I like data, and analytics, but one wee irk of mines is the sudden fashion for XG as a measurement –
ie – XPECTED GOALS
team y has this amount of shots and based on previous performance we can expect this amount of goals.
lumping all 900 teams across 54 leagues into a one table comparison just is not comparing aiplles with aipless. standards are different, style of play, best strikers etc etc etc.
one good thing though the table allows you to split out the leagues,
and to sort by the various categories, when i do that sort, celtic are in the top 25 for goals scored.
ans scotlands top goalscorers for 11 of the last 12 seasons.
sure we miss a lot, so do spurs and city and pool.

in absolute terms i dont see the point of using decimal places, you cannot get 0.3 of a goal awarded.
over a season it adds up, but the other factor not factered in, the huns get most penalties, and we miss half of ours, that is more critical imho.
