  1. In the midst of all the panty wetting and supporter bashing can I just say :

    What a terrific player Olivier N’Cham looks….

    Reasons to be positive…

  2. glendalystonsils on

Not on our A game ,not even on our B game but still 3 points in the bag. Maybe Wednesday on our minds.

    Last Tuesday’s 11 would have won 4-0-))

  3. Fan A Tic

    I felt free.

    I disagreed.

I’d prefer Ajer at Centre Half than Bitton and I like the big man.

  4. Delighted with the win.Delighted with Bitons performance at CH.A striker gets a header at goal.Biton is rubbish.Dear God,is that not football?.A wee bit of a mix up with the keeper,he is going to clear it when, shock,a Thistle player attempts to block. That was it.apart from that he and Jozo were superb.

Not too much being said about Scotty. Not really kicked a ball yet,but thats OK,he is a favorite.

Some need a lie down till their angst calms.

    Unbelievable

  5. FAN-A-TIC

I agree re Ajer but it’s easy from the seat in the stand or the armchair.

His inexperience would concern me, not his ability, and I’m afraid we just need to trust BR on this as he’s earned it.

  6. Delaneys Dunky on

I thought Nir played well tonight as stand in centre half. Good professional three points achieved. We have much bigger fish to fry on Wednesday. Onwards and upwards bhoys!

  7. Friday night quizzes and music were more fun than Celtic playing.

I predict a cqn meltdown this weekend.

  8. TGM

The problem with gambling is that you get a buzz if you win or lose, albeit a different buzz, but a buzz all the same, by far the worst addiction known to man IMO.

I seriously thot about giving it up this season, but the addict in me said one more and see how it goes, always start with a pot, if it goes that’s it, so far it’s still in credit, had a decent week last week, but I reckon this will be the last season, it’s getting harder to pick winners and the odds are getting worse, they sort of force you to gamble, winkers :-)

  9. the glorious balance sheet on

Clearly having Bitton at centre half in the CL qualifier isn’t ideal but to be fair he did play well at Rosenborg in the previous round. And if Brendan trusts Bitton over ajer then I think you have to say he has called most things right up until now so fair play.

People also need to remember that Astana aren’t exactly a swashbuckling attack minded team. In Astana last year our centre halves were ambrose and O’Connell and in Glasgow it was lustig and O’Connell with janko on the right covering lustig’s usual beat. If we managed then I’m sure we can do so now with what we have even allowing for the injuries.

Remember also that Astana are not without their own issues with their forwards kabanaga and twumasi agitating for a move. That can’t be a happy ship.

This mob are coming here to a 60000 packed arena for a game starting at 0045 and finishing around 0230 as far as their body clocks are concerned. Let’s get wired right into them and hit them with everything we have. Inquests about the transfer activity, plc board etc can wait until later.

  10. BIG WAVY on 11TH AUGUST 2017 10:28 PM

In the midst of all the panty wetting and supporter bashing can I just say :

    What a terrific player Olivier N’Cham looks….

    Reasons to be positive…

Exactly, but this place would rather focus on anything but the positives.Always the same culprits.Panty wetters,a great description.

  11. BIG WAVY

I was watching him tonight without the ball, his movement and reading of the game looks superb, he will be a very good player for us and you can see why Brendan wanted him in, like Scott Sinclair he used to playing at that level of tactical awareness which Brendan requires.

    HH

  12. everyone welcomes the 3 pts. tonight but it was the team/individual player performances that is the issue, yes its early and we are still getting up to speed and we will improve when we get our first choice players back.

What we have identified is that a few players are not as adaptable as first thought and able to play in key positions

  13. TURKEYBHOY

It was not a header at goal that caused concern.

It was a player in possession in his own box being careless and was fortunate not to concede a penalty.

Central defensive is an unforgiving area and mistakes can lead to dropped points or defeats.

This guy was error prone in midfield so playing him in a vital area is a huge risk.

Happy we got the result but a better opponent would have punished us.

  14. Yes Ntcham looks very good, when he gets up to full speed expect big things. I thought Armstrong was equally as good on Tuesday night.

  15. The Green Man says SACK THE Board on

The Bhoys will come out all guns blazing on Wed.

    Skill,Power,Pace, Grit

We have a real good squad, dont forget that.

    Mon the Hoops:)

  16. THE GLORIOUS BALANCE SHEET

Bitton was good against Rosenberg but also remember their main attacker could not hit a coo’s ass with a banjo.

They were particularly inept in the attacking zone.

  17. Really like the look of Ntcham though on the really few occasions we’ve watched him I think Kouassi might be even better.

  18. Big sutton.

    Legend and hunskelper par excellence.

Oh, and did celtic win the nicht!!!!.

    Played 3 won 3 scored 10 conceded 1.

    Worrying times a tell ye.

  19. Ntcham has presence and looks very tactically aware.

Holds position well and can see a pass.

We need better forward movement ahead of him than we saw tonight to get the full benefit of his ability

  20. Guttenberg

That fella will be amazing. I can see us settle on a midfield trio of Brown, Eboue and Ntcham. Sinclair and Roberts on the wing and either Griff of Moussa up front….not bad eh ?

  21. Delaneys Dunky on

I thought KT and Olivier were excellent tonight. Combined age 40. The future is bright. Green and White!

  22. theBHOYfromU.N.C.L.E on

Any update on Kouassi ?………..really impressed by his showings so far………….hopefully he is not the unlucky type.

  23. Expanding on a previous post.

Much as I love BR I do think he has a blind spot with Scott Sinclair.

I’d give him a break after the CL matches.

  24. the glorious balance sheet on

    Fan-a-tic

It’s a fair point to say Rosenborg were inept and toothless up front. But I think Astana from my memory of last year are cut from the same cloth.

They were also incredibly indisciplined last year and from what Zybszek posted of their tie against Legia Warsaw, they still are.

Let’s play the opponent, not the occasion.

  25. THEBHOYFROMU.N.C.L.E on 11TH AUGUST 2017 10:49 PM

Any update on Kouassi ?………..really impressed by his showings so far………….hopefully he is not the unlucky type.

    ——————————

John Kennedy said it wasn’t as bad as first feared……weeks rather than months is my gut feeling on that.

  26. Guttenberg

Scott Sinclair is the most naturally gifted player in Scotland. We are lucky to have him.

We should all have a blind spot for players like that.

  27. Delaneys Dunky on

    Gutenberg

Scott Sinclair is the best player at our club.

He is human though. He is not a machine you programme. I remember Henke having off periods of form.

  28. Big Wavy

SS the most naturally gifted player in scotland, Dearie Me, you obviously haven’t been casting your eyes over govan way, they have the best squad of players scotland has ever assembled, compared to them the likes of SS is a haddy, I truly despair at times so I do !!!

  29. theBHOYfromU.N.C.L.E on

BIG WAVY on 11TH AUGUST 2017 10:53 PM

That is good to hear…………..I really feel for players when they keep getting setbacks to frustrate and curtail their career.

    theBHOY…….

  30. Big Wavy

To play Ntcham and Kouassi together would mean that Scott Brown would miss out as we would need a Rogic, Callum or Paddy(???) to make it work.
