ROGIC IN ‘GREAT CONDITION’

TOM ROGIC is in “great condition” and is standing by to face Ross County at Parkhead this afternoon.

The Celtic playmaker, who hasn’t started a Premiership game since featuring at Ibrox last May, could get the nod with Scotland international Ryan Christie banned following his red card in the 2-0 loss at Livingston.

Neil Lennon, speaking to the Daily Record, admitted: “Tom is fit, he’s in good condition and is ready to play.

“It’s a nice luxury to have. You lose Ryan for a game or two, but have Rogic to come in.

“He’s had his niggles, but he’s in great condition and has worked hard over the last two or three months.

“Tom got married there, so I think psychologically he is in a good place, too.

“He needs match time to get up to speed and he will definitely be in contention to start against County.”

If Rogic plays – and comes through okay – he will also be in contention for the trip to face Aberdeen at Pittodrie a week tomorrow where Christie will also be sidelined.

As the season develops, it will be an intriguing battle between the Aussie and the Scot for the No.10 position the Highlander had made his own during the Wizard of Oz’s enforced absence for the club.

The ultimate winners will be Celtic with the competitors vying for the vital position in Lennon’s first team in the crucial months ahead at home and abroad.
