Rangers? That wasn’t even a Basket of Assets

891

They can call themselves whatever insolvency practitioners allow them to be called, but even the court assertion, that Charles Green bought a Basket of Assets, not a football club, seems overly optimistic. That lot look more like a Basket of Liabilities than assets.

I told you Joey Barton was a good Celtic man, there to take their money, and self-respect. Their big former Arsenal centre half is four years younger than our big former Arsenal centre half, but good grief! You could forgive him for being short of pace, but acting like an immature simpleton is unforgivable.

Moussa Dembele’s Perfect Hat-trick (one with the head, one with the right, one with the left), was a charm. We watched Henrik give us so much, he deserved to score a hat-trick against Oldco Rangers, but the history book was closed on that one with Harry Hood’s in the League Cup in 43 years ago.

I have witnesses to saying “We’ll have to settle for five instead of seven”, when hearing Leigh Griffiths would miss out today. Dembele (20), put in a performance which defied his inexperience. He looked like the £20m player some think we’ve signed. What’s more, he’ll continue to improve.

Tom Rogic had clearly been identified as our most dangerous creative player. He was hacked throughout, before retiring early in the second half. Scott Brown and Nir Bitton were also on top of their game, controlling the crucial central area.

Both full backs, Mikael Lustig and Kieran Tierney, got assists, as they created width to allow the central players to do their stuff.

Brendan Rodgers will hopefully highlight that the only two attempts on goal we conceded came a moment after we scored, near the end of each half. Teams notoriously lose concentration after scoring.

I’m off to find out who their no. 4 was. I’ve him down for two assists on his own. Liabilities, to a man – the keeper apart, who did well.

  2. Just looked through those Willie Vass photos.

No. 16 in the set shows a County Donegal Rangers Supporters banner- Oh! the shame of it.

And no. 6 is a belter- I know that the intention of wearing surgical masks was to make the childish suggestion of a Smellydome but when you look at the woman in photo number 6 you cannot help but think of other connotations for wearing the mask.

  4. My friends in Celtic,

Really had to laugh at loaf when he mentions luck.

Luck played absolutely no part in todays, so f##king easy win. I believe BR to be a lucky manager, but there was no need for any additional help from the Gods today.

The only additional help we had today was the backing of our magnificent supporters.

A very enjoyable, but predictable easy three points.

HH to all , but especially to those who made the effort today. Glasgow is green and white.

  5. Just returned from the game, I took the scenic route back to G44, our easiest win of the season. We actually didn’t play that well, Dembele, Brown and the back four apart, we were efficient and didn’t do anything stupid and that was enough for a 4 goal cruise. They are top 6, just, but will be well behind Hearts and Aberdeen, their level is a dogfight with St Johnstone, Ross Count, Dundee etc for a top 6 place.

Think what it would have been if we had a full squad for two weeks to prepare for the game?

  6. Worbler wont leave… he’s a trader…..as we keep being told….smart as f***. Worth ….eh …..who knows . Is there an article on his worth ?

Wait & see how the scum media deal with this

  7. Did anybody see a match programme today? What were the references to ‘them’ like? Anything to endorse the same club lie?

There is fabulous footage of The standing section singing Grace today and at the end of it Moussa scores his hat trick. Hopefully someonebrilliant with links, hint to Roy Croppie, the best D.J. ever will post a link to it. If not go on to you tube.

I didn’t go today for several reasons, a German guy, who I haven’t met got the ticket, hopefully he loved it and will go back with lots of positive messages about Celtic.

I understand and agree about your 55, but I think tonight we should enjoy the feel good factor.

    Hail Hail.

Just watching those Highlights posted. The site of Joseph Anthony & Joseph Gurner leaving the pitch was the image of 2 badly concussed boxers just after a Knockout.

    Priceless

  12. Jnp Tonight I am deeply conflicted. Overjoyed by our performance at the humping of a second rate mob. But deeply saddened that our board have not challenged the big lie which allows them to retain their 54 titles. Hh

I had a smashing day, in the company of a few guys my seniors, guys who have forgot about more about Celtic than I know, and don’t even mention oldco/newco they think the Huns are the Huns (bills paid or not) had to leave at 4.30pm as the wee boss was picking me up, no a bad shift since my first strongbow was cracked open at 11.07am……….I don’t but the “just another game brigade” but that’s just me

As you have always said there are worse people off but every prayer I say tomorrow at 10am will be for you on Tuesday, mind if it’s not he best news I will just pray more :-)

Dont think our board will say anything, 1872-2012 RFC are liquidated, we know that and so do the fans of every other club ,enjoy your night and remember the cheating and financial doping of the Murray years, how we felt then, their success with money that was not theirs or paid back. Dont spoil your good mood and be happy we have a team again, they dont and need major cash to change it.

” the banners from the Green Brigade were total garbage apart from 55 possible points. The hun scum banner marks them out as bigots.”

Singing about being kneedeep in fenian blood,or to surrender or you’ll die, die, die,or calling all catholics paedos,or effing the pope or any catholic or Irish person,or claiming ‘we are the people’,marks you out as a bigot(s).Calling bigots scum marks you out as observant.

    —————————–

The banner read “Know your place Hun scum” that is not about being observant. Its supremacist bigotry and shameful.

Celtic’s Social Charter reads”Celtic offers a welcome to all who come to Celtic Park and asks that they conduct themselves in a manner which reflects well on themselves and on Celtic. ”

Our measure of ourselves is not in comparison to bigots.

I think it shows that whatever wonderful displays or choreographed movements – you have to remember the green brigade can always be trusted to let Celtic down at some point.

  16. What is the Stars on

I read somewhere they are paying Barton 20 grand a week. .fantastic they will be bust by Christmas…of course they will form a new holding company then

  17. Imo, we showed the gulf in class that currently exists. We are simply a far better team than them by the proverbial country mile.

The oft derided (and by me too) Willie Collum was excellent today. The only mistake I think he made was not awarding a free kick at the edge of the box when Barton shoved Roberts over.

Their goalscorer is a thug, which, I suppose, means he is ideally suited to them. They should not cause the likes of Hearts too many sleepless nights. Long may they rot.

It was as one sided a game as we have played against any outfit from Govan.

Poorest team we have played domestically this season, Poor. The other three we have already played will beat them as well. Ref’s cant help this season.

  20. There is no way that today was comparable to beating the died Rangers. The mob we played today was a shambles of a football team. After their 4 years in existence they have spent millions and that’s the best they’ve got. Overweight knackered old men. Taverneir looks ok, Windass has pace and McKay has potential. But they were utterly woeful. And managed by a man who after the game looked in need of help. 10 in a row. Make that 20. Hh

  21. Barca 1-2 down with 10 to go, I think we want them to turn this around as they will take it out on someone.
