Sensational Celtic remains sound business plan

964

You know a transfer window approaches when practically every media outlet has a story on Celtic are set to lose an important player.  Transfer stories are one of the most reliable commercial ventures in business.  They require no effort to produce, or recopy, as most outlets appear to, do not need to lead anywhere, but income per word read brings in more advertising revenue than anything else the UK media.

The premise that Sir Alex Ferguson has shared his plans to sell and then buy with an external party is ridiculous.  The distraction this can cause to Celtic players is merely a by product.

Ordered the CQN Annual yet? Get it here in time for Christmas!

Those who comment on our game do manage to contort themselves sometimes.  Sky TV convinced themselves Arbroath manager Paul Sheerin’s demonstrable angst at full time last night was in connection to his side’s disallowed goal.  A less animated Paul then explained his actions were frustration at only having three minutes added time.  If he wants to get more TV time he’d better follow the script – be angry at Celtic!

The moment Neil Lennon’s interview ended Sky cut across him to assure us Lassad’s disallowed goal was offside (which it was).  They acknowledged Keddie’s arm around the neck of Fraser Forster for the Arbroath ‘goal’ but were unable to confirm this was against the rules.

Football rules are very confusing, after all, but the rules on how the media make money out of Celtic remain the same.

We have not discussed Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas for a couple of days.  This single is going to position Celtic Charity and the 125 4 125 campaign in a prime spot across the nation.  You and I need to get involved THIS WEEK to raise the profile as high as possible ahead of the Christmas chart.

  1. Ntassoolla,

Thanks for the response the other day.

My “complaint” about house prices in Inverness was totally selfish & based only on the fact that they’re about 20% down on the peak – of course they remain higher than in most Scottish towns.

I understand you having had your fill of high ceilings etc: we’ve been in such a house for 30 years – we need to move because it’s now far too big as most of our children have moved out. However, most houses in Inverness are modern: the population has doubled in 40 years, so most houses are less than that (I’ll explain the inconsistency if it’s not obvious). Of course, it won’t be so easy to find a newish house beside the river – but there are some.

When I referred to the natives as “keeping themselves to themselves”, I was a tad euphemistic, but things could be worse.

I have no fixed intention re leaving Inverness or remaining: I’m happy enough here, but would be OK about moving back to Glasgow, where I grew up. Mrs IC, however, is fairly definite about staying here, which is perhaps the crucial factor. Anyway, we spend 4-5 months in Italy each year (because we have good friends there) which helps make the weather etc here more bearable.

  2. This snow bunny thing is interesting.

The ole Victorians valued a snow-bunny over a tanned strumpet, as pale skin was a sign of wealth, not havin to work indoors and what not.

The ole lizard people have divided the classes even more since then so that they can still have a pale skinned uber-upper class, with a handsome, bronzed wannabe under class right below them, telling us plebs what life is really all about :))))

  3. Sitting outside the SECC waiting on my teenage daughter and her pal coming out of Snyde 1 live :(

I wonder if they are wheeling out sneevins, deyell et al to proclaim armaggedon to the teeny bopper masses!!!

  4. neilymochansmagicsponge on

Thanks to Siciliabhoy & Kilbowie Kelt for the nostalgic memories of Neily Mochan. Great stuff! Night all, talk soon, and always be proud to be a Celt!

  5. Canamalar,

Thanks for commending me to Ntassoolla. I reckoned that his political views were not so far from mine, i.e. NOT left-wing (not right-wing either). However, variey is the spice of life as you say & it would be no fun always talking with peeople who agree with you. The main thing is that we’re all Celts.

  6. Thank god for that.thought i was the only one to Google it and thought best not to say incase i got a new one ripped by those in the no.

    Hello Dear ,

I am Miss Gloria Uzoka. A computer scientist with central bank of Nigeria. I am 26 years old, just started work with C.B.N. I came across your file which was marked X and your released disk painted RED, I took time to study it and found out that you have paid VIRTUALLY all fees and certificate but the fund has not been release to you. The most annoying thing is that they cannot tell you the truth that on no account wills they ever release the fund to you; instead they let you spend money unnecessarily.

I do not intend to work here all the days of my life, I can release this fund to you if you can certify me of my security, and how I can run away from this Nigeria if I do this, because if I don’t run away from this country after I made the transfer, I will be Seriously in trouble and my life will be in danger. This is like a Mafia setting in Nigeria; you may not understand it because you are not a Nigerian. The only thing I will need from you to release this fund is a special HARD DISK we call it HD120 GIG.I will need two of this hard disk to recopy your information from the corrupted one, destroy the previous one, and punch the computer to reflect in your bank within 24 banking hours.

