Rangers liquidation unlikely within days

“However, no one should be in any doubt that in the absence of sufficient cost-cutting measures or receipt of substantial unplanned income, the Club will not be able to fulfil its fixtures throughout the remainder of the season.”

Statement from Rangers administrators, Duff and Phelps.

Lots of speculation that this is the end.  I don’t think so.  Duff and Phelps have made practically no cuts for 23 days, it would be professional negligence for them to fail under these circumstances.  They must have enough cash available to pay rates, electricity, police, around 20 youth players and various small invoices between now and the end of the season.

Unless an event happens that has yet to manifest, they will almost certainly survive until the tax tribunal verdict.  It will not be pretty, and unless you are older than 35, it will not look like any Rangers you have known, but they will linger for a few weeks yet.

  1. Last saturday night i attended a sportsmans dinner . The guest speakers were macca , and the goalie . The reason i went was because my cousin organised the night and to be perfectly fair he attends our celtic functions . Anyway you should have heard this tube. It went from his extra marital affairs , to his long walks down the shankill visiting all the pubs as he didnt need to buy a drink . to listening to the flute bands , then he told us of the gaffer (walter nae name ) phoning him to keep his phone on that he was going to get a call . . It was from sir awex offering him a 6 month contract to help them out . He said he got on fine with all the boys except keano , who refused to shake his hand . he then went on about how he was supposed to be a hard man , said he wouldn,t have lasted long with bomber brown . Then bobby tait got his usual mention. said he remembered one game and goram asked him how long to go as they were drawing . tait told him until we get the winner goalie . He continued by singing the praises of sally . durranty . goughy . gazza-y laudrup-y neil mccanny . hately geezo play school in full flow . What in the name of god infects these guys when they come up here . All those english twats that came up here even after years away from the place pledge their undying love for that club but more importantly their HATRED FOR CELTIC F.C . Do you know something that club was made for them . . BTW macca was good.

How long have we yearned for this lovely day ?

God Bless all that legion of great Celtic men who prayed for this special time.

They can now REST IN PEACE.

    Walter Smithi still in denial.

If anybody contributed to Rangers problems it was Walter Smith. They had £6M of debt in 2006 and by 2009 it had gone up to £31M mainly from transfers in and wages offered.

He was not a manager who could develop players (Adams for example) but one who used a template of experienced but expensive ones to win games at any cost.

Now that cost is being revealed and he does not seem to realise his part in bringing it about.

I saw his reaction to the idea of titles being removed which suggests he is still in denial of the principles at play. These principles/values are about to turn his world and “achievments” upside down.

I am fairly confident the match on 28th March will be postponed on grounds of public order. It will be played after the title is won and Celtic can field an U 19 team.

  8. I have something to say………………………………………..

    Its better to burn out……………………………….

Or do reArangers just fade away….
