CELTIC’S Champions League foes Bayern Munich have been hit by a blow.
Portuguese international midfielder Renato Sanches has asked to be left out of the squad he looks to resolve his future.
The 20-year-old dynamo joined the Bundesliga giants from Benfica last summer for £27.5million after impressing for his nation in their Euro 2016 win.
However, Sanches he made just six league starts in his debut campaign under Carlo Ancelotti at the Allianz Arena.
He is now seeking a move away from the German champions with Chelsea boss Antonio Conte already being linked with the player.
Explaining the Portuguese ace’s non-appearance at the weekend, Bayern Director of Sport Hasan Salihamidzic said: “Sanches is not here.
“He asked the coach as he has a few offers and the coach allowed it.
“But I can’t confirm any deal.”
Sanches missed Bayern’s opening 3-1 win at home to Bayer Leverkusen when the league season kicked off last week.
