Plucky green and gold tribute act

820

Last night when Neil Lennon told BBC Radio Scotland that Norwich’s second offer for Gary Hooper was “not as high as £6m” and that despite reports, the club had not tabled a fresh contract offer to the player, you would be forgiven for thinking the entire transfer saga was a product of fantasy.

Neil also confirmed Gary’s contract offer from Celtic is due to expire on 1 February, when I understand the player’s current representation deal also expires.

None of this counts where it really matters.  Gary continues to perform like a player on top of this game.  St Mirren next, then he can start the countdown to Juventus.  Put the Italians in their place and he will attract attention from more than a plucky green and gold tribute act.

A corner of Glasgow stood still today to bid farewell to Sean Fallon.  Sean’s 19 grandchildren delivered touching bidding prayers while son Sean recounted many of the times and habits which shaped his father’s life.  It was a fitting tribute to such a great life, marked by sincere and loving words from Sir Alex Ferguson.

For some reason the early Connolly stuff sticks in my mind while I forget the more important things in life

  2. BOOM!!

    PETERHEAD manager Jim McInally today

blasted Rangers as flops, despite the

Glasgow giants running away with the

    Third Division title.

The Blue Toon boss was highly

    unimpressed with how the Gers

performed during their 1-0 win at

    Balmoor.

McInally insisted that Rangers should be

doing a lot more against the sides of

Scotland’s bottom tier due to the amount

    of money at their disposal.

He said: “Rangers have been praised for

being professional for beating us 1-0, but

they should be doing a lot more with

    their multi-million pound budget.

“They should be wiping the floor with

every team in the Third Division.

“A lot of their players are on several

    thousand pounds a week.

“They certainly didn’t look any fitter than

    us for a full-time team.

“They shouldn’t be getting any praise –

the game really should have been a no-

    contest.”

We pride ourselves on free speech in this country the right to say what we truly think now it will never win us many friends saying what we think and believe. The fact of the matter we are all judged on what we say or in the case of CQN what we write now in my life I have said things that I thought were really clever or funny usually alcohol fuelled and these things have upset people which of course was not my intention but never the less that was the outcome.Even though I know free speech can hurt and upset people. I think it is one of our great strengths however, it has to go hand and hand with forgiveness as Jesus said forgive them Father they know not what they are doing, we can add or what they are saying. So a poster writes things that are abhorent to us should he be banned from posting or ridiculed for his views? well if we truly believe in free speech we should surely support his or her right to both hold these views and to post them.We should challenge them by reasonable discussion and give our opposing views but to ban the poster is to deny free speech and take us down the road of only saying or writing what we believe others want to hear.H.H.

  4. Just back from lovely week in Lanzarote, watched last 2 games in the Hal’penny Inn. Was telling Sean about CQN he said he was going to join, so if you see a guy called Hal’penny Sean adding his tuppence worth ye will know who he is. Had my first face to face with a fellow CQN’er when I had a Magners with Mick323 a fine Glaswegian with an extremely pretty wife. Trying to catch up with the News just seen that Peterhead had a guy sent off against Sevco, now that was not news to me as I kinda knew it was going to happen before I went on Holidays. The number of games Sevco will play this year against 10 man teams could be the one genuine World Record that they will achieve. that should make 500 million souls happy.

  5. Some great tweets from the Wee Oscar camp. Can’t work out how to copy and paste using this iPad but well worth a look.

Will soon be looking for sponsors for our 127.5 miles cycle ride Leeds-Liverpool-Belfast for Wee Oscar. Save a fiver for when I find out how to post it here!

  9. From Garngad to Croy I am Neil Lennon. on

Hazard is going to jail . The Chelsea fans applaud as Hazard kicks the ball boy . Curse them all to Hell !

  10. Neil canamalar Lennon hunskelper extrordinaire on

Watched the ballboy getting a kicked, he was interfering with the game, lying on the ball to waste time, should be kicked out the club.

Adrenalin pumped player trying to get on with the game having to deal with a supporter getting involved to frustrate further.

  11. Neil canamalar Lennon hunskelper extrordinaire on

The ballboy was a young man, stop trying to make out he was a child, probably old enough to pick up a gun and go fight in the army.

  12. Thought Ki has been excellent throughout. Classy footballer who would still add something to our team.
