ROSENBORG CRUNCH TALKS

NEWLY-INSTALLED Rosenborg boss Rini Coolen will hold clear-the-air talks with his squad today as he prepares his team for their Champions League trip to face Celtic at Parkhead on Wednesday.

The Dutchman replaced sacked Kare Ingebrigtsen on Thursday – a shock decision that sparked a player revolt.

Coolen said: “I think it’s smart to start with a chat before training. But then we have to freshen up and be aware of what’s
coming this week.

“It’s not about myself or the new coaches. The players have a problem with changing the old coach – and they’re entitled to say so.

“But now the situation is as it is and I’m 100 per cent sure they will accept the situation from Sunday onwards.

“It’s football. We live in a free country where people can say what they think.

“The players stood up for their coach, but my situation is different. Now we have to work together – and we’ll do that.

“They must be ready for the next match against Celtic and they will be.”

Coolen added: “I was asked to take over and I said yes because I want to help the club and the players. We have to adapt now.

“I didn’t expect this
situation – but now I’m
looking forward.

“We will analyse the opponents and find
weaknesses that we can exploit with Celtic.

“We also have to stay close to Rosenborg’s playing style that has already delivered good results.”
