Place your bets on Supreme Court

419

I don’t think any of us regarded the possibility of playing a Champions League qualifier in San Marino next month as likely, but after La Fiorita left Belfast with only a single goal deficit, the prospect of playing the next round in an historically dubious territorial entity remains real.

Linfield were right to make provisions for the possibility of facing Celtic in the next round, but smiling executives and comments of making £1m on the tie is asking for it. The lesson for all of us is take care of the next game.

Football in June and July is a random lottery. We’ve learned this lesson often enough, but it’s worth reminding everyone again.

Yesterday we learned that the Supreme Court will publish its verdict on Rangers’ Big Tax Case next week. This one has had so many twists along the way it’s impossible to call. Whatever the outcome, there will be no surprise.

We may discover that Rangers tax affairs were not legal, not open to other clubs, and therefore bestowed an unfair sporting advantage. Or it may be that Income Tax was optional all those years. Place your bets.

I access newsnow via Chrome on my phone, (confirmed most recent version), no articles from either VideoCelts or The Celtic Blog have been listed for the past few days, and I’ve read at least ten articles directly on the latter. I know both blogs are hosted on the same site, could be that there is some issue between the hosting site and the newsnow platform, but neither appears to be available via newsnow at the moment.

Cheers mate, definitely a strange one – I’ve literally updated the browser in the past 20 mins and still nothing, have java script blocked on both sites as the ads are ridiculous, have tried allowing that, clearing cache, cookies, the lot, and still no articles from either site?

    Have you heard bad news?

    ================

Nope just trying to cut through 5 years of dishonesty to get to the crux of the matter.

    Without integrity football is nothing.

  6. Auldheid,

Where does RES12 currently stand? The recent admissions in the CW trial contradict everything we have heard, up to that point, re the crystallisation of the outstanding tax bill….so surely, irregardless of the SMSM narrative, Celtic along with other SPFL clubs should act, no?

Or is it a case of….we will be in a stronger position if/when the BTC case runs it’s course….which really is tangential to that argument.

Congrats to Cork City and Shamrock Rovers ( the Dublin hoops) who both won away from home in Europa League qualifiers.

Unfortunately Derry City got beaten 6 1

  8. WITS,

c’mon….a treble would be greedy….comfort yourself….that in the infinite multiverse that you occupy…..all three won, both Linfield and Sevco were pretty much eliminated & that we are all playing for the hoops ;-))

Not sure that in any of them….the SFA wouldn’t be establishment serving bassas tho ;-))

Welcome to the world famous Glasgow Celtic – Kundai Benyu

Now just watched BBC Scotland news, who showed a Europa Cup game goal, amazing to watch a steward dance and celebrate with fans at that goal

I thought stewards were to keep the crowd in control ?

Valamar Hotel, just on outskirts of Dubrovnik. I was there about 3 years ago, fantastic holiday. Bus from just outside the hotel into Dubrovnik, got to be done – the city walls are amazing. I will post more precise details tomorrow, when I access my laptop ( on mobile at the moment).

  11. What is the Stars on

I decided to watch the Rangers Progress game tonight.

Krancjar looked good for the first half but then was dead on his feet, giving the ball away and misplacing passes. He was replaced by Jordan Rossiter who was anonymous.

Dalcio looked like a poor version of Barry Mckay, without the crossing ability.

Candelias or wot ever he is called looks like a Waghorn with a bit more pace and energy but without the skill.

Bates is woeful, Jack is like a poor man’s Barry Ferguson, the Portuguese centre half looked half decent against the 4th best team in Luxembourg

Morelos replaced the Wagster and was anonymous.

Kenny Miller was their best player.

    Pedro is bonkers

Albion Rovers would beat these Luxembourgers. ..is that even a word

    ====%==

There is linkage between Res12 and the BTC and our advice to Celtic when we left them in December with a very persuasive case that the process of granting and keeping the UEFA licence in 2011 was dodgy, since strenghened by what came out at CW trial, was to await outcome of both court cases.

That there is dodginess is irrefutable but SC Decision will magnify the scale beyond ignoring if BDO appeal rejected, although indications are the SPFL will attempt to do so.

So it will be interesting to see what comes out next Wed when all reasons for silence will have gone.

The CQN podcast with MaCrae might sign post movement on part of the SFA but I reckon it will more damage limitation for them.

Lurkintim, Im not a gambling man and my fingers are all intact at the moment. That may change when we go into the next round of the C.L. ……… once we humiliate the NI DOBs.

  16. Auldheid,

Ffs, so against any overwhelming evidence….both the SPFL & SFA will resist/ignore the reality….in favour of their own….with the SMSM as their mouthpiece….what a beautiful little bigotest country we live in…..second only to NI….which isn’t even worthy of principality status ;-))

You can just about see Theresa May’s shoulder behind Liam Fox’s chair on QT. Her arm is right up his arse and her fingers are working his lips.

He is a shameful example of a scotsman.

I wonder if Macjay has a picture of Liam on his mantelpiece?

  18. A Ceiler Gonof Rust on

Interesting signing in Kundai Benyu. Read some of the Ipswich fans forums to see what they had to say about him leaving and the only comment I could find on the bhoy was “Comes across as a bit of a cock”……………………,ha ha.

Well now he’s a cock in the North.

Canada day celebrations here this weekend, 150 years of no bigotry or EBTs; not as much fuss as the 50 years celebration we had in Lisboa or the 100 years at Fatima.

Talking to many who have indulged in EBTs within the IT sector ( which has been endemic since the 2000’s ) they have been advised to expect an HMRC victory.
