SFA and SPL office holders in eye of the storm

682

Somewhere on an upper floor at Hampden SFA and SPL high office holders will be mulling over player contracts submitted by Rangers over the last decade, including for players still registered at the club.

They will compare what they have on file with yesterday’s revelations in The Sun.  As far as the football authorities are concerned, everything will be in good order if Rangers submitted these side contracts, which featured appearance money, to the league and SFA.

But, if the club submitted these contracts to the football authorities, they would have to declare them to the tax authorities as income.

It would be good to hear from some of the very vocal former directors of Rangers on this subject, especially the one currently president of the SFA.

This matter has nothing to do with Our Hero, remember, who is currently drawing fire away from those who put Rangers into danger in the first place, however, Mr Whyte is wholly responsible for the “public censure” issued to Rangers by the Plus Stock Exchange today.  The resultant £50k fine the least of the club’s worries.

  1. So Rangers News Magazine has also gone to the wall.

Maybe next time, they should lay off the bevvy.

    ………..What do you mean they’re sober?? :O)

  3. Ron Bacardi – good point – he may never have been scheduled to be on it (CW takeover investigation) – certainly the thrust of the comment was he would not be involved in it in anyway – but definitely no mention of same with respect to EBT investigation …… just caught the end of it – would need to listen again to confirm exact statement.

Whether its true about the other league clubs in Britain I don’t know.

But, when he was at Hearts, I always thought the huns would sigh Alan Maybury.

He was a Republic of Ireland internationalist, but also a protestant.

I thought he would have ticked a few boxes or them in terms of showing they weren’t averse to signing Irishmen. (just a certain type of)

I think it plausible when talking about the top division clubs in each country, but not if every senior club is to be considered, and how far back do we go ? to the start of each football league and include teams who are now non-league, or only post-war or what?

    Yeah your right

Snyde did say the SFA did phone probably just to confirm after hearing the call from Rob

  12. Didn’t listen to Snyde but did the sfa say that ogilvie was off the panel or that he’s not on it. Subtle difference.

  13. People sticking up for Craig(OUR HERO)Whyte are as common as Spitoons where have all his pals went :)))))

  14. I thought Rangers might have signed somebody from the ROI squad who had a tenuous connection – like Andy Townsend or no connection like Tony Cascarino. (we got him, of course, but that’s anotther story :-( ).

Maybury is also totally devoid of any footballing ability, and is 3rd rate hatchet man.

He definetly ticks all the boxes

    True, so true.

According to Wiki, he’s only 33 and at St. Johnstone.

so he might roll up at Zombie FC next season. If he doesn’t mind dropping down to the third division.

  18. Hmmm

    rather odd

just had a message flash up by Kaspersky saying Trojan denied – only programme running was CQN?

As I said I read it on here.

But I would wager it’s correct.

In this instance, I think it should be disproved.

As you say, how far do we go back, the farther we go back the more chance there has been an Irish man playing for them.

  21. Twists,

It’s sad really we are actually talking about this, but it’s reality.

  25. Back on topic. Kraig Wite’s appearance today is mighty good news.

He has a tactic of trying to control the agenda by getting his point of view in first before bad news arrives.

I reckon there will be very bad news for the Huns tomorrow. Kraig can’t be aware of this because the administrators are working for all creditors so he won’t get the heads up.

    Oh, hang on a minute…………………

    Try not to mention them.

  29. Lads the only bad news that will come their way tomorrow will be what players are for the chop, any other bad news will be a bonus.
