Rest Rogic through the international break

398

The goal Livingston scored to defeat Celtic in September was their solitary strike in a run of six games.  Since then, form has bounced, they won 0-3 at St Johnstone, 2-3 at Ross County and drew 1-1 at home to Dundee United.  Notwithstanding that, I expect a backlash from Celtic tomorrow that goes someway to resolving the awful performance we put in at the Plastic Pasta Pitch.

Not so long ago, the persistent rain that has fallen on Scotland this week, would turn pitches into quagmires, unfit for precision passing.  By contrast, a soaking Easter Road on Wednesday could hardly be more accommodating to Celtic’s fast passing style.  Celtic Park should be equally accommodating tomorrow.

Although Tom Rogic was instrumental to the best of our performance against Hibs, there is no reason to risk his hamstring so soon.  Resting him for the trip to Hungary and then to Dens Park next weekend, would be enough to keep him from globetrotting with Australia during the subsequent international break.

We return from that break to a League Cup semi-final and a relentless run of fixtures ahead of the winter break.  A bit of squad management with Tom right now makes sense.

Getting to the top of the league tomorrow, something we never managed last season,

We were top of the league after the first round of games last season- only started to go downhill after week 2

I’m hoping will give everyone a psychological boost. Of course far too early to forecast, or, extrapolate – mid to end January is the time, but at least we are ‘in the mix’

It wasn’t too early in August when you forecast we could finish 4th or 5th. Are we “in the mix” for first place or just for runners-up now?

Do you deny that there has been a succession of attacks on Brian Wilson from your fellow cult members on here over the years?

I have only been back on CQN a matter of months, so cannot comment.

  3. So the GB are putting on the ‘petted lip’ because they ‘know’ something about a security appointment at Celtic. Their ‘weapon’ of silence is the height of conceit – no doubt there will be the odd banner, or, three. Maybe the other 59k of us should stage a protest the next time the GB & their hangers-on cost the club reputational damage & tens/hundreds of thousands of euros in fines from UEFA.

I don’t know the veracity of the Highins story, however it would not surprise me if it was a reaction to the upcoming CBC situation; maybe a requirement of future insurance cover. We must also bear in mind, like most other clubs, we now have in-house womens teams which will need special safeguards and monitoring going forward in a post ‘#me too’ world. Given historical events, Celtic will want to be ahead of the ‘curve’ in future in all things security-wise.

Who was the only one of the Magnificent Seven to later escape without being recaptured in The Great Escape before becoming one of the Dirty Dozen?

    Another random one?

Which famous boxing champion removed 3 letters (h, e, g) from his family surname to form the name he gained fame with?

  6. Galloway was a Dundee United fan, mid 80s,they went on the wane,he moved to Glasgow, and he’s a Celtic supporter, that info is for the hard of thinking, and often repeating shite, he will speak out of whatever side of his mouth, who pays him the most money. A charlatan if ever there was one.

First class letter from John James. I doubt he will get an answer.

Agree – the self-defined ‘humble correspondent’ nails it in a quite scathing and pointed way. I’d love to see a fan’s group run this – or similar – as a press Ad the same way they did the Swiss advert.

Re the non-Beach Boys Wilson; he may be a decent enough dude, but what kinda Celtic fan confuses or obfuscates around the fact of their verified liquidation? Grim misjudgement.

And with Rogic out, love to see a run for Luke Shaw but I doubt that’s a possibility given the PR leak last week touting Shaw and Urhogide for January loan deals.

  8. Hello again all you young rebels.

From a relatively calm Melbourne, after a few hours of tropical storms.

Massive damage everywhere including part of the roof torn off our

    soccer club.

Might need to gather my young loons together for some debris lifting

    today.

Never mind, Victoria got its freedom last night, and almost all restrictions

lifted , so we can all visit the pubs again, home visits are back, and guess

    what?

    The CELTIC are back 🥳😎🎶🍷🤑🌞🍧
