SFA and SPL office holders in eye of the storm

682

Somewhere on an upper floor at Hampden SFA and SPL high office holders will be mulling over player contracts submitted by Rangers over the last decade, including for players still registered at the club.

They will compare what they have on file with yesterday’s revelations in The Sun.  As far as the football authorities are concerned, everything will be in good order if Rangers submitted these side contracts, which featured appearance money, to the league and SFA.

But, if the club submitted these contracts to the football authorities, they would have to declare them to the tax authorities as income.

It would be good to hear from some of the very vocal former directors of Rangers on this subject, especially the one currently president of the SFA.

This matter has nothing to do with Our Hero, remember, who is currently drawing fire away from those who put Rangers into danger in the first place, however, Mr Whyte is wholly responsible for the “public censure” issued to Rangers by the Plus Stock Exchange today.  The resultant £50k fine the least of the club’s worries.

Regarding The Hamilton races day out……………….I dont think you can get the “all you can pour down your neck” package in the restaurant, I think you need to take a box if you want it

Yes you can mate – had it often.

sorry mate..just had a look on the website thought you couldn’t do it ………….excellent :-)

  3. SSN doing their usual “All football money must stay in football” propaganda. Just check out the two “experts”, Peter Storrie, the man who took Portsmouth into administration, an 18m bill to HMRC one of his major creditors.

And David Gold, who seems to think it is HMRCs responsibility to audit companies to ensure they get their tax returns right. I’m guessing that’s because most CEOs and financial directors are pretty clueless when it comes to proper accounting practice.

Both totally body swerved the EBT question.

  4. Clyde SSB.What’s this guy on now? Celtic and R*****s opt out of SPL for a season and play each other every week/

FFS even Keevins sasy it’s worsxe idea he’s ever heard.

    he = Ogilvie

  7. Interesting to hear that Hugh Keevins is still doing a great job….

Getting otherwise intelligent folk on here to listen to, and be wound up by, his antics.

He is a true professional, adding listenership to his bosses figures at a time when the market is saturated for virtually no cost !

Amazing how the folk on here suggest he has no idea and genuinely do not get what the game is.

Sure he does not have half the talent of Jimmy Sanderson or even Richard Park but he certainly gets the listeners.

As for the folk who call……they are only adding to his status and that of the show as the seek to get one over the ‘panto bad guy’

  10. Turned off SSN as soon as the presenter said no one from HMRC would be on.

Going by comments on here it was the whitewash I expected.

After Robbs call on snyde Hannah said the SFA called to say Ogilvie was off the panel

Now of course we have to wait and see an official release so its not a wind up

If he is off it ……..wow

  13. if i heard correctly on Clyde there – someone from the SFA contacted them to say that Ogilvie was off the panel examining CW takeover … tellingly no mention was made of him NOT being involved in the EBT investigation …. only in Scotland

  14. Out of the four major divisions in England, the four major divisions in Scotland, only one club have never had an player from the Irish republic play for their first team.

One guess who that team is…..

  15. I did not think ogilvie was ever on the group involved in the inquiry. I had thought it was only ever 4 including Regan & lord Nimmo.
