READY STEADY JOE

JOE HART will miss only his third Premiership game since joining Celtic in August 2021 when he sits out tomorrow’s visit to Fir Park to take on Motherwell.

The 36-year-old 75 times-capped England international copped an automatic one-match suspension when he saw red in the 3-0 win over Livingston in West Lothian.

Hart, who was on the sidelines as the Hoops beat St Johnstone 3-1 in Perth on Boxing Day 2021 and the 4-2 loss to Hibs at Easter Road in May last season, will watch from the stand as Scott Bain deputises against Stuart Kettlewell’s side in the 12.30pm kick-off.

WE’RE BEHIND YOU…Joe Hart guards the Celtic goal in front of the Hoops support at Fir Park last season.

The experienced netminder signed a three-year deal when he arrived in a £1million move from Spurs and the terms are due to expire in June.

Brendan Rodgers admitted the goalkeeping position is one he is looking at, but, speaking to The Herald, insisted: “Not only Joe, it’s throughout the squad. I think you always have to plan forward.

“I thought Joe was unfortunate in terms of getting sent off last weekend. I think what doesn’t get highlighted is he made a great save for us at 0-0 before that.

“He’s at the age that he’s at, he looks after himself so well. He’s in great physical shape, but, naturally, in every position you’re always planning and planning forward, whether it’s goalkeeper, centre-half or centre-forward, you always have to have an eye on the future.”
