Plucky green and gold tribute act

820

Last night when Neil Lennon told BBC Radio Scotland that Norwich’s second offer for Gary Hooper was “not as high as £6m” and that despite reports, the club had not tabled a fresh contract offer to the player, you would be forgiven for thinking the entire transfer saga was a product of fantasy.

Neil also confirmed Gary’s contract offer from Celtic is due to expire on 1 February, when I understand the player’s current representation deal also expires.

None of this counts where it really matters.  Gary continues to perform like a player on top of this game.  St Mirren next, then he can start the countdown to Juventus.  Put the Italians in their place and he will attract attention from more than a plucky green and gold tribute act.

A corner of Glasgow stood still today to bid farewell to Sean Fallon.  Sean’s 19 grandchildren delivered touching bidding prayers while son Sean recounted many of the times and habits which shaped his father’s life.  It was a fitting tribute to such a great life, marked by sincere and loving words from Sir Alex Ferguson.

Sloleybhoy, how was it nonsense, hazard pushed him over and also kicked him

that’s how I saw it, the ball boy was pushed and landed on the ball, he might not have been in a hurry to get up but Hazard should be in big trouble for that

  4. Doc he’s a hellova lot younger than me Doc but going by his fissog on the telly you’re spot on, some folk are just unlucky with the old ageing genes, poor wee soul.

Kikinthenakas, thank you for your warm welcome.

Emeraldbee thank you too. Your spot on about ignoring the individual but I gave up the fags today and just saw red i’m afraid. I’ll know better in future, 5 patches before I log on late afternoon. I’m not from Hamilton but my Dad was born there so have a wee affinity with the town and my middle name is Agnes so that’s about as interesting as it gets.

Hello Goldstar, thank you for your welcome. I haven’t a scoobie about Three Men From Carntyne but I had a few school friends who lived there. Sat on a number 10 bus at the terminus there listening to The Who in Parkhead with the conductor and the driver. Learned invaluable lesson, never share an unorthodox cigarette with the man driving your bus, scary

Guys, what actually happened with Hazard and the ballboy?! Can’t wait to see the highlights on SSN or on Beeb1 later.

  6. The ball boy was at it. Hazard kicked the ball from under him. If that is assault then my 10 year old should be calling for my arrest on a daily basis!

  7. Tallybhoy,

    it’s a two league set up;

    SPL1 – 32 teams

    SPL2 – 10 teams

Of course to maintain sporting integrity there still needs to be promotion & relegation. So, team 32 will go down to SPL2 & team 33 (who will definately be Sevco) will be promoted to SPL1.

It’s apparently the only solution that gets the endorsement of BBC Scotland, STV, Radio Clyde, Radio Scotland, Charles, Sally, James Traynor and Chick Young.

    So everyone is happy!

    gordy64,

Agree on that, but the ballboy was not the holy innocent being made out on here.

As I said an adrenalin pumped sportsman can be unpredictable, we see how they treat each other when frustrated.

The guy should know better but he’s only human, we’re all sinners

I really don’t understand the way Celtic are huffing And puffing regards the Hooper transfer saga, come February His value as a Celtic player will drop as it gets into his last year.Celtic should either sell him on now and limit any loss that would incur if his contractgoes into it’s final year, Or, ‘which would be my preference’, offer him enough for him to sign a new 3 or 4 enhanced deal with a provisio that if a sufficient offer comes in he will be allowed to negotiate a tranfer with any club interested.

If Gary is worth in the region of £8 million now, surely with a new four year deal his price would soar,it’s a win, win situation for Celtic, Celtic would gain a few millions with the enhanced contract,we continue to get Gary playing for us this season, and Gary gets to negotiate with some club that would be willing to pay what fee they would agree too.

Celtic should learn not to let a player get into a situation where he, the player dominates the negotiating terms, will they never learn.

  12. Canamalar,I appreciate he is pumped up but he does push him first before kicking out,if we substitute elbows for hazard and the hoops for Swansea I am sure people would be going off their nut

  13. Arsenal 5 West Ham 1-always good to see Allardyce’s team getting a good pumping.Arrogant rat of a man.

Seems Mr Williams was closer to the incident..

Celtic aren’t huffin’ and puffin’ ….. The media are ….anything to unsettle the wonderful Celtic Football Club….onwards and upwards, bhoys…..

Wonder if greengo managed to pull the wool any further over the tribute act supporters at theirvwee meeting tonight on the naming of bigotdome….’Desperadoes Direct’ would be a good name for it, if BDO manage to ‘turn a blind eye’ on the Creditors’ legal rights….

  18. We’re going a wee bit over the top on the Hazard incident but so will the tabloids tomorrow.

Let me state unequivocally that Hazard should not have behaved as he did and kick a ball the ballboy was lying on top of (deliberately IMO). He obviously kicked the boy along with the ball but I seriously doubt that the lad was hurt to anywhere near the extent he was claiming.

The ballboy was at it and Hazard was suckered into an OTT reaction. There will be a PR offensive whereby the sleekit ballboy will be rewarded with gifts from Chelsea. Hazard will get an OTT ban and we’ll all have forgotten about it in 10 days.

This is not a Child protection issue.

Seen it again, the ballboy takes the dive on top of the ball, Hoddle explains it perfectly.
