?

Personally i am angry with UEFA. This is their job to sort out this sorry mess. By not doing so, speaks volumes.

Because Celtic have idly sat back for 60 years and done nowt about it.

Because UEFA have yet to receive a complaint from anyone in Scotland

How poorly are we represented at the top table and please dont mention Brian Quinn and FFP

  20. Myboysnowatim,

They are being decried because they are legally bound to protect our interests without fear or favour, they are paid mighty sums to carry out these responsibilities and they are failing us.

Stop and think about their fundamental responsibilities.

They done even need to speak to the SFA, they don’t need to mention the Tinkerbell FC, all they need to do is ask UEFA TO INVESTIGATE GOVERNANCE IRREGULARITIES