I will clean up the tracer and destroy your file, after which I will run away from Nigeria to meet with you. If you are interested. Do get in touch with me immediately, You should send to me your convenient tell/fax numbers for easy communications and also re confirm your banking details, so that there won’t be any mistake. For phone conversation, please call me on 234-807-676-6856

    Regards,

    Miss Gloria Uzoka

Micky Flannigan had me in stitches for 60 mins of his show on Ch4 last night.

Just ordered his DVD for my bruvva.

  11. Tallybhoy,

As an expert on Italian wines (i.e. as a consumer), I commend your Wikipedia link on the subject. The only thing missing from it is the fact that Southern Italian wines have advanced greatly in refinement in recent years. Also, the balance of production is shifting Southward as the qualities of the ancient native grapes become more appreciated (primitivo, negroamaro, aglianico, fiano, falanghina, grechetto etc). The best way to appreciate Italian wines (IMO) is to visit Puglia & tour the wineries where good stuff is available @ £1/litre: helps if you have a sizable estate car – I can recommend an excellent place to stay. BTW the food is out of this world compared to the UK & Ireland.

  12. Glendalystonsils likes a mr whippy with his lime green jelly – It is also born out of a desire to see Celtic descend into mediocrity. The media are guilty of a lot of wishful thinking.

    Nail, meet hammer.

Remember during the Rangers (RIP) nine in a row years, when the press was palpably willing them on to ten? The likes of the Daily Record didn’t just report their wins, they revelled in them.

Remember the collective will of Scottish hackdom was trying, Uri Geller-like, to move Martin O’Neill out of Celtic and into a Premiership job – any Premiership job – through the power of positive thinking?

I see a few journos have started similar talk re: Neil Lennon recently. No longer is he the snarling, under-fire manager, suddenly the talk is of Celtic maybe struggling to keep a man of his talent and ambitions…

Kenny Dalglish’s short-lived reign as Celtic manager wasn’t notable for success on the pitch, but he did have the right idea about how to treat the gentlemen of the press. (thumbsup)

  13. 67Heaven ... I am Neil Lennon..!!.. Ibrox belongs to the creditors on

One thing is for sure, greengo’s strategy is to pocket as much as he can from whatever the bhuns subscribe to the share issue ……..they don’t know it yet, but they are buying HIS shares, and those of his cronies……..he will then hand over to walturd, allowing him to get them out of the resultant financial mess…..

He’s no daft……he knows he won’t be able sell this new SFL3 club to ANYONE ……… Watch this space…..!!!!!!!

RST — Roll Up Roll Up Invest In RST

What does a BuyRangers share get you?

on Thursday, 13 December 2012. Posted in Latest

A £125 investment buys you 1 community share in the Rangers Supporters Society. (The legal name for the RST) The RST in turn uses your investment and that of all other investors to make a block purchase of shares from Rangers.

The RST then owns the shares. As the RST is owned by its members, you as a member are a part owner of all the shares purchased and have a say in how we as supporters use our collective voice in the club. Whether you invest £125 or £20,000, you have the same voice as it is operated on a 1 member 1 vote basis.

Just to make clear, the share you purchase from the RST is not a share in Rangers Football Club International, it is a share in a Community Benefit Society. All monies collected by the RST will be used to purchase shares in the club.

All monies received by BuyRangers will be used to purchase shares in Rangers. The costs of the scheme are covered by the annual membership fee each member pays.

Contrary to some malicious rumours in circulation, this an FSA approved scheme backed by the Government, UEFA, and Supporters Direct. The scheme has been developed in conjunction with Cobbetts, our solicitors and all monies will be held in escrow by them until shares are purchased.

This is a real opportunity for the support to acquire a significant voice in the running of the club and obtain effective representation for the first time in our 140 year history.

If anybody has any questions at all regarding the BuyRangers campaign, please ask our campaign team

  17. Philvis – I wont talk about credibility…….

But I have always thought that Celtic aspired to mediocrity rather than are descending into it….

Tonight the girl I love{d} decided that she would run off with a bowly knockkneed splayfitted hentoed tosser….and you expect good jokes!!

I used to wonder at your moaning, until you applied to it to the treatment of our support. Since then, you’ve got my backing, amigo, as you spoke up and your emotion on it was clear.

But I have to say, punctuation is important. Forgive my copulating Canama”lunar”ism, “Think of the children”! :))

Don’t forget those question marks and commas :))

    PS,Canamalunar – you loves it :))))

  20. InverCelt concedes “Mrs IC, however, is fairly definite about staying here, which is perhaps the crucial factor.”

“perhaps? crucial?” – understatement of the week to IC.

There seems to a fair smattering of Italians and Italophiles on here.

Southern Italian wine was once used to cut and strengthen French wine. Something the French strenuously deny.

If the strength of French, Italian and Portuguese wine continues to climb as it has done these last 20 years, it’ll soon be in direct competition with retsina. :-)
