Place your bets on Supreme Court

419

I don’t think any of us regarded the possibility of playing a Champions League qualifier in San Marino next month as likely, but after La Fiorita left Belfast with only a single goal deficit, the prospect of playing the next round in an historically dubious territorial entity remains real.

Linfield were right to make provisions for the possibility of facing Celtic in the next round, but smiling executives and comments of making £1m on the tie is asking for it. The lesson for all of us is take care of the next game.

Football in June and July is a random lottery. We’ve learned this lesson often enough, but it’s worth reminding everyone again.

Yesterday we learned that the Supreme Court will publish its verdict on Rangers’ Big Tax Case next week. This one has had so many twists along the way it’s impossible to call. Whatever the outcome, there will be no surprise.

We may discover that Rangers tax affairs were not legal, not open to other clubs, and therefore bestowed an unfair sporting advantage. Or it may be that Income Tax was optional all those years. Place your bets.

Lubo would have fitted well into the Lisbon Lions squad! To me, that’s the yardstick.

If I am being honest ,I see no positives for the SPFL regards Laffatme coming back to the scottish game .

A cheating sly git ,who is a danger to fellow pros .

I thought we had seen an end to that ,when Garner packed his bags

I mailed PAUL67 about the situation. Apologies made and air cleared, and I said I wouldn’t discuss it on here.

I’m not trying to be evasive, but I wouldn’t lie to PAUL67 any more than I would lie on here.

I see Port Vale are now Swindon’s feeder club with Ben Purkiss moving to you – one of our better players last season.

  9. After tragicaly earnest attempts over the past year to convince everyone they really care about rugby, the BBC Scotland Huns have finally relented to instinctive goat-pumping urges and rediscovered football via the magic of Pedro’s Punanis.

Included it in the headlines, no less, as they promise to go live to Taco Hell.

  10. Love the convolutions of Scottish media trying to ignore that Rangers died, even though they plastered on their front pages!

Having a twitter exchange with STV’s Grant Russel who is trumpeting …

One for Rangers old/new club debaters. UEFA have Danny Wilson as eligible for Europa Lge as he was trained “by his current club” 2006-2010.

    My replies were that …

o UEFA reg 43.01: Each club is responsible for submitting an A list of players (List A) and a B list of players (List B), duly signed, to its association for verification, validation, signature and forwarding to UEFA

o TRFC supplied player list to SFA who verified and supplied to UEFA who handle several hundred player lists only reviewed in event of appeal

o UEFA accept association (SFA) submissions as per reg 43.01 as they have 200+ clubs x 25 players to record. Appeal will cause UEFA scrutiny

o Someone has to raise question of eligibility otherwise UEFA accept association submission as fact, Maybe someone should inform Progres ?

Anybody have Progres contact details ???

Payday today, many will look at their payslips and see the appropriate deductions for tax and NI. Yesterday in the House of Commons an amendment to the Queens speech which would have seen an end to the restrictions on public sector pay was voted down to the sound of loud cheers from the Tory benches. Cheers for keeping the pay of working class families down, is what this country has come to. With all this talk of EBT’s and such like it brings home the reality of tax evasion. It is nothing short of disgraceful what the likes of Murray attempted to get away with. I understand the EBT’s will have to be paid back by 2019, regardless of the result next week due to an amendment to tax laws introduced by George Osbourne. However even if you put aside the implications on the football side of things, the last thing i want to see is the Huns singing and dancing if BDO’s appeal is upheld like it’s some kind of victory. There are no winners here but lets hope justice is done next Wednesday and that these people are put to shame for what they did.

I wonder how long it took Russell to come up with that one, when things that are clear and in front of their eyes are ignored as it doesn’t suit the continuation lie.

Perhaps someone like Ernie Lynch could correct me.

If I recall correctly, following the example of John Major, Tony Blair was not above using low wages as a reason to invest in Britain.

The argument is that by keeping pay low you can have more people in work, low wages/more employment or higher wages/higher unemployment, i would like to see those stats…

7 years worth of 1% pay increases must be quite a significant real terms cut.

Regardless, tax evasion is a different thing altogether.
