Rangers liquidation unlikely within days

394

“However, no one should be in any doubt that in the absence of sufficient cost-cutting measures or receipt of substantial unplanned income, the Club will not be able to fulfil its fixtures throughout the remainder of the season.”

Statement from Rangers administrators, Duff and Phelps.

Lots of speculation that this is the end.  I don’t think so.  Duff and Phelps have made practically no cuts for 23 days, it would be professional negligence for them to fail under these circumstances.  They must have enough cash available to pay rates, electricity, police, around 20 youth players and various small invoices between now and the end of the season.

Unless an event happens that has yet to manifest, they will almost certainly survive until the tax tribunal verdict.  It will not be pretty, and unless you are older than 35, it will not look like any Rangers you have known, but they will linger for a few weeks yet.

Former CelticTV presenter and now UEFA media officer Alex O’Henley has just tweeted:

Dave King’s assertion that #RangersFC titles won’t be stripped might turn out to be a tad presumptuous. Developing story.

What does he know that we don’t? Interesting.

The end is in sight. There will soon be another footnote in Scottish footballing history right next to the one explaining who Third Lanark were.

I can’t wait for the gates to be closed and the lights to go out one and for all.

Hugh Keevins talking about Rangers reputation in tatters … then says he is sitting next to a Rangers legend (Andy Goram).

A man who cheated on, and beat his wife. A step away from being an alcoholic. A chronic gambler. A man who has been photographed with the scum of the Earth, the detritus of humankind, a man who is, himself, a bigot and a disgrace.

I rest my case. The best summation of WHY Rangers reputation is in tatters that I could ever have imagined. Perfectly illustrated by Hugh.

Oh wait … that’s not what he meant?

I am now concerned that our community as a whole is going to be attacked in reaction to what is, essentially, the church of rangers dying.

St Mary’s in Larkhall was razed to the ground the other night. I don’t know the cause but I get concerned that we are going to be targetted by thugs unable to properly vent their emotions.

Please be safe and vigilant. DO NOT react to violence and report every single attack.

The administrators are bluffing, got to be, trying to force the players to accept the wage cuts and / or flush out a buyer,

I need to see this with my own eyes to believe it, so far it’s all just so much hot air, nothing wrong with us having a party as we’re going to win the league anyway, but buying new dancing shoes to dance on their grave, no chance, long way to go,

Right at the start of all this quite a few posters were saying Scotland is Hun land, Hun land is Scotland, that could still have a major part to play in this.

Paul, have to disagree – joyfully, I may add – about duff & Phelps prcticing professional negligence if they fail to implement job cuts.

It would be professional negligence, not to mention pointless waste of assets (their enormous fee time) if they muddled around making cuts while fully expecting liquidation at the end of it.

Shifting deckchairs on the Titanic, more or less.

That’s why they’ve called for any pospective buyer – i.e Arkham Asylum-esque cackling supervillain lunatic with £100 million to pour into the bottomless Hun pit – to step up within days.

Failing the appearance of Santa’s evil twin Duff & Phelps will be announcing the implementation of liquidation procedures anytime next week.

About time them admin cats Fudd and Whelks started swinging that axe on them high paid souperstars, i’d wager that Alan McGeregors weekly salary would pay for the youth teams wages collectively.
