It’s not often I disagree with Big Sutty, but he was wrong tonsay the Craig Gordon was lucky not to be sent off.
IF there was any touch on the Thistle player it was very slight, and NOT enough for him to fall down. He dived to try and win a penalty when he KNEW that he had lost the ball !
The ref was right to book him.

Brendan interview , ” team effort, 1st half we played in fits and starts. We changed a couple of positions in 2nd half. Their goal was clearly offside. Proud if the players, great focus and mentality. The ref got the decision to book the Jags player absolutely right in incident with Craig. Forrest only has a slight injury.”

WITS , agree re Sutton sticking up for us. He does have a tendency in commentary to repeat ad nauseum on such instances. when he gets a bee in his bonnet about an incident it then becomes the only issue that gets discussed. For us the big concern is that Craig Gordon (who has improved immensely) still makes poor decisions in coming to the edge of the box. That’s 3 times now , he’s not learning.
Just as well we are scoring freely at the other end :)
Craig Gordon DEFINITELY fouled the PT player.
I still don’t see the contact from Gordon despite numerous replays and angles. What I can see is the Thistle player launching himself in the air as he anticipates contact from our ‘keeper.
Most commentators will annoy you when they say something you do’t agree with.
I only see Sutton on line but he seems fair.
He is one who sticks up for Celtic so we should accept when he does not it is how he viewed the incident and unlike the rest of them it is not anti Celtic bias.
I watch games on Celtic tv and the commentary can be mind numbing at times.
Neither guys tonight seemed to be aware that the Thistle goal was offside and did not understand why the second was given offside.

Agree about Sutton with a bee in his bonnet about certain incidents…..but we probably only notice when its an incident like tonight ( Gordon) and not when he bangs on about how poor sevco are or how bad the refs are

The huns still canny handle Sutton, he calls things like he sees them, by my reckoning he has called us out more than the huns this season, yet he is totally bias, the mind boggles so it does.

Before the game Sutty was reminded that he said last week ” if Sevco don’t beat Dons then Warbo will be under pressure”.
Stubbsy had just said moments earlier ” if your manager of Sevco, you have to win EVERY game”.
Craigan said NOTHING when hear what Stubbs said, BUT tried to jump down Suttys throat whose comment was much the same as what Stubbs had said moments earlier !

While the other incidents of Craig coming out and not getting the ball were poor decisions tonights was not.
The guy got behind our defender and would have had a free run on goal if Craig had not come out.
In replays i saw there did not seem to be any contact.
Steady enough performance and I prefer LG to DM.

Well done bhoys. Not the most fluid of performances but a job well done. Agree with the ‘Hun skelper’ – Gordon lucky not to be sent off. I think his boot catches the Thistle player.

Totally agree….. Leigh Griffiths for me all day long (would also live Moussa to stay for years) but our Leigh is still getting better, he is my ideal Celtic striker ……. And a far better footballer than just a goal scorer
IF there was a SLIGHT touch on the player by Gordon IF ! it was NOT enough to bring him down.
If Thistke players first touch had been better, he would NOT have went fekkin down, he would probably have scored !

Craig Gordon did not make contact with the PT player, you can clearly see him drawing his hand away after being too slow to the ball.
Chris Sutton is a verbal bully… but he is also very entertaining
And in Craigan and Darrell he has two very worthy targets who have had too much their own way at times. I loved how quick he was when Craigan tried t include Stubsy into his group as old fashioned non ball-playing centre backs. Stubbsy was 3 levels above Craigan as a player.
When he does not get a bee in his bonnet, he can be quite insightful in giving a look into the mindset of a pro footballer.
It was not a sparkling display tonight but we still scored 4 on a poor-ish night.

Don’t know if anyone.is like me when our players start passing the ball ,then back were it all started,it does my head ,also can lead to the players make mistakes,and that happened a few times at Firhill,as for Craig Gordon on a few occasions,he has been very lucky to stay on the pitch,so what I would like Brenden Rogers to do is,go and get a Good Defence’s Coach ,and another Goal keeper,for next season.and I stick by what I have been saying about Paddy Robert’s,not good enough,
