Rest Rogic through the international break

398

The goal Livingston scored to defeat Celtic in September was their solitary strike in a run of six games.  Since then, form has bounced, they won 0-3 at St Johnstone, 2-3 at Ross County and drew 1-1 at home to Dundee United.  Notwithstanding that, I expect a backlash from Celtic tomorrow that goes someway to resolving the awful performance we put in at the Plastic Pasta Pitch.

Not so long ago, the persistent rain that has fallen on Scotland this week, would turn pitches into quagmires, unfit for precision passing.  By contrast, a soaking Easter Road on Wednesday could hardly be more accommodating to Celtic’s fast passing style.  Celtic Park should be equally accommodating tomorrow.

Although Tom Rogic was instrumental to the best of our performance against Hibs, there is no reason to risk his hamstring so soon.  Resting him for the trip to Hungary and then to Dens Park next weekend, would be enough to keep him from globetrotting with Australia during the subsequent international break.

We return from that break to a League Cup semi-final and a relentless run of fixtures ahead of the winter break.  A bit of squad management with Tom right now makes sense.

Such a question should recognise the difference between action heroes in a fiction and real survivors in our world. Two Norwegians and a Dutchman.

  4. lets all do the huddle on

on bbc scotland shortly there are highlights of the 2008 cup final between queen of the south and the old rangers

i remember the hun scraped it by a goal, but just looked up the bbc website’s text commentary of the game to see the details

    after 40 minutes they wrote

“Steve Tosh bursts into the Rangers box but Alexander rushes out and dives at his feet. The ball is sent high into the box again and Whittaker appears to nudge O’Connor with both players jousting for tha ball in the air. Was that a penalty? The ref is Sphinx-like in his refusal to give it. Huge disappointment for Queens. Giant let-off for Rangers.”

the ref was stuart dougal – a proper masonic arch hun

3 points the morra and HOPEFULLY, no injuries. Callum has 2 gouges out of his leg despite wearing shin guards and the typical Scottish fitba Brute stayed on the park.

Regardless of what political faction or cult Brian Wilson adheres to, he is a liar and a disgrace and no amount of obfuscation from spin merchants and/or party hacks can alter that fact. He should be expelled from the Celtic board immediately.

    A total charlatan and Quisling.

You only posted half of my post.

I was making the point that these decisions can in their own way undermine them.

Anyway, amazed anyone read it as the Brian Wilson thing kicked off and it was back to politics.

  8. If Higgins is on the Celtic Board the Celtic Support is being trolled.

Having Police Helicopters over Celtic Park for no risk games was F’n wrong.

You’ve gone for it, genuine or not is your decision to justify. The mannerly approach to the bhoy, as I understand his displacement here, would be, Furugashi-San.

  12. Just home from an event, spoke to a very senior ex cop i know, during his tome with PS served as a match commander at CP. He described Higgins as an egotistical little p****. Said he’s a Celtic supporter but not the right man to be inside CP.
